I agree.
March 10, 2026 at 11:50 pm #317342Aren’t we meant to have forgotten about Dec Howe by now…..
March 11, 2026 at 7:45 am #317348He’ll be difficult to forget if he keeps scoring for them.

March 11, 2026 at 8:35 am #317355Dec Hoo?
March 11, 2026 at 9:59 am #317370Dec could well sign for Altrincham in the summer and the Butler/ Dec love in will be a thing of the past, I can hear Rene weeping into his white apron as I type.
March 24, 2026 at 8:58 pm #318227Come on Stan, own up… you’ve dropped one!
Boston 1-1 Alty
Dec grabs the equaliser in the first minute after the restart.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 24, 2026 at 9:30 pm #318228Great finish too, lovely little dink over the keeper.

March 25, 2026 at 6:56 am #318297The Pilgrims can’t believe we’ve turned Dec away and sent him down the road away from the holy shrine of GP!
.
Their keeper was having a blinder btw

March 25, 2026 at 7:18 am #318298Aren’t we meant to have forgotten about Dec Howe by now…..
Every goal he scores for Alty reminds us that he is STILL our player!
Stan may see him as Dispensable Dec, HOWEever, there are many of us who see him as Dec the Destroyer.
Easy yarn… “we sent him out to get game time playing as a CF until we changed our personnel and formation to enable him to play in a 4-4-2. He’s come back looking sharper & even fitter, having proven that he can score goals in a struggling team and is looking hungry to accrue more. He’s the man to fire us through the play offs.”
Job done.
March 25, 2026 at 10:15 am #318299Twill be an interesting conversation between Butler and whoever he sent to watch Dec last night.
Commentators said Dec was the best player on the pitch by a country mile.If he weren’t our player you’d imagine we’d be interested in him.
One would be imagine he’s on the radar of a lot of other clubs by now.
Be interesting to know where both of their thought are, more for next season than this.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 25, 2026 at 10:54 am #318302If Farrell’s loan is not extended, Butler confirmed he has contingency plans. “We’ve got players out there who are on loan, who we can call back. We’ve got a plan B, C and D,” he said.”
Mmmmmm? Who could he mean?

March 25, 2026 at 10:58 am #318303Brogan, Campbell and Dec?

March 25, 2026 at 11:23 am #318305Thought Becks move was a permanent one.
Neither him or Chadwick got a game last night in Gateshead’s performance of the season.March 25, 2026 at 11:35 am #318306I thought Beck had been and gone? Or is he there and back?
March 25, 2026 at 12:31 pm #318308I thought Beck had been and gone? Or is he there and back?
You make Beck sound like the young man from Tashkent, whose cock was incredibly bent, with a great deal of trouble he got it in double and instead of coming he went boom boom.
March 25, 2026 at 12:47 pm #318309Definitely there and back.
March 25, 2026 at 1:07 pm #318310Could well be MK who knows, our club said season long loan, the question is can you believe them.
March 25, 2026 at 2:31 pm #318311I’ll bet my house on you not believing them!

March 26, 2026 at 9:42 am #318339A big test of Butler’a character and development as a leader. If something has gone on between him and Howe, he needs to sort it and get him back. I suspect Howe being hooked against Horsham was the flashpoint for any discord. Then again, Butler seemed to be lukewarm about him from the outset by repeatedly referring to it being his first season as a full time pro.
He’s in contract, he’s had a great season. Get him back.

March 26, 2026 at 10:30 am #318344Listening to AB post match it would appear that getting Howe back is not plan A. It might not even be B or C.

It’s becoming more and more apparent something went on that has been publicly unsaid – and, frankly, why should it be public knowledge anyway?
The radio interview after the match last night… The tone of it… Butler seemed to suggest Howe could come back but that would be a last resort.
March 26, 2026 at 11:12 am #318347I get the impression Butler’s dying inside every time Ollie mentions Howe’s name.

March 26, 2026 at 12:10 pm #318350I am not suggesting any dressing room shenanigans (and this remains no more than speculation) should be public knowledge. However, that doesn’t stop us puzzling over why a no-brainer decision (i.e. recalling Howe) isn’t being enacted.

March 26, 2026 at 12:27 pm #318353Looking at bringing another striker in today but Dec seems to be a back burner option if the deal falls through. Seems a strange one, Dec is in form and scoring goals out on loan and with Farrel gone why would you not bring him back, go on AB bring Dec home, give him a chance.
March 26, 2026 at 12:30 pm #318355My thoughts as AB:-
Dec isn’t physically right to be a central striker of 3
I don’t want to play 4-4-2
He doesn’t fit anywhere.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 26, 2026 at 1:09 pm #318358AB has gone 4-4-2 mid game a few times cass, why not have Dec on the bench as an option, you don’t have to go like for like every time you substitute a player.

March 26, 2026 at 1:21 pm #318359If, and it’s a big if, there’s been a bust up, there’s no point in him being recalled if he’s happy at Alty.

March 26, 2026 at 2:07 pm #318364Don’t think anybodys been asking for Dec to be in the starting 11 other than Renee but most want him at least on the bench.
All for him being punished if they have fallen out, always back the manager on that one, but you certainly don’t reward the guy by giving into his demands if that be the case and certainly not just to make him happy.
All that matters is what’s good for our team, he’s OUR player and he’s scoring goals we’ve let Carlton who’d come up with the odd crucial goal, better Howe than some unproven loanee, Butler’s hardly likely to find another gem like Farrell his strike rate on new players isn’t that good.Ps, Apollo Butler’s not been backwards when coming forward of criticising fans on numerous issues.
So I’m reasonably happy there’s no dressing room shenanigans.March 26, 2026 at 5:10 pm #318377Sarcasm aside, that’s a fair point awaywego
