Just to get back to the footy, game of the competition so far Egypt v Argentina, unbelievable comeback and a wonder goal by Messi. Egypt should have kept pushing forward IMO and it’s understandable their frustration about no review on the McAllister challenge prior to that winning goal but hey maybe Trump wants Messi in the final.

    Trump?
Living rent free in your head is he?
Was it his fault the Argies were gifted the last one too?

Joke alcy, btw can you do the Trump dance? Belgians were rather good at it after the fourth goal.

Another battling performance from England, Tuchel not happy with his side tonight but we have a world class asset in Jude Bellingham and boy we sure needed him tonight 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

So… Will Infantino’s FIFA allow England to beat Argentina?

I doubt it and fully expect some controversy / bias VAR calls , red cards etc in this one .. FIFA dont want an all European final and going back to the Eygpt debacle it appears Fanny has a hard on for Messi n Co.

Decided to give it a watch last night, gave it up at half time what an horrible watch, first shot on goal for us in the 47th minute, give over.
Obviously more down to Norway than England, they appeared to be playing for penalties from minute one but hoping for that goal against the run of play in which they got.
Obviously can’t comment on the rest of the game.
Be quite happy to just watch a coin toss to decide games rather than play and watch that kind of football. The final excepted of course.

Have to agree Awaywego. Stuck it out a tad longer, second half “hydration” break before I went to bed, fully expecting it to go to penalties as is our usual exit strategy in WC quarter/semi-finals.

England definitely riding their luck, but hey! Lucky teams win stuff!

That’s 2 world cup semi finals out of 3 and 2 successive Euro finals. While we have had our fortune, few teams don’t when reaching this stage, and that consistent level of progression in tournaments shows we have something. Under 2 different managers now, so it cannot be put down to just the manager.

We missed Rice when he came off, but it all worked out. No yellows for him and Bellingham. I was worried about that, but I felt the ref did a good job in letting the game flow and all major decisions were correct.

Fanny must be close to creaming himself, the final FIFA wanted is 90 minutes away.
Makes it doubly unlikely we’ll be allowed to defeat the Argies.

One instruction that I hope Tuchel has drummed into the players:-
DO NOT give the ref any excuse to give you a red card.

VAR will be under orders to review every English tackle to see if they can spin a red card out of it.

Argies will need to be at least a yard offside and England will need to be at least a yard onside.

Infantino hates Europe who give him no votes and lots of criticism. The Trump incident proves he will manipulate the integrity of football to suit his own ends.

Two European teams in the final is his worst nightmare. Trump won’t be too keen either, particularly his 2 least favourite European countries.

‘VAR will be under orders to review every English tackle to see if they can spin a red card out of it.’

Will they? Do you pay for this knowledge on FIFA Insider?

It’s just an opinion Deery. Remember just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.

Officials from the USA I see.
Selected by Donald with a choice of the Presidential Medal of Honor or life in prison depending on the result?

Surely you don’t think that, if Argentina win it’ll be because they’re the better team.

Was Butler the England manager, score then sit back and go 5 at the back.
Best side won by the way.

Tuchel has been tactically excellent till the last 30 minutes of this match after we got in front, then he got it wrong and Argentina deserved to win based on that second half.

      Well the best team won.

Allegedly Tuchel panicked and got on the phone to Gareth after Gordon scored.

What should I do Gareth when you go 1 up in a big game? Obvious Thomas take off your most dangerous player and bet out ball. Replace him with a pedestrian centre back.

5 at the back is the way to win this. Only 35 minutes to hang on. Don’t take my word for it. Andy Butler agrees. 5-4-1 is the formation that wins games.

Aye, that was us all over wasn’t it. Tuchel got that wrong. Gamble that backfired. C’est la vie. Were they Scunthorpe in disguise? Tonight it seemed so.
