Another pathetic performance for me and an away win, especially if we start with Connor Smith
March 13, 2026 at 10:45 am #317474Happy Friday ;)
March 13, 2026 at 10:48 am #317476You’ve clearly got a downer on Smith and I suppose it’s understandable based on recent efforts. Possibly you didn’t see him when he was here before but he was class and I’m sure we’ll see that again, sooner rather than later I hope.

March 13, 2026 at 11:10 am #317479I did see Connor Smith in the National League North for us and i agree he was fantastic, but to quote from an ABC song to show my age, ‘ THAT WAS THEN, BUT THIS IS NOW ‘
He came to us from HEARTS in the Scottish premier league, but we have since signed him from, is it division 1, and he just does not look like the former player.
Maybe he looked good in National League North, a bit like Carlton.
And if AB plays him over Pat Jones on Saturday against Alty, even Positivity Dave cannot explain that one1 user thanked author for this post.
March 13, 2026 at 11:37 am #317481There is only one problem at the Attis.
Listen to the post match again. The beginning is becoming a regular start to it ! That is the problem.

March 13, 2026 at 3:59 pm #3175033-0 Scunny get back on track ( maybe I have done the happy hours today)
March 14, 2026 at 2:51 am #317517Anything other than a decent winning performance today and the attendances will drop further .. yes we MAY still finish in the play offs but scrapping n limping there with little momentum thus ending in tears at the first hurdle.
Alty in decent form and FWIW im going for another draw 1-1 (as per my recent predictions)
Hope everyone has a smashing community day and dont get too giddy with all the pre match entertainment.
March 14, 2026 at 3:32 am #317519Just listened to AB pre match interview ..its gonna be a tough game weve prepared well ( as ever) more alarmingly Cal Roberts and Pat Jones 50-50 to be fit..my 1-1 prediction may be a tad optimistic if they dont figure.

March 14, 2026 at 10:10 am #317520Which new player will we have in the door today in the lucky dip lottery Butler seems to be adopting.
Hiltons one every hour for eight hours or Butler’s one hour to kickoff stance do you prefer?Got to better defensively than we were at their place they tore us to shreds yet still we were leading on 87 mins when eventually they got the result they well deserved 8-2 would have been a fair reflection.
Different day, fast and furious take the game to them, and back to the attitude we’re gonna score one more goal than you.
See there’s competing buckets today “pounds for the pitch” and “bring a pound to the ground” for the foundation. Bucket sales for someone has gone up.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 14, 2026 at 2:01 pm #317523Hope someone realises that what we do on the pitch reflects in future attendances !
But hasn’t so far.

I’ve just watched it myself on the club’s YouTube page. Aidan Dausch is also 50-50 as well. He says Pat Jones took a knock to his foot – “hopefully that’s cleared up”.
March 14, 2026 at 3:31 pm #317533Ohhh Rene, as the gorgeous Yvette used to say, have to say 1:1 will be a fair result, as to how we leak goals..
Will AB get some stick for just a home draw is the question.
And Awaywego, the hour before the kick off is not a good time, as one dreads the team news !1 user thanked author for this post.
March 14, 2026 at 5:05 pm #317535Interesting selection, possible 4-4-2 ?

Anything is possible…….
March 14, 2026 at 5:31 pm #317537Not sure about this line up.
Think it’ll end with a defeat today unfortunately.1 user thanked author for this post.

March 14, 2026 at 7:38 pm #317545We probably deserved the win but playing park football for ten year olds will lose us many games.
How many times in the match was the ball lumped long upfield and only occasionally to a forward being watched like a hawk by a brace of defenders? 50+?
The passing was even poorer than over the last 6 weeks. That really is an awful thing to be able to say.
Still. Am very grateful for the points. On a different tack, how many of our defenders will earn a contract for next season, I wonder. I suspect that something of an exodus may be on the cards.
March 14, 2026 at 8:38 pm #317546Not many if any deserve a contract. Boyce is getting worse by the day, surely time to hang up his boots

March 14, 2026 at 8:47 pm #317547It’s well known that people have different views on the same game. I thought there was some improvement in the passing, not great and much more improvement is necessary if we’re to succeed. Altrincham’s passing was much sharper. What impressed me most was the intensity with which we stared the game after weeks of strolling through the first half (and sometimes the second) We didn’t deserve to be behind at the break but were lucky it wasn’t 2-0, right result in the end and we needed it. Thanks Alfie!!

March 14, 2026 at 8:58 pm #317548Two wonderful strikes by Starbuck and Alfie and nice to win it in stoppage time rather than lose it. Hurst was an improvement playing on the right and his poor corners were down to the sand pit on that corner according to AB post match, make of that what you will. We conceded against the run of play and equalised when they were on top with second half chances created up to that point. From 1-1 I thought we created more chances and definitely more pressure on their goal than them on ours and overall we deserved the win but it still needs improvement.

March 14, 2026 at 9:23 pm #317549We improved when the subs came on and switched from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3
Farrell and Whitehall can’t play together, expect Farrell to go back to Barnsley.
Alfie is the best finisher at the club. So happy we won! UTI

March 14, 2026 at 9:24 pm #317550Can AB just start with our best team, agree Hurst looked better but still do not rate him, and the excuse about sand stopping good corners has not stopped other players so 0 our of 10 for Hurst corner taking.
And starting Farrell would please some but not me, he is slow and lazy.
And Alty should have scored at least 4 goals, had some excellent chances, when our defence was no where to be seen.
A deserved win, once the subs, Alfie, Ollie and Pat made the difference, not a thumbs up for AB for the subs, because he should start those players, so we are not chasing games.
Teams around dropping points, so start a winning run, even Rochdale at home, maybe not that one..
Improvement needed, i agree Iron-awe..1 user thanked author for this post.
March 14, 2026 at 10:34 pm #317552expect Farrell to go back to Barnsley
Let’s send him back and be short of options up top again. Good idea. I’d start him against Truro and give Whitehall a little rest. Whitehall’s been playing a bulk of the season up top on his own and looks tired.

March 14, 2026 at 10:42 pm #317553Watched on DAZN. What a relief. Thought it was going to end a frustrating draw. Not sure the neighbours appreciated my exuberant celebrations shouting and bouncing on the floorboards for the winner. Better performance overall, for the most part. Happy. UTI.
What a handful Pat Jones is. Never stops running and taking on. Quality.
