That’s nice to hear, and obviously no rift between him and Butler.

Maybe you won’t be so ready to believe an opposition club’s comms in future? And keep wanging on about it almost every day? ;)

The Alty fan was right about the loan period, I’ve never mentioned a rift between him and Butler on their forum.
You do realise that scunny invoked the 24hr recall from his season long loan don’t you Deerey.

Lol, you claimed numerous times one of the clubs was lying.

Anyhow, hopefully it works out for him and the club, if he really wants to come back, which I assume they’ve had discussions about before making a decision?

And Scunny were the club that was lying.
What don’t you get that Scunny said the loan period was a month and Altrincham official site said till the end of season. If he was only there a month Scunny would have put up they were extending his loan till season end like they did with Maison which I did point out at the time, but they didn’t did they.
Don’t make me bring back all my posts on different threads to show you what I said.
Ps, you never did answer back on the York thread about Alty fan or NI for that matter.

Given the wing options we have now surely he plays through the middle? But for who? Can see him being a sub for a few games at least

If he is only a sub then he will not be with us next season,he went to Alty because he could not get a regular game with us I did not think his relationship with Butler was not good

Realistically Dec is back on the bench unless Whitehall picks up another injury or he is rested in the last game or two before the playoffs.
That does not mean he is not going to get opportunities to have a big impact.
When Whitehall works hard (like he did last night) he’s pretty much done after an hour.
4-3-3 doesn’t work for Dec. Needs to be one of a front 2 but that doesn’t work for Whitehall.
Dec needs to bide his time and keep his gob shut (if rumours are to be believed). He could have a vital role to play.

Whitehall’s looked well off it last few weeks moving like a snail. I wouldn’t mind seeing Howe staring up top with Beestin behind. Can’t see Butler doing that though.

Looked to me like he was carrying an injury Deery hence the couple of starts for Farrell.
Ran out of steam earlier than usual last night and didn’t look too annoyed at coming off which is unusual.
Suspect he’s not been training properly for a while.
If that’s the case then give Whitehall his hour against Halifax then let him have Easter weekend off. Dec then gets his chance to proove he’s a centre forward.

Dec has been scoring goals playing as the central striker in a front 3 for Alty so absolutely no reason he can’t do the same for us.

Thought Whitehall had a good game last night, won a lot of headers up top and generally gave their back line plenty to think about, subbed at the right time to freshen things up and his lack of full fitness is hardly anything new, he’s not been completely right fitness wise for a long time now but he can still be effective in the game time he gets.

    My thoughts exactly DM
Howe will be bench warming 100% .. Jones Roberts Whall up top no room for him on the wing…unless AB plays Howe with those 3 which is POSSIBLE BUT very doubtful

Farrell had a few starts – just have Dec start every one in three – he’ll bag.

With Roberts right and Jones left?

Sounds great if we play the ball quickly to feet or into the space. But of late we’ve been punting it aimlessly upfield from the back.

It may well be the prospect of playoffs which has brought him back.

A big test of Butler’a character and development as a leader. If something has gone on between him and Howe, he needs to sort it and get him back. I suspect Howe being hooked against Horsham was the flashpoint for any discord. Then again, Butler seemed to be lukewarm about him from the outset by repeatedly referring to it being his first season as a full time pro.

He’s in contract, he’s had a great season. Get him back.

If Farrell’s loan is not extended, Butler confirmed he has contingency plans. “We’ve got players out there who are on loan, who we can call back. We’ve got a plan B, C and D,” he said.”

    Mmmmmm? Who could he mean?

Was the acquisition of Dec from Trinity a directors choice rather than Stan’s… is that the reason for his unwillingness to start him as a CF?

Play him in an unnatural role out wide left, a hurrying & a scurrying and you limit his goalscoring opportunities.

Create frustration for the player, don’t show him in his best light, limit his goal scoring chances and therefore goals and the players confidence is bound to ebb… thus showing that the manager ‘knows best’ and that the directors shouldn’t interfere with player recruitment.

    Seen it before.

Played “out of position” early season and scored goals.

The “Directors Choice” will fire his way to the “People’s Choice”

    Good lad Dec!
