First signing of the summer should have been a half decent keeper.
Second a centre back with pace.Somebody like JB maybe?
He was absolutely shite against Rochdale in the final got ripped apart.Saying that he wasn’t the only one. If butler doesn’t rate him or want to play him get rid.
Really don’t understand us having so many players in house when we can’t give them a good run out in reserves etc.
If I was chairperson I’d be asking the question of the lack of quality in recruitment.
AB has got that large a hand to play he’s absolutely lost.
Take Butterfield out of the equation. Yes he’ had the talent but just slows the play down.Unfortunately we are sailing without a rudder
September 19, 2026 at 10:18 am #328349“Good luck Michelle”???
Except that it was Michelle who both appointed him, and extended his contract… not once, but twice 🙄1 user thanked author for this post.

Maybe the BoD should ask themselves why they didn’t recruit a person to oversee recruitment?
September 19, 2026 at 10:42 am #328355He will get at least 20 games. Even more if we’re clear of the bottom 6.
Michelle is too invested to act quickly.September 19, 2026 at 11:25 am #328357Do we know our best starting X1 yet?
Does he know his best starting X1 yet?
Do we know our best formation yet?
Does he know his best formation yet?No.

Or why they didn’t recruit a decent manager with experience, instead of the nice guy they knew, who failed at Donny Rovers Ladies?
September 19, 2026 at 1:38 pm #328362Targeting is stubbornness. Again.
September 19, 2026 at 1:42 pm #328363Do you think he’s targeting today’s game as a win Sanfran?

He was already in the building. Minimal costs involved. Why spend money we didn’t have?
Got us promoted, then to the NL playoffs semi. All good.
Until now!

September 19, 2026 at 3:27 pm #328374Yep a bit of perspective there NI.
September 19, 2026 at 5:10 pm #328397I’m sticking to my 9 points from the first 10 games and 11 points off the play offs.
And did quote prove me wrong AB.
First signing of the summer should have been a half decent keeper.
Second a centre back with pace.
Third a tough tackling defensive midfielder
All that has happened is fill the broom cupboard with quantity with minimal quality. Who scouted these players?Crowds will fall as the season will look lost for many bar the ones who forked out for a ST.
All we can hope for now is mid tableI also predicted 10 pts from 10 games but looking unlikely.
Do we know our best starting X1 yet?
Does he know his best starting X1 yet?Do we know our best formation yet?
Does he know his best formation yet?Suck it and see football?
No No No No
As I said on the other thread less than 10 points and the knives will be out for Butler.
Can’t see us matching our 2.2 ppg from last year but if we can kick off with a home win against Yeovil then beat Eastleigh, Solihull and either Boreham Wood or Harrogate. Don’t see us coming away from Carlisle or Southend with owt but Hornchurch should yield something surely?
I’ll stick my neck out and say 15 to 18 pts and 8th to 10th in the table.
Blimey! Was I optimistic?
Lose today and the maximum we can achieve is 10. Back to back wins for the first time this season (looking unlikely) will give us 13 and Butler will get a bit of breathing space. Two defeats or draws and it’s knives out!
What does the club do? Give him more time in the hope that things improve? Replace the coaching staff hoping that a new broom will sweep clean? But any new manager will inherit the same unbalanced squad.
It’s an enigma wrapped up in a conundrum! Good luck Michelle.
The squad is too big and too much dead wood making it difficult for Butler to get any formation to gel, his signings his fault… possibly the BovD should have blocked some of his choices as now the squad is totally lopsided , unbalanced and playing like a bunch of strangers.
Best side right now
Campbell
JB Evans Ashbee Horton
Butterfield Rowley Beestin
Jones Gale TSFAfter an hour leave the back four and Rowley and bring on Hurst, Parker, Brennan, Bailey leaving whoever is doing best/looking strongest on.
Save one sub for injury/second yellow avoidance.
Disclaimer – Any resemblance to what he who is always correct will do is purely coincidental. Not too far off my thoughts .. Jones / Brennan not sure
