May 28, 2026 at 1:40 pm #321215No, not even Evans and Denton who were poised to sign 2 weeks ago.
May 28, 2026 at 3:34 pm #321216As ever SUFC seem to like to keep fans in the dark regarding any transfer and/or contract news.. Fan interaction is so much quicker when the begging bowl comes out.

May 28, 2026 at 4:25 pm #321217Bit early yet, the season finished 2 wks earlier than last season, don’t think we signed anyone till the 9th of June.
This time last season Butler had only announced the retained list, and this year though I’m sure he working on it can be forgiven his wife just had their first child so his mind will not be totally on the team as yet.
Don’t get me wrong his family planning was not the best being a football manager, but he’s only a young manager and a lot to learn. Lol.
Not like us 14yr old team managers who had the sense to not get married until the season was finished, wifey wanted the 3rd of may but that was cup final day (when the cup meant something) so the 10th it was, not an hard thing to arrange.
Butler knows best.May 28, 2026 at 4:30 pm #321218Butler having a life outside of football? Disgrace! Butler out!
May 28, 2026 at 4:42 pm #321219Going by his most recent interview Butler planning on being at the AAGP and on the hunt for new players in turn getting out of nappy n feeding duty and catching up on some sleep in his office, cant blame him for that.
i must say this time last season i felt ok about us surviving and doing quite well first season back in the NL ..HOWEVER this time around i just have bad feeling how things may pan out .. after such a relatively good dare i say over achieving year i reckon its gonna be a whole lot tougher next season not only due to loosing Roberts but other factors as well.
Very interesting month with the World Cup (terrible viewing times here) and AB trying to form a competitive group on a small budget.
Positive note ..it seems the pitch problems will be a thing of the past.May 28, 2026 at 5:44 pm #321222Is he a “young manager”? I would have thought he’s average age.

Butler knows best.May 28, 2026 at 6:15 pm #321225We don’t know the playing budget yet and that will be decisive, anything less than last year’s £900,000 and a poor season beckons, you would reckon it should be north of a million after what was achieved last season, fingers 🤞

May 28, 2026 at 6:17 pm #321227And the price increases should enable that.
May 28, 2026 at 6:29 pm #321229Hasn’t the club said the increase is to cover additional operating costs?
And the price increases should enable that.

What are they keeping you in the dark about? To make such comments you must know they have news, which in itself suggests they’re not keeping you in the dark.

May 28, 2026 at 7:00 pm #321233I was being sarcastic SI with the young manager, they on here who promote it on her mean inexperienced when in fact he’s managed 127 games, plus god knows how many girlie games.
I hope the 17% increase extra for a season ticket and the same on general admission mostly goes on the playing budget otherwise there’s something sadly going wrong down there.
May 28, 2026 at 7:38 pm #321237How much money will that 17% increase bring in?
May 28, 2026 at 7:45 pm #321238Judging by those not renewing because it’s gone up, not a lot.

The club historically have been very poor at keeping fans informed especially on matters such as transfers contracts etc .. even recently nothing about the new pitch system they had chosen.
Also Yeovil released the Westbrooke signing as they got him from Donny but IMO having been here on loan all season Scunny should have also at least commented out of courtesy to their fans who were all hoping we signed him.
It seems the clubs fan interaction policy is all one way when it suits fans are chucked a scrap but the SOS come fast n furious.
As i said on another thread without investment and/or new owners its NL for the next decade. and god forbid putting up with the mumbling AB as he just does enough and no money to replace him same as with new players now.1 user thanked author for this post.
May 29, 2026 at 7:32 am #321253You and other have “historically” accused them of it, that’s not proof they have anything to say.
May 29, 2026 at 8:19 am #321255Surely the “proof” is that Yeovil announced a signing of a player we’d had on loan all season, but we’ve said nothing about not re-signing him?
May 29, 2026 at 10:01 am #321260He went back to his registered club at the end of his loan.
Why would we comment on not signing a player??

Assuming after ZW being at the club all year on loan and it appears most scunny fans wanted him to sign surely SUFC should have updated if he was/was not even approached to sign or offered a contract and turned it down.
Again IMO it goes back to the club failing when it comes to club updates / fan interaction.1 user thanked author for this post.
May 29, 2026 at 10:41 am #321264When was the last time we offered a 3 year contract? As important as money to a 29 y.o. I suspect. Would any club want to advertise the fact that they were not the number one choice for a player, better to say nothing and let the fans make up the “facts” maybe?
May 29, 2026 at 10:48 am #321268Don’t think we are in the financial position to be offering 3 year contracts to OK National League level (almost) 30 year olds.
We only had one player worth a 3 year deal and he’s just left the club.

That’s not proof the club knew he was joining Yeovil,it’s proof he is joining Yeovil only
Do you think he went to the Iron and said I’m negotiating with Yeovil while he has an offer on the table?

Might just have done so.
If he thought we might increase our offer.
So far we’ve “allowed” two to escape, but signed no one.
Bargain basement again?May 29, 2026 at 4:14 pm #321284My new grandson has just learned to feed himself today.
Perhaps some on here should learn to do the same instead of expecting someone to hold the bottle for them!

Bargain basement again? It’s not even the end of May yet. Lots of clubs will lose players in the coming weeks, but will not sign others until they have gone. Many contracts run until end June as well.
We don’t have a very good record of getting in players early, but it is somewhat unfair to start haranguing them so early.

May 29, 2026 at 5:03 pm #321290There is an order to things at SUFC
1. The announcement of the retained list.
2. The announcement of out of contract players signing elsewhere
3. The announcement of a draft pre season friendly programme
4. The announcement of a marque signing/re signings of OOC players
5. The announcement of a finalised preseason programme
6. Players reporting back for training
4/5/6 may be interchangeable
7. The appearance of triallists ABCDEFGHI and J in said pre season games
8. Start of Season
9. The announcement of Triallists ABC and D signing 1 year “bench warmer” terms
10. The announcement of season long loans for players you have probably never heard of.
We are only currently of step 2 of the process!1 user thanked author for this post.

May 29, 2026 at 5:11 pm #321293Regarding signings – I’d prefer the club had a better idea of who’s staying before launching in to the transfer market.
