He went back to his registered club at the end of his loan.

Why would we comment on not signing a player??

Assuming after ZW being at the club all year on loan and it appears most scunny fans wanted him to sign surely SUFC should have updated if he was/was not even approached to sign or offered a contract and turned it down.
Again IMO it goes back to the club failing when it comes to club updates / fan interaction.

As ever SUFC seem to like to keep fans in the dark regarding any transfer and/or contract news.. Fan interaction is so much quicker when the begging bowl comes out.

What are they keeping you in the dark about? To make such comments you must know they have news, which in itself suggests they’re not keeping you in the dark.

The club historically have been very poor at keeping fans informed especially on matters such as transfers contracts etc .. even recently nothing about the new pitch system they had chosen.
Also Yeovil released the Westbrooke signing as they got him from Donny but IMO having been here on loan all season Scunny should have also at least commented out of courtesy to their fans who were all hoping we signed him.
It seems the clubs fan interaction policy is all one way when it suits fans are chucked a scrap but the SOS come fast n furious.
As i said on another thread without investment and/or new owners its NL for the next decade. and god forbid putting up with the mumbling AB as he just does enough and no money to replace him same as with new players now.

    to add
    new pitch fantastic.
we should all be for ever thankful to the current owners for stepping in in our hour of need and what they have done since however its obvious they have taken the club forward as far as they can and its time for new investment regardless if its joining Michelle n Co or taking over buying the club outright as without either happening it may well be NL for many a long year.
Also agree if 26/27 turns unfolds lower than fans expectations gates will surely drop making things even harder

I’ll return to a previous theme. While I am grateful for what the current ownership has done, and continues do, for us, the model won’t enable us to get back to the EFL. It points to play offs being an overachievement this year. I would be amazed if we repeat it next season.

Yep agree … before last season i had a feeling we would do ok and survive in NL in the end we over achieved and reached the play offs which was a fantastic effort… one year on and im feeling less confident and my trepidation level is increasing as our squad falls apart.
Can Butler locate the right players and build a team on a low budget remains to be seen either way could well be ALSO RANS so mid/lower table may be as good as its gonna get in 26/27.

Roberts stayed fit more or less all season take away his goals assists and the times he won or saved games for us and its a huge hole to fill and players capable of filling it are hard to find and cost a pretty penny.

I really thought we would sign Westbrooke bit of a bummer hes gone to Yeovil obviously all down to contract length and salary.

a bit surprising but the lure of a 3 year deal possibly swung it .. Yeovil do have big budget so obviously can offer decent wages.
So when Ewing jumps ship its safe to say the midfield is looking a bit thin ..

Going by his most recent interview Butler planning on being at the AAGP and on the hunt for new players in turn getting out of nappy n feeding duty and catching up on some sleep in his office, cant blame him for that.

i must say this time last season i felt ok about us surviving and doing quite well first season back in the NL ..HOWEVER this time around i just have bad feeling how things may pan out .. after such a relatively good dare i say over achieving year i reckon its gonna be a whole lot tougher next season not only due to loosing Roberts but other factors as well.
Very interesting month with the World Cup (terrible viewing times here) and AB trying to form a competitive group on a small budget.
Positive note ..it seems the pitch problems will be a thing of the past.

Tree now gone revenge is sweet . 3 fellas came and finished the job !!

note to oneself , not forget yer 61 and tree felling should be left to the younger guys.

Another one of lifes lessons learnt ..
Broken ribs hurt like sh8t so much so i had to get my housekeeper to stay over just to wipe my arse.

Anyway back on topic .. every artist seem to get a photo opp on the SUFCFB page but not even a sniff of a crowd shot or pics from inside the Iron Bar .. guessing it was a bit low on numbers.

No problem the profit from the family day yesterday will sort it.

Im not holding out much hope for any marquee signings with the player market as it is regarding wages and contracts .. i just hope we can find some rough diamonds or AB has a gene in a lamp.

Do i sense a hint of sarcasm AWG .. was the Family day well attended or another abject failure?

Speaking of trouble ..IFA been off the radar a few days as in the wars resulting in 2 broken ribs a dislocated shoulder and even worse smashed my front teeth out .. accident medical insurance covered it except the teeth which are over 2k quid to make me handsome again… my soapy cash stash has taken a real beating but no massages anytime soon anyway with these ribs.BLOODY PAINFUL.

You really need a home visit IFA.
Barbers are now known for illegal money laundering lol.
Since you’ve left, Frod road and the high street must have 15 or more on the go. And probably more supermarkets renowned for illegal tobacco, drugs and money laundering.

Following whats happening in the UK and re entry conditions here im not sure i do need a home visit AWG … i miss my remaining family there and obviously the footy but after 25 yrs away places change as does ones mindset and inclination to travel..recent visit to the middle East was probably my last adventure out of Thailand.

