Striker due to sign on loan from Hull City. According to articles he was Hull’s top scorer in the u21’s last season and was well thought of in Ireland. He went on loan to Carlisle, but didn’t really work out, but scored a assist against us.
Parker only has a year left on his contract so if he does well here, he may sign a permanent contract with us. I can’t see Hull signing him to an extended contract.
That’s 4 strikers which will be on the books. Is this further indication we’ll be going 2 up top ?
Gale also gave an interview mentioning striking partnerships. 4/4/2 ?
July 6, 2026 at 1:13 pm #322731Or Dec Howe back to Alty?
July 6, 2026 at 6:02 pm #322740Or 2 to start and 2 on the bench. Can have 2 Fwds 2 Mids 2 Defs plus Kpr on the bench.
July 6, 2026 at 6:28 pm #322742A keeper on the bench is a waste, only needed on a very rare occasion.
Much prefer another attacker.July 6, 2026 at 8:31 pm #322744To play Devil’s advocate, when do you think it’s necessary to make 7 outfield subs? Surely a keeper on the bench for the odd occasion it’s needed is a risk adverse approach whilst causing minimum impact to outfield options?

July 6, 2026 at 8:42 pm #322745When you can name 7 but only use 5 it would be madness to not have a sub keeper for 2 reasons.
First you’re pretty much gifting 3 points if your keeper gets injured. Don’t know the exact odds but I suspect a club is fortunate to get through a season without at least 1 keeper injury. We have had 2 broken arms for keepers in the same game in the past.
Second if a manager can’t deal with any game situation choosing 5 outfield players from 6 then you have either got the wrong squad or the wrong manager.

July 6, 2026 at 9:14 pm #322749I would rather have Peter Parker
When I was a kid our next door neighbours who were called Parker had a pig called Porky in their backyard. One day Porky escaped an ran riot in another neighbours veg patch four doors down. We once threw Porky an old football and he was totally useless with it. What a legend Porky Parker🐷
July 6, 2026 at 9:23 pm #322750When you can name 7 but only use 5…
Forgot that part lol. But agree, doesn’t make much sense to me in naming 7 outfield players and no keeper on the bench.

Much prefer another attacker.Until your keeper gets sent off (can happen)!
July 6, 2026 at 11:02 pm #322753or that game a few years ago when both our keepers broke their arms and Boycie went in goal, against Bristol City

July 7, 2026 at 10:43 am #322758This signing was announced on our official website as an initial 6 month loan and then shortly after taken down. Also been broadcast through people on Hull’s side the move had gone through.
No idea what’s going on here. All evidence of it has been deleted off the website. Never known anything like it before.
It’s either fallen through or it’s been incorrectly announced early.
July 7, 2026 at 11:18 am #322759Was it Gale or Parker maybe? They look similar in stature so probably don’t need both.
July 7, 2026 at 12:54 pm #322760Still don’t buy the goalie warming his arse with very little chance of getting on at all.
Butler’s not all that keen played nigh on 25% of games last season without one.
Rochdale didn’t even bother with one in the playoffs.
If we are going to have one maybe start using him and bring him on to give him game time.July 7, 2026 at 1:13 pm #322761There will always be 2 subs with no chance of getting on. Surely good insurance to make one a keeper even if they never get on.
Still leaves a choice of 5 from 6, having 5 from 7 makes it easier to get subs wrong.1 user thanked author for this post.
July 7, 2026 at 1:28 pm #322762Sub GK waste of a spot. Attacking sub SHOULD win you many more points over a season.
July 7, 2026 at 2:07 pm #322763But the other subs can be 2 attackers, 2 MF and 2 defenders. If your first 4 attackers don’t win you the game then your 5th choice isn’t likely to.

Have the privileged few not been informed first ? How remiss, so perhaps it hasn’t happened to be now told first as the privileged few then it will have happened officially !
July 11, 2026 at 8:48 am #322970See on the news Belgium needed a goalkeeper substitution, oh dear.
Could have been such a hero for a lot of bruers! never mind.July 11, 2026 at 4:01 pm #322989So what happened with Mr Parker ?
Did he ever sign ?
July 11, 2026 at 4:09 pm #322991Just a figment of everyone’s imagination.

July 11, 2026 at 6:55 pm #323002so did this fella sign or not ?? shambolic either way as it was announced then nothing
Zero club fan updates unless they want your money .. via being an INSIDER , SPONSOR or the usual club SOS begging bowl.
Im getting increasing more negative towards how the club seem to have chosen this path of two tier fan interaction yet still want all to constantly donate to waht should be a fully operational transparent business ..not a charity basing its finances on the love and goodwill of its fan base.
After circa a mere 45 yrs being a fan , all be it the full on 20 years home and away whilst in UK then last 25 overseas i am really loosing any real passion for my home town club which is sad.
Stopped my financial donations and wont be buying this sh8t excuse for a modern day kit, i dont like Butler and for what its worth this mob will struggle as he AB wont be able to combine and gel a consistent winning team as he doesnt know where his players best positions are ..
Signings have been at best ok .. Brennon and Howe being the stand outs but IN MY OPINION hand on heart its gonna be a long hard season in which we will do well to stay up.July 11, 2026 at 7:02 pm #323005Butler said in the Humberside interview around the Brigg game that Parker was injured which is why the loan move did not go ahead.
August 11, 2026 at 1:11 pm #324472Is he here yet?
August 11, 2026 at 1:20 pm #324473Insiders must know surely.
August 11, 2026 at 1:26 pm #324475Worth the subscription fee alone…
August 11, 2026 at 2:05 pm #324476Last thursday Mr Butler said he would be here on Monday. That he was player no.24 in total and that was it.
