WTF?
May 22, 2026 at 8:34 pm #321060Jordan Henderson? Englands version of Michael Clunan.
May 22, 2026 at 9:38 pm #321061Was awaiting a post re this subject.
Don’t recognise majority of them and very desperate taking Henderson
Ahh well another reason to not tune in
May 22, 2026 at 9:46 pm #321062Ivan Toney? Rich park league hot shot.
Tbh, I enjoy major tournaments, and long since given up on any decent England showing. Wales might fare better this time.
May 22, 2026 at 11:41 pm #321063Don’t think Wales have much of a chance considering they didn’t qualify.
Some very strange selections, just hope Tuchel knows what he’s doing. None of the performances during qualifying were all that inspiring (except maybe the 5-0 away win in Serbia) and the most recent round of friendlies were an extremely tough watch.

Little bit of sarcasm from me ;)

May 23, 2026 at 9:06 am #321065His logic of taking characters despite not being best available is flawed (England cricket check) MGW has earned a place way above Toney and Henderson. Wasn’t particularly looking forward to it anyway Infantino and Trump’s America taking away any sense of excitement. Tuchel will be gone and Pep will be in after the World Cup.
May 23, 2026 at 9:49 am #321066Well we’ve tried the golden generation route and fell flat on our faces, maybe his “team ethic” might do some good. Other than taking Henderson obviously.
Can’t say I’m bothered though much the same as ironawe, also it’s gone to big 48 teams wtf, haven’t they heard of qualifying so only the best teams get there.
Just like everything else greed takes over the European cups now are a joke, they even got rid of the best competition imo in the cup winners cup. They were great competitions and ment something other than money to qualify in them.1 user thanked author for this post.
May 23, 2026 at 10:04 am #321068I reckon the only person who thinks the same as Tuchel is Dan Burn’s mum!
Reminds me of the lost years of the 70s when flair players like Stan Bowles, Tony Currie, Rodney Marsh and Frank Worthington were often left our in favour of “safer” options.

May 23, 2026 at 5:04 pm #321075Even Alf Ramsey made odd choices: taking Gordon Banks in 1970 when he’d lost an eye?

Banks lost his eye in October 1972.
Good story Alky, but not true
May 23, 2026 at 6:13 pm #321080alcy likes a good story, that’s why he’s an alcy 😂
May 23, 2026 at 8:07 pm #321086Pretty sure he did travel again.

Nah, it’s because I’ve had a shite life and alcohol dulls the pain.
May 23, 2026 at 8:48 pm #321088Pretty sure he did travel again.
Need to checkBanks was at the 1970 World Cup but he still had both of his eyes.
No need to check.
May 23, 2026 at 11:13 pm #321091That’s ruined Alcy’s ‘Banksy, has only got one eye…’ chant.
May 24, 2026 at 9:34 am #321094What’s the next line?
“Deerey, has two, but very small..”?
😂May 24, 2026 at 9:36 am #321095Amazing what you THINK you remember.
I could have sworn he traveled with the England squad AFTER losing his sight in his right eye 🙄May 24, 2026 at 3:18 pm #321098It’s your age alcy have another beer and everything will be fine 🤪
May 24, 2026 at 6:29 pm #321103Thought Southgate was poor but Tuchel is worse
