I do not believe there should be a statue for Kevin Keegan at Scunthorpe united. A bar or a road perhaps, but not a statue and not a stand. This is not to belittle his achievements at Scunthorpe, but his great achievements happened elsewhere (Anfield, StJames Park or Wembley) and one of those locations is where it should be. I live in Doncaster and the local press and social media are talking about a memorial at the Keepmoat, when I would have thought a blue plaque on his childhood home in Armthorpe would have been enough ! I do not think the clubs supporters should be putting there fundraising efforts into this whilst the club itself is still on it’s uppers.

    Absolutely agree bang on post.

I’m also a Trust member and would also like to register my displeasure with the trust using funds other than what they have been raised for.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but the Trust stated on many occasions that members Fees and fund raising was to buy shares in the club.
Aso whilst I fully agree with either renaming the Iron bar or removing the name Botham from the exec lounge and replacing it with Keegan, I don’t believe the amount of money needed to pay for a statue will be raised by the trust, they’ve not thought this through.

    Again bang on ..

    Keegan Bar
    Keegan Exec Lounge ..
after all what has Beffy ever done for the club especially when it was very close to going out of exsistence . Bothams last appearance in Scunny was at the crown court for a fight outside Tiffs 555555

AB may well be under pressure at some point .. but golden balls will survive by hook or by crook.
The squad MAY BE bigger with cover for most positions but just how good will the newbies be and more so what system Butler decide to play with what he has to choose from.

Pleased Jacob Butters is back and the Howe and Brennan signings look decent.

An interesting season is nearly upon us.

    PREDICTION
Flirt with both the lower playoff places and the relegation zone in the same season .. finishing 14th to 18th.

Well really Andy, distances what the f ya talking about wtf are distances? mentioned twice and the free interview only lasted 48 secs 8 of which was adverts.
And the positive from him was we didn’t get any injuries.
    11 changes you know!

    Guy’s full of bs.

Whilst some are calmly asking to see how things look after the first 8 games of the season being more of a realist and looking at our difficult start to the campaign IF lets say we are in the bottom 4 with a couple of points Butler could be under very early pressure and with his demi god status out the window things could get rough.
IMO .. some may agree or not i think our pre seasons are pretty shambolic when it comes to fixtures and how players are used regarding positional changes and minutes in legs.
I still say AB does not have a clue who his first 11 are and where to play them in what system.

Without Roberts .. weaker than last season , i just dont get the opinion we are considerably stronger ..enough to win the NL .. absolute twaddle.

BUTLER OUT will be the call by Sept 30th if .. IF.. the Iron are struggling.

I posted my opinion well before the Buxton game , in fact after the Brigg fixture and im sticking by it .. Butler has not a clue what his favoured first 11 is and more so a consistent system so players can gel into it.
Im not confident at all for the coming season … hope im wrong.

So an unellected SUFC Club spokesperson sends a rubber band to an unellected prime minister.

Whilst being somewhat a harmless attention seeking sort this PD really is a total a clown now taking his self gratification to the world stage …

Though embarrassing lets all smile n move on and pretend it didnt happen.

Tuchel probably read the Andy Butler guide to trying to hold on to a lead and the outcome was much the same.

Tried the magic spray around groin strain area. Probably just a precaution to take him off.
For £6 a month maybe you get an update.

Will sit in blissful ignorance. Even if blessed with untold riches I would give not one penny.
Actually think it is a disgrace, treats some as 2nd class fans. Got money they want to talk to you,
not fortunate having spent all you have they will think about it ! !

Absolutely spot on Sf49 .. i shall remain being a second class outsider fan of 45 yrs thus so my 6 quid in my pension fund or i might “waste” it on a soapy massage ..either way SUFC can whistle.

I can certainly re-post mine. You can’t play a back 3/5 with no WBs. He didn’t have any at the start of last season and eventually realised that. Having had the opportunity during the summer to sign WBs he didn’t, so is, once again , trying a system that can’t work because he doesn’t have the right players.
    Round pegs in round holes.

