Will be interesting to see what Butler does if we’re 1 up in a game and wants to protect the lead, many times last season we failed at this, watching Tuchel’s mastercalss against the Argies will Butler have learnt? Sadly one trait he has which is almost fatal for progression is his stubbornness and rigid approach. We need Butler to develop as a manager for the sake of him and the club. He shows no signs of development just yet.

…I will add that the pitch is a massive positive for the club hopefully
Defensively we switched off a lot and our goal difference compared to others was poor. Gave away something like 18/19points from 88 minutes onward. The keeper situation hasn’t changed and we have one new centre back to replace an old one – scratch away at the first choice and there isn’t much difference from last season. A lot of teams have done well in the transfer market (Hartlepool for one) but only on paper, let’s hope our defence clicks and we remain tight at the back with few goalkeeping errors – that would be a shift from last season.
3-0 to Yeovil, I just think we lack something in the main parts of the squad. Controversial I know but we are very light at the back.
We’ll need a solid back 4 if we are relying on our current crop of keepers, experts talk about the spine and for me 2 out of the 4 are lacking, the other two only one injury away
Strangely enough Inwas at that game, b Doncaster 4-0 to Wigan I think
We will regret not having a decent keeper come the start, it’s all about fitness but I do worry about the second string and some of the first string tbh.
Would be very concerned if we don’t secure the services of an experienced keeper.

Mid table, not good enough to compete at the top (with the current squad) just a bit too much to go down.
We’re only a few injuries away from really struggling though.

I think the use of the word ‘install’ is doing some heavy lifting here. It’s a sticker
You can’t chill out watching cricket atm. It’s all over the place
The laws of diminishing returns not yet hit Scunthorpe commercial team yet, the product generally is as cheap as it has ever been but I think we have some way to go before they’re finished.
Absolute garbage. Simple as that. This squad is offering nothing for me…..

The joke about signing Kyle Hurst isn’t funny – stop it please. He’s not at the level we need, by some distance
I would’ve thought the statement made by Michelle at that time was very much a needs must statement. Pretty certain she had to be very careful with her wording.
Barrows isn’t good enough for NL. Seen glimpses of not bad play but it’s interspersed with lots of dross
One game we had a song still being played and the players stood waiting to start for about a minute – only because the networks were still on adverts. Fair play to ITV for not succumbing to the temptation
Despite what’s written here, along with Robert’s and, arguably Westbrooke they were in the Top 5 performers for us last season. No one has taken the slightest interest in our dross at the back. Lots of work to do in the market
We’re currently building a squad more than capable of relegation

I remember being sat 6 ft away from the Leeds fans when they had that naughty corner so it can be done. Having away fans in there, no trouble that day so doubt Eastleigh will kick off.
When you say Hilton started restructuring did this start with the land near Wickes that was never purchased or the complete embargo on paying any staff their wages?
Westbrooke is a loss but I’ll get over it quickly if we get a midfielder in who can contribute some goals. His logic of taking characters despite not being best available is flawed (England cricket check) MGW has earned a place way above Toney and Henderson. Wasn’t particularly looking forward to it anyway Infantino and Trump’s America taking away any sense of excitement. Tuchel will be gone and Pep will be in after the World Cup.
It’s a tricky one, I don’t like the constant begging bowl because it just cheapens the product and could have an impact on business sponsorship. There will always be room for fan support but some of the tat that comes out of the club for sale and some of the things they ask for goes too far. I think about that young boys family who didn’t get a birthday shout out because they wanted £20 out of him.
However the club might be desperate for every pound and penny, I think they need a commercial department who knows more about this stuff rather than putting a price tag/sponsorship deal on anything that doesn’t move.
So we did everything correct last season but forgot to water it? Use to be the case the turf around Scunny was best in the land, Old Trafford use to use it (may still well do).
Could we not find a sponsor for the watering can?1 user thanked author for this post.
If we don’t get an experienced keeper we’ll have the same pantomime we had last season with 4 keepers each dropping clangers. I too am surprised we’ve kept barrows who isn’t great. Hopefully Campbell gets a season long loan in NLN that’s his level atm.
You would think freeing up space by letting Dawson and Beck go plus Carlton having gone would give us room for another decent striker. To get out of this division we’ll need goals, and a lot of them.

Need to build from the back, our goal difference and goals conceded was no match for most of the top 6. Don’t want to see any of the keepers here that started last season. Need at least two solid CB’s and also need creativity in midfield with an AM who can contribute goals. Some of our defending over the whole season has been very questionable. Something I would expect better from Butler with his defensive capabilities. Throughout the season the two best players were Ewing and Roberts, we still have a lot of dross in the squad.
