From responses on all 3 sites it’s clear that Whitehall needs to be moved on, forget his record mind!
Final straw for me was one post saying the new guy from Hull when he gets here needs to go straight in and replace Whitehall, a guy who’s never scored, really!
Pretty sure someone would take him on loan despite his high wages.
Just another forward who’s not good enough along with KVV and Ivan Toney.
Maybe we made a mistake in letting Mark Beck leave.

Said before season start I’d prefer he was moved on in favour of a more upright and mobile striker. Not until a suitable replacement is sourced mind. In the meantime, bench him and work around Gayle and Howe as the focal points.

Nagh Wootton was shite for’Us’
Sometimes you’ve just got to accept that players move on and do better at other clubs.
We’ve had plenty here ourselves Gary Hooper, Hayes Beckford just to name a few.

I thought this was a Butler thread when I saw the headline. Surprised AB wasn’t sacked on the touch line after yesterday’s disgraceful draw.

Players usually do well when a manager works out what a Players best position is and plays him there.

If the manager is really good they will tweak their tactics to capitalise on the players strengths.

Playing Wootton on the wing was never going to work. It was someone trusting him as a centre forward that allowed him to shine.

Another Scunthorpe manager who didn’t know what to do then regarding Wooton, aren’t they all the same though possibly with the exception of our Nigel, then again he was very successful and didn’t hang around waiting for the expected criticism which surely would have come his way eventually. Eventually all our managers are shite yeah considering the amount of criticism the vast majority seem to attract eventually from our knowledgeable fanbase?

Having an opinion that a player is being asked to do things they are not well equipped to does not equate to calling for the managers head IA.

I played football for 25 years and have watched a massive amount of it for over 50 years. In that time I have never seen a player with limited pace and skill whose main assets are physicality and heading ability turn in a good performance out wide.
I don’t even remember who our manager was at the time and whether he was good bad or ugly. I can guarantee you I was not calling for his head. Whoever it was though made ridiculous demands on a promising young player – in my opinion.

Last year matches were on YouTube on the Enterprise National League channel. I haven’t been able to find any confirmation that it will be the case this season though.

It’s a shame that some on social media have branded yesterday as a disgrace, abject, rubbish, etc. I think that’s an exaggeration tbh but we all see it differently. We should still be able to be critical. Just to add, but for Brennan’s worldie / misdirected cross things would have looked very different. Can’t agree we actually deserved a draw from that performance either. Not saying it was terrible but there’s much work to do on many areas of concern. Can Butler and co pull it off? We shall see.

Nobody mentioned Richard’s glaring miss just before halftime guess he’s still on probation but that would have put us one up at the break and then of course a different second half.

No Ironawe no Butler thread yet, and I agree in principle with you on his success.

I admire him for his self belief in himself and he knows best attitude, but that has come and bitten so many of our managers on the bum.
I think I’m fair in saying 90%+ fans wouldn’t have put Dec on the wing again, and the same wouldn’t have played Barrows.
I agree with you can never stop learning the key though is being able to listen or see and not continuing to plow that farrow when it just doesn’t work no matter how much you want it to.

Much in line with this thread, fan wise Whitehall’s time is up and even I except that.

Don’t know saleiron but an open goal less then ten yards out should be a given for a professional, toe poke either side of the keeper does it not blazing it over the crossbar, can’t blame a dodgy pitch now.

I think last year the four games were live-streamed – though I might be wrong.

im thinking Gale n Howe would be a better strike force option than Whall who must be in his last season here .. does his self no favours with his shithousery ..

I admit to my yearly pilgrimage to have a soapy on the first game of the season such was my happiness i did miss a third of the game getting home a limp n wet at 9:35 pm.. what i forgot to write was
ON PAPER they are a dam good MF but football is played on grass not paper .

One game in and you want to get rid of one of our best players because he had a off game, when he is out the team people are saying where is Whitehall, don’t think they hot conditions suited Danny, I thought Yeovil were a decent team and in the end was pleased with the draw, there is a long time to go to the end of the season but would love to see Jones and Brennan in the same team.

Will he make it to the end of the season or will he be gone before then (January, say)?

Butler recently said something along the lines of “no-one gets picked to be in the side just because of who they are”, and yet without fail Whitehall is in. At least TRY something else for a two or three game run and see what happens..? The floodgates might open, the course of our destiny might change…

Whitehall got some crap service yesterday. With Rowley and Richard’s both sitting deep and Beestin keeping an eye on Westbrooke. Long balls were being knocked into him and he was expected to battle with 2 centre backs, win the ball, control it and pass it out wide or turn and run himself. There was no advancing midfielder for him to knock it back to. I thought Whitehall’s play improved when Butterfield and Gale came on. Principally because one of the centre backs then had to plug the holes that Gale kept popping up into. Beestin should have been doing this. The management team got it wrong asking him to defend Westbrooke rather than let him play his more natural game!
