IFA back back from his road trip and as promised due to the Iron beating Southend my son and i visited the local kids home / girls home with a 100 quid donation .. was advised they preferred we buy and donate items such as dry foods, sports items and clothing rather than leave cash so thats what we did..IRONically included a couple of footballs amongst the noodles tins of sardines and T shirts.

Being proactive with fan updates is not something SUFC has down as a priority unless of course they need donations sponsors or the good old SOS rally cry for local businesses.

Be very interesting few weeks regarding the pitch and how its being funded let along all the ins n outs staff wise.

Poor pre season and signings then playing players out of position leading to poor results will finally be ABs downfall.
Cant see us attracting the likes of Roberts ability more like scrapping the bottom of the barrel with our financial constraints.
    SO
Im wishing for a miracle of new owners ALA Wrexham as it might be the only way Butler is shown the door and a bigger better quality squad.

without sounding negative towards the great job they have done surely its pretty obvious that the current owners have taken the club as far as they can financially and without new owners or an investor we may well be in the NL for several more years unless it changes to 3 up anytime in the near future.
legit new owners (not full ov wind n piss), new ideas deep pockets and an overhaul hopefully before Butler gets as many years in as Muzzy the bullet dodger has.

    Interesting times ahead.

ifa most certainly not a Butler fan sadly is going know where until at least the mid point of 26-2027 season .. a low place in the table lets say flirting with relegation and even the demigod status he has now (esp on the sufc love fest fb page) may not save his arse.
Im predicting next season wont be as successful as this one as we will be up against the same bigger budget teams whilst Scunny more than likely operating with a weaker squad due to finances.
If there is a clear out and reset is AB the man to build a competitive side… jury still out even after relative success with what he was working with last 2 seasons.

No fee for Roberts who will be leaving (bet my smaller and less beautiful right testicle on that) with earlier noises hes joining Oldham or Rochdale.

Looking forward to the retained list any clues when its being announced ?

After over achieving this season we might well get a dose of mid table reality in 2027 .. hopefully not in a relegation struggle … obviously a lot depends on the soon to be announced retained list, departures of key players ie Ewing n Roberts and more so finding quality permanent signings as replacements which will not be easy…. not relying on loans too much.
Just how appealing SUFC will be to decent names is yet to be seen.

Over on the clappers channel along with all the expected gushing comments on the season i see Poz Dave with his inner circle sauces stating Ewing is definately leaving and going on Roberts post match comments he is too..
Recruitment hasnt been the best in recent years so without quality replacements next season may well be a lot less challenging and Butler must build a competitive team or im sure his heroics of NLN promotion and NL play offs will be forgotten.

Still not a Butler fan and thought his choices for the bench were off the mark for such a huge game Scales , Barrows Rose and a less than fit Boyce included ?? but no Smith Brogan or even Beck more attacking options

IMO and the bookies we are the underdogs which is fine.

We must play 443 but i have a feeling AB will tinker about which i the past has made us look disjointed with players seemingly not sure wtf they need to be and lead to poor performances thus results

If Southend beat us on Tuesday i hope they go up big fan base who travel in numbers and nearly bit the dust a while back .. in fact anyone other than Carlisle and Savage FGR

Heres my list in order of who i want to join York

    Scunny obviously
    Southend in post above
Rochdale points total over 100 they deserve it
BW cos they are not FGR or Carlisle
FGR + Carlisle please NO goes without saying

FGR cos of Savage n the weirdo owner
Carlisle just cos they think they are superior to everyone in the NL

Don’t let a sub-standard soapy massage put you in a bad mood. Only sweetness and light on Bru after a defeat.

Sadly no soapy massage today Cass .. tho i did do a really good impression of our defense whilst having a basic rub down .. “weak limp without any real direction” .. alas today no happy ending here or AAGP.

You should buy a pitch square really you know.

Absolutely not .. the pitch costs should be part n parcel of the BVD economical business plan and hand on heart i would rather my 100 quid go to the local orphanage here than swallowed up in the non transparent fiscal policy at SUFC…
Being a member of the toxic Iron Bru my days of donations that way are done n dusted while the likes of the Unity group and PD are pulling the strings.

    My 2 penneth ..

There does seem to be a fascination in many fans to get past players to “come home” FOR ME IS NOT A GOOD IDEA WHO EVER IT IS .. Sharp has had more clubs then Fred Flinstone so not sure there is any real loyalty or love for Scunny over anyone of the others.

