Deadline was 20 mins ago…no signings as yet. Brogan and Howe recalled tomorrow?
March 26, 2026 at 5:29 pm #318379Joey Dawson is back from his loan spell.
Mo fadera loaned to Guisley.
March 26, 2026 at 5:34 pm #318380Leo has gone back so we’re now short up front unless we can do some late business
March 26, 2026 at 6:06 pm #318381Kian Scales could be recalled from Radcliffe to cover Midfield and Right Back, JB could the provide a bit of pace at centre back and Horton switch back to LB! I don’t see joey Dawson filling Leo Farrell’s boots!
March 26, 2026 at 6:11 pm #318382Howe is back I think so Butler will hopefully deploy a plan B 4-4-2

April 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm #319088Pleased to see it.
April 9, 2026 at 6:04 pm #319090Not sure Scales brings much
April 9, 2026 at 6:30 pm #319096He might bring a bit more oomph than some lately. Great player on his day and can defend well.
April 9, 2026 at 6:36 pm #319099Not sure Scales brings much
I thought everything about him was good except the final action of each move. In other words he’d scrap and get the ball back then give it away with a bad pass, or he’d burst past defenders into the area and then scuff his shot out for a goal kick, or he’d make an incisive run from deep and smack a 25-yard shot into the stands etc etc etc

April 10, 2026 at 5:40 am #319110I watched him carefully in one home match last season. He lost possession 9 times in the first half.

April 10, 2026 at 7:52 am #319112I was a big Scales fan in NLN when only his finishing let him down, but the National League proved a step too far.
As the previous posters said he gives the ball away willy nilly and there was no end product, he was running around like an headless chicken at times.
You know.
April 10, 2026 at 10:35 am #319121Interestingly Les I did the same with Evans (watched the long passes out of the back) in the last home match, 9 out of the first 10 failed to reach a Scunthorpe player. In a world of playing to stats you think someone would have a word. Either more practice needed or maybe don’t do as many.
April 10, 2026 at 11:04 am #319123Check out Denton too. TBF as a whole our pass success rate must be abysmal. Do the staff have access to this stuff because there’s been no noticable improvement.

April 10, 2026 at 1:32 pm #319133True. Hardly just Scales who gives the ball away easily. Still think it’s a good move bringing him back for the run in and playoffs. He may just come back and hit form when we need it
April 10, 2026 at 3:55 pm #319144If we need someone to cover full back knowing our defensive frailties then Scales with his enthusiastic energy is a good call, we made need extra legs mid second half in a playoff game.
April 10, 2026 at 4:18 pm #319145Agreed.
April 10, 2026 at 4:44 pm #319146I thought Brogan would have been recalled too extra bodies for playoffs

April 10, 2026 at 6:15 pm #319160Scales was getting pelters and was cheered out the door wasn’t ?
April 12, 2026 at 9:55 am #319261As I recall, yes. Not from me mind. Not a convincing performance yesterday tbh. Shaky. Hopefully improves.

The Brackley manager seems to think they were the better side
April 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm #319286I can see how they’ve lost so many games but they could and should have scored too.

He also said missing chances has been the story of their season and better sides don’t do that too often, plus I don’t recall them missing many chances yesterday, it was a poor wind affected game that was won by a piece of class from a player who funnily enough was on the better side.
April 12, 2026 at 7:15 pm #319308If we kept our composure when in and around the oppositions penalty area we could have easily won by 3 or 4. Far too many wrong decisions made in the final third.