Nail on head there Cass … players need to be in their natural positions not forced into a place to suit Butlers dream setup .. it didnt work last time and it wont again this IF he decides to try it.

So… Will Infantino’s FIFA allow England to beat Argentina?

I doubt it and fully expect some controversy / bias VAR calls , red cards etc in this one .. FIFA dont want an all European final and going back to the Eygpt debacle it appears Fanny has a hard on for Messi n Co.

Come on. You’re better than that.

I was against the principle of having an unelected group appointed by the club. But the minutes of the last meeting show an ability and willingness to take up important issues. It is not their fault that the club has failed to (consistently at least): meet frequently, field a Director, or to publicise when meetings have taken place. Aren’t these similar issues faced by the Trust? The club doesn’t seem to be taking it seriously.

so basically VOF is a pointless exercise only introduced to appease the fan base when in reality the club dont seem interested.

Does anyone really have confidence in Butler to be able to get this mish mash of new and old players to gel into some sort of decent consistently winning team ? ,, not sure even after the friendlies he will even know his best formation and the correct players to play in their best natural positions .. these are his signings and it will either be hero or zero .. we will have a fair idea after August is done but for me the jury is still out but IMO i dont think Butler has the nowse to do it.

personally i think the new kits are utter gash and would not have one given as would not wear it.. especially the home kit as having the V design it would enhance my man boobs.
Please no third kit it might be worse ..

so did this fella sign or not ?? shambolic either way as it was announced then nothing

Zero club fan updates unless they want your money .. via being an INSIDER , SPONSOR or the usual club SOS begging bowl.
Im getting increasing more negative towards how the club seem to have chosen this path of two tier fan interaction yet still want all to constantly donate to waht should be a fully operational transparent business ..not a charity basing its finances on the love and goodwill of its fan base.
After circa a mere 45 yrs being a fan , all be it the full on 20 years home and away whilst in UK then last 25 overseas i am really loosing any real passion for my home town club which is sad.
Stopped my financial donations and wont be buying this sh8t excuse for a modern day kit, i dont like Butler and for what its worth this mob will struggle as he AB wont be able to combine and gel a consistent winning team as he doesnt know where his players best positions are ..
Signings have been at best ok .. Brennon and Howe being the stand outs but IN MY OPINION hand on heart its gonna be a long hard season in which we will do well to stay up.

Absolutely horrible kits .. poor design cheap n nasty.
There were some suggested images on the SFCFFB page about 3 weeks ago that were excellent yet this is what we got .. please dont bother with a third kit if this is the standard.
Sales might possibly be lower than normal but last years kit was pretty bad and still sold well so who knows… its a fact i wont be having one sent out this year.
I was under the impression fans would have a vote or a say in the kits but appears not, they are only thrown a bone when the club is after rifling the pockets.

Got to agree DM ..the slightest contact and players go down feigning injury at every chance really does spoil the game.
Expect similar antics in the Mexico England encounter which is a 7am KO here so i do plan to watch this one.
    Prediction time .. 3 ways

    1. If the same disjointed England turn up as in their last two games then its 3-1 to Mexico

    2. The England that played second half v Croatia might be enough and make it closer 2-2 @ 90 mins then AET can go either way though more likely Mexico as do expect expect them to have the ref on side and VAR if needed…
May well go pens .. but hope not

    3. A much Improved England (doubtful) i would go 3-1 win T3L

    14 goals in 5 years

He scored 13 goals last season between Alty and Macc so not sure where you’re getting your figures from.

His senior career stats up to joining Alty then Macc (5 yrs) were posted on the club FB page thread announcing him signing .. prior to his last 2 clubs he scored 14 goals in 5 seasons.
Lets hope he shows more of the form when at Macc all be it in a lower league.
Fans from both Alty where he was let go and Macc dont rate him too highly commenting not sure hes good enough for Scunny and its a great move for him.

As i wrote on another thread not enthused by this signing at all .. 14 goals in 5 years , not good enough for Alty and Macc Town and comes with a rumoured bad attitude.
Hope to be proved wrong time will tell.
