I’ll start a Farage Thread on non -football to save further damage to this one, sorry I mentioned the stickers it derailed the thread

They still don’t wear the stickers.
Many of said stickers replaced the far left stickers on the tubes, saying stop bombing Palestine, wording over the Hezbollah flag.
The tube looked a lot better for it.

Just saying they don’t wear them doesn’t change what I saw with my own eyes

    Dancing like Starmer there 64.
What you saw were some stickers, big difference between that and someone wearing them.
“Farage is far right, and they wear his stickers”
Which in both statements is factually incorrect.

Heard our players went to majorca warm weather training Sunday to Tuesday last week ahead of the play offs, but was more drinking than training involved.

The stickers just make me think “keep politics out of football, unless it’s politics we agree with.” Support for Farage is more political than the knee was, yet the people who bellyached about the latter seem to like the former.

Just to be clear having a sticker on your coat for me fits this description of to wear.
“Wear” refers to having clothing, accessories, or expressions on the body”
As these right wing little kids had them on their outer garments wouldn’t you agree that they were ” wearing ” them? For what it’s worth Stamer is lying his arse off ,I’m not

Without trawling back not sure how Farage has come up in a football related thread but im predicting same as i have re Trump that both will be assassinated at some point in the coming months / years ..Farage especially if he is the next PM as im sure such has been the weak immigration policies of both the USA and UK for far too long that there are already sleeper cells embedded within society to carry out such a deed.

A few young lads showing stickers waiting for their balls to drop isnt really a big deal ,ive got a dual language sticker on the back of my truck that says if you can read this YOUR TOO CLOSE !! that doesnt work either.

Back to the footy and i saw a post on FB where the local commentator at Wealdstone ON HOT MIKE referred to Scunny as a fairly big club and also the fans are dick heads.. not very nice at all boooooo boooooo
Also a Carlisle journalist writing Scunny off in the play offs before its started saying the loser in York or Rochdale would play either Scunny or MORE THAN LIKELY Southend again very bad form old chaps.

We shall see how it all pans out in the coming days.

If that be the case then yes someone and I take it was just one person was wearing said stiker.
Obviously from what I’ve seen is the craze over the last few years is to sticker up grounds, road furniture, tubes, buses, toilets basically anywhere you can put a sticker on, on what you saw is not the norm.
Had a word with my 14 year old grandson saying people didn’t like politics brought into football before Saturday sadly fell on deaf ears, the tube had regular outbursts of “Keir Starmers a wanker” you know the tune, which did appear to make the natives smile.
It’s there time now and I guess they will set the narrative just like we did when we were the youth.

Certainly a lot more racially aggravated back in my day 3 of ours jailed for Pa*I bashing, the same word chants, the n word was sung regularly.

I remember going to see Forest play Leeds at home in 1967 (my father was an accountant for Peter Grummit the Forest keeper, so we got free tickets) and Leeds had a black left winger, called Albert Johansen iirc.

The Leeds fans sang ” zigger, zigger, zigger, we have got a n…..”. A couple of thousand of them.

We used to sing that about Winston Donny’s top boy besides calling him Winston the W*g. No arrests no nothing back then just a different time.
Isn’t there a racial slur in there to the Belehouan song, whatever it’s not going to stop fans singing it.
If there were malice in it then that would be something else but it’s just a song.

In the bad old days Scunny fans used to sing ‘Workington’s got a ***’ about Peter Foley. Then he signed for us !! Now MBE for services to racial equality in football, or something along those lines. UTWI

Southend won’t have an easy ride up at Hartlepool on Tuesday night, it could be all sorted before we even play next Saturday.

Well it ended up a close run thing but Hartlepool delivered for us on the night ⚽️👍

Southend team selection would suggest they’d settled for an away play off game. Likely that our Saturday team might not be first eleven.

If he plays a weakened side but wins on Tuesday and the semi, his decision will be celebrated. If they lose Tuesday or win but lose the semi, he’ll get pelters from the Butler Boo Boys.

Of course Deerey unless they play well and are beaten by a far better side.

Cass understands, I understand other managers understand why can’t Butler understand when to play a weakened team or not.

Because Butler insists that his changes don’t weaken the team.
Replace a front 3 of Roberts, Whitehall, Jones with Dausch, Howe, Smith and that doesn’t weaken the team? Only one person doesn’t think so.
(Before anybody counters with “what do you expect him to say?” My response is “nothing rather than b******t”)

BTW I don’t suppose we could strike lucky and get FGR could we? Fans would be delighted to have the opportunity to sing an apology to Robbie I’m sure.

Don’t agree with either of those claims. It wasn’t ‘unacceptable’ to field a weakened team at Gateshead. It was very poor too field a side with so many changes and not give travelling fans an idea this might be happening to save the time and expense going (though awaywego apparently only goes for the craic regardless so…), His excuse and doubling down was poor too.

It’s not ‘essential’ at all to play a weakened team on Saturday. In my opinion, the starting eleven for Tuesday needs more game time to work on tactics, passages of play and shooting. If you don’t believe he would get pelters for playing a weakened team on Saturday and losing Tuesday, I strongly disagree. Evidence for boot sticking in from a section of the online fanbase suggests otherwise.

‘Fans would be delighted to have the opportunity to sing an apology to Robbie I’m sure.’

Sarcasm aside, don’t worry, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of frothing neanderthals ready and willing to vent their life frustrations at him in meaningless expletive ridden diatribes.

The result at Gateshead mattered, the result on Saturday doesn’t so it shouldn’t surprise anybody if team changes are made. At the moment the only result that matters is Tuesday. As for Tuesday’s starting eleven needing more game time – they’ve had all season, another 90 minutes isn’t going to make much difference. Shooting, passing, tactics – isn’t that what training’s for?

Personally I’d like to see us play full strength and get a decent win but I can’t see it happening.

I think he’ll start Mahady in goal – won’t want Jones to drop a pre eliminator clanger.
Defence – Scales, Boyce, Horton, Barrows
    Midfield – Denton, Brogan, Beestin
    Forwards – Dausch, Howe, Smith

Subs – L Jones, Evans, Rowley, Ewing, P Jones, Belehouan, Beck

I’m assuming Beck and Brogan are back ? AB said everyone being recalled.

The other top 6 managers Deerey, they’ve not played weakened sides.

Like I said on this thread 17th of April listen to Maher on his pre Halifax game (resting of players) he puts out sides to win, Butler said after Gateshead he puts out a team to represent Sufc.
