Would appear no one wants the job that’s the 2nd or 3rd advert for the job, and they keep moving the application date.
Either that or they’re not offering enough money for the role.
Just chuck some grass seeds on can hardly end up being any worse than the last 2 seasons efforts.

Anyone else find it weird they had a local league final there before the season end recently?

Thought they always tended to wait until season end to offer it up?

If it involves making extra money then they’ll take it I’m sure, we need new long term investment ASAP.

It’s certainly at least the second time it has been advertised. I really don’t understand why we don’t specify a salary range or pay rate for our backroom roles. We don’t even specify a rate for bar staff.

I wonder what preparations are being made for the pitch in the close season? Weren’t different levels of work contingent on how much funding was raised through the Unity/PD and club crowdfunders?

On the use of the pitch for a Sunday league final, it does seem odd to do it before the end of the season.

I see it was a County Cup final, so a bit more than renting out to all comers.

An insider tells me one of the main reasons for the re-advertising is that contractually they keep moving the goal posts.

The semis were played on the 1st of March the final on 12th of April.
That was a long enough wait as it was.
Nothing to see, and in this case the club just helping out the county association, to be fair nice to be asked with the state it’s been in.

Never used to be the case.

Local league matches always had to wait until season end years ago and eventually didn’t they price themselves out of using it for local league and also that local marathon that was held there at season end?

Something maybe has changed (£££?) – or maybe I’ve missed it in previous recent seasons or maybe local teams haven’t reached the county cup finals?

Last season the same final was played on our ground in-between our home playoff games.

    Still nothing to see.

If you think something is untoward ask your insider SS.

I’d prefer them to play on the sandpit – gives us more time to let the pitch bed in. Last thing I want to see is the pitch being farmed out all May/June. One dislocated knee from a pro would eat through all the income

Thanks for the update – it’s good to see we seem to have local County Cup finalists back to back.

By the way – my ‘moving the goalposts’ was another too subtle quip for you.

I’d slow down and maybe have alternate days in attack mode fella if I were you.

    😂

SS appears to be confusing subtle with pathetic, still can’t work out whether he’s Dundee or Xmas.

Whilst there are definitely some words and punctuation within this sentence any meaning is tough to ascertain.

Please don’t use this sort of stuff on any cover letter should you go for the job.

They’re both fruit cakes SS so I guess that’s the suggestion. You’ll get used to what passes for humour on here the longer you stay. Don’t take offence, none intended I’m sure.

Thanks for the help in untangling such a cryptic response.

So far, in the week or so I’ve created an account, I’ve been called half a dozen names by a couple of legacy members on here.

Luckily am pretty thick skinned and I’ve witnessed the pile ons, without an account, for years by certain characters.

It’s little wonder this tired, old clunky forum gets little fresh blood and tends to limp along with such a dreppesive narrative running through a lot of the threads.

For the entirety of the time you have been on here, I have seen you deliberately try to provoke, others then get provoked and then you play the innocent victim afterwards of ‘nasty Bru pile ons’ which correspond to one or two poking at you.

    Hardly.

    It’s called perspective.

Some main protagonists on here seem extremely triggered when gently challenged about, for instance, non Iron Trust groups or non Iron Bru forums aren’t the root of all evil – it certainly doesn’t generate the warmest of welcomes.

Bringing supporters groups and forums together would seem to most (rather than old men name calling) might seem a better way forward than a forum which is slowly dying.

What does surprise me is other supporters groups haven’t tried to throw the sort of cow muck around thats been flung on here at the Iron Trusts board members.

    Credit to them I say.

Nearly every single post of yours includes a dig, back slapping for your own apparently clever digs, then moaning about others being unhospitable back after such obviously provocatory behaviour. If you want to add perspective, make some actual discussions without references to evil Bru, Trust members or making digs. Then you might have cause for complaint if others are snide back. At the moment, it seems to be you wanting to make digs at others, then acting the innocent when someone is snide back.

“What does surprise me is other supporters groups haven’t tried to throw the sort of cow muck around thats been flung on here at the Iron Trusts board members.”

Presumably calling others ‘club killers’ and ‘parasites’ for criticising poor, Dodgy Dave was not part of this, nor their own digs at the Trust. Yes, some have given back and have not been innocent, but it is hardly one way. This is the problem. There are issues here where some have been too much, particularly with Positivity Dave, but others want to act like angels, while wanting being toxic. It’s always someone else’s fault…

Despite being no more then a slight irritant on here SS for basically saying nothing much constructive but having a pop at some you will notice you have not been kicked off or banned because people disagree with you but there has been some jocular push back. On the Facebook group you would have been gone by now because they can’t handle criticism whatsoever. We enjoy banter on here and to prove the point the word skinned in one of your previous posts was unnecessary, just thick on its own was perfect. Hope you remain on here we enjoy the leg pull.

The easy answer SS is to close all the other supporter groups and just everyone join Bru, you know it makes sense!
Anonymity, so no look at me types, no committees, no fund raising except in extenuating circumstances.
Just a forum where you can sound off to your hearts content on anything and everything with a footy or sufc related content however in the slightest bruers decide is applicable.

back to the pitch and the recurring ad for a grounds person … possibly no one coming forward as it may turn out to be a poison chalice , trying to oversee the laying and maintain a top notch bowling green quality playing surface on what may be a Akys Warren budget.

IFA flattened a bit of Gunness playing field grass in his younger days if that counts as experience should i apply ??

You never had a soapy massage on Akys Warren I-A? Who hasn’t – should be the question.

Ackys back in the day was still prohibited land, the gamekeeper was always chasing us off.
Tried his hardest to keep the grass in good condition, he used to hang the moles he caught on the fence separating ackys from lysaghts work playing fields (foxhills club) what a grisly site on gala day.
