Wasn’t Roberts injured for the playoffs last season?
April 18, 2026 at 5:20 pm #319543Awful goal conceded.
Lovely goal to make our comeback.April 18, 2026 at 5:24 pm #319544Awful goal conceded.
Lovely goal to make our comeback.Yes, he was.
April 18, 2026 at 5:34 pm #319545Two goals in 4 games is the worry, Whitehall has disappeared, Dec done well but we’re just not playing good enough at the minute. The point leaves 5th on our own destiny at least.
April 18, 2026 at 5:35 pm #319546A good illustration of how poor we are without Roberts.
Playing Jones at RWB is just unbelievable.
Changing systems during the game, sometimes more than once, just seems to confuse the players. We played our best, IMO, as a 4-3-3 and we have the players to fit that system.2 users thanked author for this post.
April 18, 2026 at 5:38 pm #319547ive just logged in after a a few light ales and a massage so missed the game on HR .. going on reports seemed like a real shitty affair …sadly im sure it will be proclaimed as a “decent point on the road” by Butler and all the happy clapping pillow biters .. when in reality we are limping in to the playoffs with zero momentum UNLIKE the likes of BW and Southend.
Really this crazy over optimistic bollocks that we will win the play offs has to stop .. absolutely not gonna happen.April 18, 2026 at 6:44 pm #319548Who’s saying we’ll win the playoffs?
April 18, 2026 at 6:47 pm #319549Just finished watching on DAZN. Like a training match for both sides. No one over committing, pedestrian, etc. If the plan is to take it easy before the playoffs and it pays off, all well and good. If it doesn’t, questions will be asked about dropping any momentum.
April 18, 2026 at 6:54 pm #319550Sorry southend away moaners
April 18, 2026 at 8:07 pm #319551What? Southend can still finish 5th with us finishing 6th. In which case, you guessed it, Southend away!
April 18, 2026 at 8:10 pm #319552Agree with Cass above, the only time we’ve looked anything close to decent playing 3-5-2 was Boreham Wood away. Pat Jones at RWB is a travesty.
1 goal from open play in the last 4 is the biggest worry. Shite form going into the playoffs with Roberts potentially missing isn’t exactly ideal.
April 18, 2026 at 8:32 pm #319554Sorry southend away moaners
Is my maths wrong? Beat Eastleigh and we’re fifth aren’t we?

April 18, 2026 at 8:45 pm #319555Nowt wrong with your maths ‘tash!
Beat Eastleigh and we finish on 85. Southend can only get 84 and FGR are effectively out of it as they can only get 81 and we can’t catch Boreham Wood.
So basically next week’s games will decide whether we play Southend at home or at their gaff.

April 18, 2026 at 9:16 pm #319556Southend won’t have an easy ride up at Hartlepool on Tuesday night, it could be all sorted before we even play next Saturday.
April 18, 2026 at 9:24 pm #319557Southend are in amazing form though, be nice if Hartlepool aren’t on the same beach as Halifax but I can’t see them beating Southend.
April 18, 2026 at 10:04 pm #319560Despite losing at GP, ‘the ‘end’ looked well drilled. Don’t fancy it at all. Not on our form.
April 18, 2026 at 10:42 pm #319564It’s a funny old game. Played them twice this season and they were lucky to come second both times.
April 18, 2026 at 10:55 pm #319565Bit of a nothing game, a poor first half their big lad got through twice but one good save and one good tackle kept us in it.
Second half we were dominating but only creating half chances, should have cleared twice for their goal, subs seemed to knock us back again but fair play they returned to the task, Danny being Danny fouled their player to get in on goal but unselfishly passed to Howe no doubt 64 won’t have liked that one but, nice he was still on the pitch to be able to do so for a change.
Nightmare journey down trains delayed we sat in Retford for 2 hours 2hrs 50 delay in total got in the ground just as they kicked off.
Quite a few turned round at Donny and just came home. Turning into a third world country just total chaos on the way home just jump on any train everyone told.
Still in our own hands whether we play at home.
Sadly best part of the day was watching the York Rochdale saga on grandsons phone, massive celebrations when Rochdale equalised, and seeing York players pumping it up in the centre circle then had the stuffing knocked out of them, twists and turns that make it the game we love so much.3 users thanked author for this post.
April 18, 2026 at 11:01 pm #319567Ps, we all get a full refund for both journeys, but would rather the trains just run to time.

