Butler is still learning, he is going through a sticky patch. He needs to act more grown up when dealing with the fans and needs to play to players strengths and more round pegs for those circular holes. He isn’t going anywhere and nor should he….but he does need to develop and be open about his shortcomings

The club should put £500 on us not to make the playoffs, that would pay for the pitch.(legalities aside!)

The defence and the GK are a concern, as is the CDM. Rowley is getting worse by the day, full backs hitting really poor form Boyce on his last legs and the keeper is introducing regular clangers into his game. Couple this with regular loanee departures were down to a very threadbare squad which probably matches our budget now.
Team are strolling through us at will just lately.

Butler would play him out wide.

Not watching the game but if Butler plays two wide men who is it? Ewing? You’ve got Smith Hurst Dausch and Carlton on bench. Butler appears to be losing his form as much as Ewing has.

Maybe there is a wider discontent and Howe is just part of it.

That is the biggest concern,
The defending is awful at the minute. They look all at sea, no cohesion, caught out of position, too often isolated (especially down wings). Pitch won’t help of course but away from home still pretty poor (since Borehamwood away I would say). Have we got room to bring any loan/fresh blood in? Doubt it. No doubt this being Scunny we’ll beat Rochdale 2-0 with a display for the ages…..Listening to Butler the target seems still to be survival.
His arm was raised to the side. Was sat very close to it and under the rules it should’ve been given.
Listened to Butler post match interview. Honestly he can come across at childish sometimes.
One thing he did say which is a worry is several players were already carrying knocks.
He didn’t mention Cal Roberts but he was clearly struggling with his groin.
I would be surprised if he plays on Tuesday,
And that would be massive. I don’t know what Ewing is playing at either.Btw we had a stonewall handball penalty, you could here the slap of the hand from some way away. Linesman saw it but chickened out.Would still of lost mind.

I had Rowley at fault for three of those goals.
The goal he gave the free kick away for.
I was screaming at the players –
It was obvious they were going to ping it to the back post. We had Ewing and Rowley on the back post against their 3 biggest players. Really poorDon’t understand why Bellahoun doesn’t get more of a run out at full back. Denton is a real concern for me. His passing is awful and his defending leaves a lot to be desired. He seems to switch off quite a lot in important situations. I would feel confident meeting Carlisle in the playoffs if it came to that.

Overall I would say a sloppy performance and leave it at that.
Watch Denton for their second goal.
Just jogging back – really poor defending. Not switched on enough. Butler would (should) be fuming1 user thanked author for this post.
‘Free kick to them’….. not the best commentary

Dausch?
I just don’t get the timing, if we announced someone inwards at the same time great but we’re now heading into a crucial game on a pitch which saps energy and we’ve made our bench much weaker. Why not send him out Monday if at all.
The club get most things right but this is a strange one. Let’s hope we’re not a goal down chasing the game with the front men firing blanks.

Campbell gone out as well, nothing wrong with that but the people out on loan now should equate to 2 or 3 coming in (I hope). I hope Altrincham plays a lot of top 6 sides and can do us a favour.

Must admit this feels like an error. I can only hope it is to make room for one or two to come in.
Howe always puts a shift in, pops up with goals and is always a positive contributor to the team. He gives the bench some strength.
In the biggest month of football coming up for the iron we offload a striker with a one in three strike rate.

It was 3-2 91st then 4-2 so from added time only a point.
I get that, but in front on 87 mins I’d expect a win.
Yep agree – could be added to the list. I just went on 90+ mins.
I think the players drop deep naturally and I bet Butler screams at them to get out.He probably needs to find a plan B to see games out in training.
I think we play better against the better teams, wouldn’t surprise me if we get something at Borehamwood and Home to FG.

A quick look at this season (team/time conceded/points cost)
Brackley 98 minutes 2 pts
Forest Green 98 2pts
Altrincham 91 1pt
Morecambe 97 2ptsSitting deep and making defensive subs invites the opposition on.
3 of those were time added on from
nowhere by the ref.It needs addressing.

Really is astonishing the amount of points dropped in added time (and added time on added time from nowhere). We would’ve been top without these mishaps.
Do we start to take this comp seriously? With two potential home wins (not discounting anything after the Macc result) we could make a good fist of winning it
It’s always that bit at the end of the ground. Can’t we get heated covers or under soil heating just for that part which gets no sun? Seems a waste of a Saturday with the better revenue to go with it
Looking at long range forecast it might affect the next home game as well (Clitheroe). That might work out in our favour if this has to be rearranged into a night fixture – and also potentially save fans from rearranging Truro away if we get through.
Clean sheet is good. Thought they made it difficult for us despite being very limited in the ability department. I would like to see Barrows get more game time. Our full backs distribution was pretty poor last night (maybe 1 in 10 successful passes when moving forward). Pitch doesn’t help. God help us in the deep of winter.
Another great result however one tiny gripe…. today (and in past) we have made changes and changed the game in a negative way. I get the need to save the players but we were in complete control, Pools were just running around without the ball and I don’t think anyone broke sweat on the Scunny side…until the changes. Only a very minor gripe but if we had stayed the same we might have had a clean sheet which would’ve been most welcome. Overall cannot complain with an 11 point gap from outside the playoffs. We have a difficult period coming up but I think we play a lot better against the top teams. Ewing and Roberts best players in the league.

We’ve missed them as much as the ref and linesman missed the Tamworth player slapping the ball away off the goal line.
