Hilton broke that order and still does at Matlock.
Roberts was his 11th signing by the 19th of June.
Whitehall, Fitz and Clunan before the 23rd of May. Sigh!1 user thanked author for this post.
May 29, 2026 at 6:33 pm #321296Evans signed a one year deal.
Spalding away in a friendly 18th July.May 29, 2026 at 6:54 pm #321298There is an order to things at SUFC
1. The announcement of the retained list.
2. The announcement of out of contract players signing elsewhere
3. The announcement of a draft pre season friendly programme
4. The announcement of a marque signing/re signings of OOC players
5. The announcement of a finalised preseason programme
6. Players reporting back for training
4/5/6 may be interchangeable
7. The appearance of triallists ABCDEFGHI and J in said pre season games
8. Start of Season
9. The announcement of Triallists ABC and D signing 1 year “bench warmer” terms
10. The announcement of season long loans for players you have probably never heard of.
We are only currently of step 2 of the process!Whilst i admire your idea of how things SHOULD happen Phil its not that black n white ..
The better players will all be long gone by the time we get to SUFC step 4 .. so pecking about for the crumbs is about it.
Maybe down to finances but why do so many other clubs like Yeovil seem to make early statement signings while Scunny always leave it until the last chance saloon .. we are always so slow out the blocks its like we re sweeping up other clubs player litter.no money no honey

Whitehall, Fitz and Clunan before the 23rd of May. Sigh! And then he refused to pay their wages. Sigh, sigh and thrice sigh!
May 29, 2026 at 8:07 pm #321301But at least we had the players.

But not for long. We’d have gone out of business pretty damned quickly if he’d stayed.
May 29, 2026 at 9:30 pm #321303What just like Matlock have.

No but Awaywego is for deflection purposes, oh what a surprise 😂
May 30, 2026 at 9:15 am #321312You can’t just take Matlock, Ilkeston out of the equation. They are proof that he can and does run a football club.
What are the different circumstances your referring to.May 30, 2026 at 11:11 am #321315Like saying he can drive a pedal car so can compete in F1
May 30, 2026 at 11:37 am #321317His actions at Ilkeston or Matlock don’t absolve or change his dodgy actions here. They will always go down in infamy and his actions at Matlock are already causing some raised eyebrows.
May 30, 2026 at 11:45 am #321320Funny you should say that 64 watched that warship program last night, where a 17yr old was in charge (driving) HMS Dragon and he hadn’t passed his driving test.
If that’s context for you.May 30, 2026 at 12:29 pm #321326Positive Dave said he should have news for you all next week on where Boyce is going. Evidently fans asking him where he is going. Really!
Got 7 of his signed shirts ya know.May 30, 2026 at 2:25 pm #321328Both Dodgy Dave and the manager he appointed were out their depth at our club and so he proved with his incompetence, he’s in a much better place with lesser clubs who don’t overwhelm him into making stupid decisions. Guys a joke really when it comes to competence.
May 30, 2026 at 4:08 pm #321330No newbies signed at Scunny yet but Macc Town have just snaffled Finn Shrimpton after he was released by Chester.

As far as we know !!
Elliott Whitehouse left Macclesfield and has now signed for Russ at Gainsborough T.
May 30, 2026 at 7:36 pm #321335Elliott lives at Beckingham, Sanfran, only two miles away
May 31, 2026 at 6:04 am #321347WHILE ALL REMAINS DEATHLY QUIET ON THE SUFC TRANSFER FRONT …
Its a double swoop by Macc T .. as well as Finn they just signed Kiddy shot stopper Dibble , if i recall he was a dam good keeper and surprised Kiddy didnt keep him ..much the same as Shrimpton at Chester .. 8 goals in 8 games he was a big part of them slipping in the back door for the play offs , a lot of Chester fans cant fathom him being released also.May 31, 2026 at 9:51 am #321350Maybe Mac T offered more money, it’s usually about the money which is understandable for anyone really but particularly footballers with their short careers and blah blah blah etc.
May 31, 2026 at 11:22 am #321353Chester didn’t release him as such,he made it clear he wanted a move and wouldn’t be signing a new contract, he just couldn’t commit to the extended training schedule that was being introduced, he also works for his father, obviously location will have been a factor in the decision as well.
From reports though I expected him to move to an higher league.1 user thanked author for this post.
June 1, 2026 at 1:08 pm #321362Still no transfer news. Grab the pitchforks and light the torches! Or in IFA’s case, a bar of soap.
June 1, 2026 at 2:17 pm #321369No need to panic, well at least for a couple of weeks.