April 18, 2026 at 11:53 pm #319568Some consolation then. Good to hear.
April 19, 2026 at 11:47 am #319570Well I’ve already posted once on this but I’ve since had a sleep and listened to AB’s post match interviews and more thoughts have made further comment required. In response to the question “why did you start with a back 3″ the response was, not verbatim, ” I needed to try in case we have to use it in the play offs” WHY!!!
What is this obsession with setting up to match the opposition? We can’t play 3-5-2 because we don’t have any WBs, the closest would be Scales & Denton but it’s not natural for either and it’s a complete waste of Pat Jones ability. Set up with a system that suits our players strengths and let the opposition match that if they want to.
I also think that our top class MF had a collective off day, understandable perhaps when they spent most of the game watching the ball flying from back to front over their heads.April 19, 2026 at 12:20 pm #319571Read the small print ** evidently you only get both journeys refunded if you buy a return ticket, a thing that sadly Lner don’t sell! You couldn’t make it up.
No consolation whatsoever Deerey not interested in getting money back, it’s the day out that was ruined, Ryan the drummer was coming with us he was getting on our train at Newark, but in the end once all the parked trains started one by one to move we told him to get on the first one he could,we had know idea wether we’d make it on time but knew he could. it’s all about going and meeting friends not money. And like I said some friends turned round at Donny and they’ll get nothing back from their match ticket.
Sure everyone who went or by other means took the game in would have noticed the total lack of atmosphere yesterday, wasn’t really bothered either way about the drum till yesterday but when it’s not there and the atmosphere it creates I must admit it was sadly missing no matter how hard the youth tried to create some.
I remarked to my son at one point you could here a pin drop it was that quite.April 19, 2026 at 2:33 pm #319573Sure everyone who went or by other means took the game in would have noticed the total lack of atmosphere yesterday, wasn’t really bothered either way about the drum till yesterday but when it’s not there and the atmosphere it creates I must admit it was sadly missing no matter how hard the youth tried to create some.
I remarked to my son at one point you could here a pin drop it was that quite.Absolutely this! Said this in the now infamous drummer thread…when it’s not there the atmosphere is shite.
April 19, 2026 at 7:34 pm #319576He was at Gateshead with his far right posse and that atmosphere was non existent
April 19, 2026 at 7:56 pm #319577Couldn’t create an atmosphere at Gateshead if the London philharmonic played there let alone a lone drummer.
Hopefully they know when to try and create an atmosphere and when it’s a lost cause, don’t want to be like Johnny foreigner teams who keep singing even when they’re 3/4/5 nil down.
Saw an article where said above criticised English fans support, they really have no idea.
Ps, they aren’t that far right they only support Farage, not that any of them could vote mind unless Starmer gives 16yr olds the vote.April 19, 2026 at 9:09 pm #319580Farage is far right, they wear his stickers
April 19, 2026 at 10:29 pm #319581Now your making that up 64, Farage is a right wing politician no more no less, and fans aren’t wearing his stickers either.
April 20, 2026 at 6:13 am #319582That’s just not true ,At Gateshead a sizeable proportion of those kids around the drummer boy had stickers in them with a picture of far right Farage and the wording “stop the boats” I saw them so don’t try telling me it’s a lie
April 20, 2026 at 10:30 am #319590Fans, why the adage “far” tagged onto “right”?
Is your mate Stasi Starmer left, or far left?
And where’s that leave Jeremy?
Are you aware of how much France gives the so-called asylum seekers?
Does that make Macron far right😂😂April 20, 2026 at 10:46 am #319591Does that make Macron far right
No, Macron make football shirts.
