Pedant.
July 28, 2026 at 11:04 am #323582As I said on the other thread less than 10 points and the knives will be out for Butler.
Can’t see us matching our 2.2 ppg from last year but if we can kick off with a home win against Yeovil then beat Eastleigh, Solihull and either Boreham Wood or Harrogate. Don’t see us coming away from Carlisle or Southend with owt but Hornchurch should yield something surely?
I’ll stick my neck out and say 15 to 18 pts and 8th to 10th in the table.
July 28, 2026 at 3:47 pm #323598After ten games I expect nothing less than 15 points .
July 28, 2026 at 3:54 pm #323599I expect to be in a playoff position.

August 31, 2026 at 5:32 pm #327183First 10
Won 2
Drawn 3
Lost 5A paltry 9 points and 11 points off play offs.
Prove me wrong Butler.

Surely a serrated edge would do the job?
August 31, 2026 at 6:40 pm #327205Next three games Harrogate,Sutton and Boreham Wood.I can’t see us winning any of them judging by the league table.I hope I’m wrong

Looking like 3 defeats in those games?

August 31, 2026 at 8:06 pm #327223Being realistic, I think the first 10 games are about avoiding being in the bottom 4 at the end of them. If we are in the bottom 4, then I think we spend the rest of the season looking for mid table mediocrity. If we are outside the bottom 4, then given that the rest of the league is not in a Rochdale or York class we may just hit a run of form to propel us to the play offs!
August 31, 2026 at 8:15 pm #327227We need to stop conceding soft goals, was a problem last term and appears to be this term – more worrying this term
because do we have the fire power to out score opposition. We’re one point above the drop and will probably hover around that for the next few games at least.2 users thanked author for this post.
August 31, 2026 at 8:23 pm #327230We need to stop conceding soft goals,
We all know that. Why didn’t Butler bring an able bodied GK then ?
Why do we only have 2 natural CB’s at the club ?
This should have been addressed. Now, out of sheer desperation he’s gone 5 at the back after signing another two wingers. Butler is straw clutching. Unsuprisingly, it isn’t working.

Phil. Love your posts. The stats. The analysis. The Scouting. The reports.
However.
Have you had a couple of Old Speckled Hens tonight my friend?
Flights of fancy from grounded birds?
We are a complete and utter shambles.1 user thanked author for this post.

Aye, if we had a manager who was a former FL defender I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened.
August 31, 2026 at 9:58 pm #327250August 31, 2026 at 10:16 pm #327253Must be tough for the board, in one hand they have the first five league games of this season, in the other hand the past two seasons progress under the current manager. Stick or twist stick or twist, kerching light bulb moment , let’s ask the founts of all football knowledge on Iron Bru they will put us right. Stand by your emails guys it’s our time very soon.
