Butler has his obvious flaws. Needs to work on those but you cannot argue with his win %age. Has to be the, if not one of the all time best in terms of results. Would be amazing to have a fresh squad next season league two and a beautiful pitch having had all close season to get it right.

Well thus far Butler has led us to 23 league victories this season. 50% win ratio. We’ve lost 9 and drawn 12.

Yesterday we effectively relegated the club that won the NLN last year. They have lost 23 drawn 12 and won just 9. So quite a nice symmetry there.

Doing more right than wrong it would seem.

Yes as far as managing the team goes you can’t really fault AB that much, we all have options about how the team should set up and play and when subs should be used but he’s the guy who has got us to 5th in the National League after promotion last season on a £900,000 budget. When you consider York are top with a £4,500,000 budget it puts it all in perspective.

Within reason the league positions are where most footy fans would expect teams to be in the top 7 probably with the exception of Boreham wood.
Just because he’s exceeded your expectations doesn’t mean in reality he has.
But fair play to him he has got us there so job done.
But let’s not forget other managers of ours have been sacked for achieving the same outcome.
Certainly be interesting how it all pans out for the rest of the season.

Managers being sacked for being in a similar position to where we are now is down to the mindset, arrogant or otherwise of the current board or owner at the time so the manager doing his job well really has his hands tied. This current board don’t have a mindset like previous boards or other owners who wanted things their own way all the time, sometimes very unreasonably in the opinion of others.