As a player … If hes no longer good enough for Donny then is he still so sharp … read a few comments from Donny fans that hes past it so NO THANKS

As a coach etc .. didnt he apply for the managers / coaches job a while back ? he came to GP to be filmed in the promotional kit launch vid power washing in the stands , he also got sh8t for his celebration when scoring for Donny against us.
His interest in the manager / head coach job fell on deaf ears (thanks but no thanks) and didnt he chuck his toys out the pram shortly after having a pop saying he would never return to Scunny.

Let Mr Sharp drift off into retirement or other avenues within the game ..im sure he will find a club as a player manager somewhere around the non league clubs.

So fickle is the game that never say never and come mid next season and IF the mighty Iron are doing badly in the NL Mr Butler may be toast and Billy can chuck his hat in the penalty box again.

Butler will be between a rock n a hard place when choosing his line up for Saturday ..
pick his first string 11 and anyone gets injured and misses the play off games and he will be lambasted .. alternatively send out all the fringe players and loose ALA Gateshead and confidence may be effected and he will be lambasted … he has to find a happy medium ..NOT EASY.

One thing thats pretty much nailed on is if my prediction of loosing the play off Eliminator next Tuesday comes to fruition we can be ready for the SUFCFB group to be inundated with comments such as

It was a great season regardless of loosing
    Butler has performed miracles
We overachieved with such a small budget
If we had been offered 5th place and play offs at the start of the season everyone would have bla bla bla
    The terrible Pitch cost us
Toxic Iron Bru caused so much negativity

    *********
And the old chestnut and my favourite … We nearly nearly didnt have a club , i think this one will be repeated for at least the next 20 years.

Without trawling back not sure how Farage has come up in a football related thread but im predicting same as i have re Trump that both will be assassinated at some point in the coming months / years ..Farage especially if he is the next PM as im sure such has been the weak immigration policies of both the USA and UK for far too long that there are already sleeper cells embedded within society to carry out such a deed.

A few young lads showing stickers waiting for their balls to drop isnt really a big deal ,ive got a dual language sticker on the back of my truck that says if you can read this YOUR TOO CLOSE !! that doesnt work either.

Back to the footy and i saw a post on FB where the local commentator at Wealdstone ON HOT MIKE referred to Scunny as a fairly big club and also the fans are dick heads.. not very nice at all boooooo boooooo
Also a Carlisle journalist writing Scunny off in the play offs before its started saying the loser in York or Rochdale would play either Scunny or MORE THAN LIKELY Southend again very bad form old chaps.

We shall see how it all pans out in the coming days.

ive just logged in after a a few light ales and a massage so missed the game on HR .. going on reports seemed like a real shitty affair …sadly im sure it will be proclaimed as a “decent point on the road” by Butler and all the happy clapping pillow biters .. when in reality we are limping in to the playoffs with zero momentum UNLIKE the likes of BW and Southend.
Really this crazy over optimistic bollocks that we will win the play offs has to stop .. absolutely not gonna happen.

I went to Foxhills Comp school 1980 -1985 ish and Akys Warren was where we ran cross country during the PE /games periods… cant recall the Games teachers name anyone ??? .. but do remember the more notorious names amongst staff in that era.

Re AAGP pitch .. lets hope its laid properly this time round no mid season Weekender this year will help. suppose its all down to contracts , money and on going budgets if the right expert person comes in.

IFA flattened a bit of Gunness playing field grass in his younger days if that counts as experience should i apply ??

Was it all soapy back then or did good old ky jelly suffice

No such luxury as soap back in those days IA .. lard was my weapon of choice.

back to the pitch and the recurring ad for a grounds person … possibly no one coming forward as it may turn out to be a poison chalice , trying to oversee the laying and maintain a top notch bowling green quality playing surface on what may be a Akys Warren budget.

Agree with a post on another thread
    loose to Wdstone
    win Eastliegh
finish 6th or 7th with an away fixture which will IMO be the end of a great first season back in the NL, as a footnote depending who stays or jumps ship next season may well be a lot tougher with expectations heightened due to over achieving this season.

Obviously i hope im totally wrong and we win the play offs .. just dont think we are good enough this time and i fancy Southend to go up with York.

This is another tricky one to predict with Scunny in ” assured play offs mindset” and what team will Mr Butler pick ???
Wstone playing for pride but im sure the AAGP episode earlier in the season will have been simmering on the back burner and they would love to get one over us.
They are in decent form especially at home and by all reports very unlucky to loose away at Rochdale where they were the better side but missed chances.
Southend playing ominously well hitting form at just the right time need to avoid them and Carlisle IMO

So sorry guys im guessing Butler may tinker with the line up again and its another negative IFA with 2-0 loss prediction.