‘In my pre Millenium days of yore ‘ Frod road indeed had Wilsons chippy, loads of Indians, The Brit , Polish Club and i think Shnapps Bar.
IFA was a dashingly handsome young lad with hair and his own teeth …bloody hell how times change.

My love for my home town has never wavered and i still have a Scunny road sign on my gate post here… i will always be a proud Scunthonian

Should Scunny not seek to open a barbers shop and convenience shop down at the ground to solve our finances.
Michelle’s always harking about we need increase revenue streams by using the ground estate more.
Harks on about it but nothing of substance comes forward, unless of course the bank holiday family day is a success lol.

Just seen the BH family fun day Ad … im sure there has been a few similar events in recent times over Xmas etc and if my old memory serves me well they were total disasters.
not sure about a barbers etc down at AAGP but there must be something that could be brought to the area to attract visitors and enhance any experience.

No DM and Cass before you ask im not thinking of opening the first Scunthorpe Social Spa n Soapy.

Oh dear .. dodgy convicted criminal Dave preaching about honesty and integrity really does take the biscuit, probably this Adam Drury guy did a bit of research on Mr Hiton and decided to jump ship even though he had already signed a contract.
Hilton with his well documented past should not be allowed anywhere near a football club , how he keeps passing the fit n proper checks is another weird one.

    Feel sorry for MTFC

Steady on IFA those lady boys might start chasing you.

Been chasing me for years IA .. its just as i get older i cant run as fast 5555

Im actually engaged to be married to a ladyboy .. some have called me crazy others a weirdo but for me the thought of never having to lift heavy things or mow the grass etc swayed me.
Her name is Brian and we are planning a lavish wedding with a reception at the local WI hut and honeymoon in either Iran or Cleethorpes.

    Disclaimer Loberts
Everyone here in general says Rs sounding as Ls it was a little subtle IFA attempt at humour and didnt want to point it out and upset the massage lasses especially when they may have a delicate part of my anatomy under pressure.

Yes let’s, then in the next breath let the club shit on fans when dealing with ticketing issues.
3 times alone on that subject the club have been found wanting, it’s just a one way street with them.

As ever AWG nails it “a one way street” pretty much sums it up.

The begging bowl tagged as DIY SOS is here again and like previous comments suggest it does IMO give off a bad vibe, it seems when the club need fan support wether donations materials or time the posts are rapidly written and delivered whilst fans politely requesting updates are for the most part kept in the dark.
** That said if locals and /or their businesses are happy to assist them well done, i personally ceased sending donations as there was no real clarity as to where the funds would be spent.I was happy to help when paying players wages etc in the dark days of Hilton but since then it appears the likes of the Unity group etc just decide how n when to spend funds and Xmas Easter parties are not high on my list of importance…Talk of money chucked in for away travel also comes to mind IF TRUE.

“Hey Cass still a few pitch squares left 100 quid a throw come on you know you want one , oh hang on is that the new pitch or the old one and how deep does the 100 quid get you.”

Poor pensioner mate. Could you forego a couple of soapy massages and buy one?

Thats a tough decision Cass NOT.. a square of totally useless soil in Scunny or 4 hours of untold pleasure, feeling refreshed, relaxed, happy and smelling like a trannies hand bag.

Abdulmalik was running rings around them. As soon as he went off it was as though Dale had an extra man.
    Fair play to them!

Roberts, Scunthorpe & Abdulmalik, Borehamwood neither in NL next season I suspect.

yeah looking very likely Cass .. take away Roberts goals and assists and Scunny would have finished where this season. Ive even got the staff at my local soapy saying prayers for Loberts to stay ..

    No real shocks ..
i would have kept Brogan and released Barrows and Campbell.
    Should try to sign Westbrooke
ALL EYES ON CAL as it stands.

Can only see we have kept hold of barrows because he’s loved by the board and good around the dressing room because i struggle to see any other reasons sadly. My money is now on roberts to sign for someone like Rochdale only based on a few comments he has made about the dale team.

Whilst there is a bit of chit chat traction ovver yonder re Cal Roberts staying IMO he will leave and i did predict he would be joining Rochdale amongst a couple of others.
Time will tell and as ever SUFC drag their feet with any updates re contract negs and transfer news.

IFA back back from his road trip and as promised due to the Iron beating Southend my son and i visited the local kids home / girls home with a 100 quid donation .. was advised they preferred we buy and donate items such as dry foods, sports items and clothing rather than leave cash so thats what we did..IRONically included a couple of footballs amongst the noodles tins of sardines and T shirts.

Being proactive with fan updates is not something SUFC has down as a priority unless of course they need donations sponsors or the good old SOS rally cry for local businesses.

Be very interesting few weeks regarding the pitch and how its being funded let along all the ins n outs staff wise.
