Agree with most recent posts on the subject.

Not very inventive. All he’s basically doing in looking for people to sponsor everything. Is this the kind of creative mindset we really need for alternative revenue streams ?

WGs .. not sure what else there is left to do re alternative revenue streams but this constantly chasing sponsorship is just over kill and whilst its harmless for those not interested it may well irritate some fans when its occurring so often and the reason to sponsor becomes more obscure which was the main point of my earlier post.

Scunny will be treading water in the NL for many a year without more investment however it arrives ..preferably a new owner with loads of spare cash to chuck away.

I see Glyn ‘sponsor player toe nails clippings’ Sparks is fishing for more sponsorship ..this time for the clubs golf day.
Does this guy ever had a day off ?
Does he wake up having dreamt up another plan ?
Is there anything left to sponsor ?

16th June and so far only whispers of what coming to keep fans gagging for more … IMo not the way to go but i would be amazed if a new signing is announce before some one or company had coffed up for the honour of being the TRANSFER SIGNING SPONSOR.

AWG for sure change is needed , preferably new owners investors with deep pockets as that seems like the only way out of the NL league if York n Dale are anything to go by

Not a fan of Butler but lets see how things pan out this coming season with who HE signs and without Cal Roberts.
Agree there are some “well weathered faces” at SUFC not dissimilar to my grans sideboard or Hilda Ogdens ducks they seem to survive season upon season escaping the cut whilst offering over par results time after time…. Muzzie should have gone same time as Lee Turnbul left the building but cant see anything changing with the current club mentality until that elusive new owners comes down the AAGP chimney.

Shaping up to be a very interesting few weeks with signings new kit launch etc .. oh and pre season though must say thats looking a bit weak as it stands.

26/27 season finish anywhere 7th to 20th … even with York n Dale gone funny feeling its gonna be a long hard season with a few others splashing the cash that Scunny simply cant match.

On a very happy ending great to see BS as shirt sponsor so its not all doom n gloom.

Only watched the YouTube eight to nine minute highlights so far, kick off times being unreasonable.
The winning teams seem very incisive in using the wings.

Same here .. extended highlights only as KO times are dreadful ..

    US and Korea looked tasty.

Jocks tomorrow morning 8am KO i MAY MAY tune in as i cut the grass today so tomorrow morning is free.

Such is the poor communication club to fan base i would not even contemplate buying a season ticket if i did live in the UK .. i would pay as i go and pick n choose games depending on my life circumstances and the standard of football on offer in relation to mowing the grass or attending Gala bingo Saturday afternoon megs session .. i would also choose to abstain from these ridiculous Cat A fixtures regardless… purely out of stubborness.

Seriously need players in. The better free transfers are going already. From the buying already of certain clubs in this league, we’ll be lucky to finish midtable.

No doubt we would have been in for some of those already snapped up but the budget is killing us.

There wont be any signings announced until the latest Sparks brain fart ” transfer Announcement sponsor” is contractually locked and and paid up as any transfer dealings announced wold negate the platform on which this idea is based.

Say it again ..the club have little interest in keeping fans updated on most things club related unless its based on donations sponsorship or freebie services which for a professional football club BUSINESS is both wrong and embarrassing.

Whilst we are all waiting with baited breath for the Poz Dave SORRY i mean SUFC announcement of a raft of high quality signings the current situation tends to mean we are heading for a tough season.. so much hangs on who we can get in over the coming month or so.

I am of the opinion finishing anywhere from 7th to 20th is on the cards ..so flirting with both the playoffs and relegation may well happen during the course of the coming season.

Glyn would try to sponsor a dog turd in the car park .. this latest sponsor a transfer is just a piss take.

As mentioned i dont see any harm in these presidents balls etc lets put on a fancy frock n dikky bow no problem so long as its not coming out of the playing fund or even the UG fund raising pot… maybe even make bob or two

Its way better than the direct begging bowl thats been rolled out all to often.

Might mean PD been given an official position?

It would not surprise me in the slightest… he loves to feed the pigeons with his inner circle tit bits from behind closed doors just to let folks know he is relevant.
Possible Farrell coming is my guess … rumoured to be a fan favourite arriving amongst the big PD weeks news.

Rodhdale … promotion winning manager McNulty leaves to become Stockport County boss..

Beware the badge kisser … one minute undying love for Dale and the next hes gone.

Will Dale go after Butler ??

Have you been living under that tree that fell on you? Old news mate from earlier in the week, keep up.

lost track of time since accident and only saw the McNulty headline yesterday .. thankfully on the mend and receiving bed bath assistance from a very nice local ladyboy called Steven whom i can confirm is not a badge kisser.

So will Dale come for Butler and would he go if they do ?? …FINGERS CROSSED EH

Not overly fussed Ewing is leaving as since a move was mentioned a few months back (i think it was Oldham) hes looked like he really wasnt bothered and his early season form dropped off massively

Max Brogan has signed for Kiddy … possibly one we should have kept alas that ship sailed and i wish him well.
Never really given a chance by Butler much the same as Shrimpton.

You say that but who did we actually sign last summer?

Ewing – plucked from Leicester’s youth team with his only real experience being in NLN with Buxton.

Howe – signed from 2 divisions below us.

Dawson – a crock with barely any first team football to his name.

Horton and Belehouan – nobody had heard of them and they weren’t exactly setting the world alight at Gateshead.

Rose – a great signing in hindsight but barely managed 5 games all season.

Chadwick, Eze and Watson – the less said about them the better!

None of these signings particularly got the juices flowing, the best bit of business we did was retaining Roberts for the season. He’s the one who’s going to be nigh on impossible to replace unless we manage to pull a real rabbit out of the hat with our budget. Everyone else we’ve lost so far this summer should be easily replaceable…and that includes Ewing who was chasing shadows for half of the season.

Thats bang on the Big Toe …

As mentioned in a previous post .. loan players other clubs dont need which can or cannot work out , past it journeymen trying to tag another year on to their career or unearthing a rough diamond from somewhere.
its not looking to positive for next season as it stands but thats what happens when theres no money in the bank.
At least we still have a club (not heard that gem for ages just thought i would drop it in)

Still no confirmation from either club he has actually left cunny n signed at FGR or anywhere else… maybe the SUFC are waiting for Poz Dave to announce it first and dont wanna piss on his parade.
So to date to squad that did so well and overachieved last season is gradually being dismantled and IMO we simply dont have the funds or contract length to draw the better players .. shopping at MnS now its heading to the local poundland.

Still waiting on the first new signing probably announced same time as Ewing leaving to soften the blow ..QUALITY new faces desperaTely needed alas Rory Watson is my pick for first IN the door…YIPPEE DOO ..

I don’t think he is using it like that Stu. It’s a rehashed pic and post he shared on the Facebook group months ago that he perhaps thought seemed appropriate to re-post wishing KK good wishes. That’s what I perceived when I saw it anyway. Really not a fan of Dave’s self promotion but he’s not hurting anyone. I’m weary of his posts aswell, particularly those that purport to have secret knowledge of club goings on, but he won’t be the first and last to be guilty of that, so I mostly ignore it tbh. I would imagine many do.

    Good summary DM
I too find PDs postings harmless but a bit sickly especially the supposed insider knowledge internal goss and his constant reminders how he is “in” with certain players etc .. i just ignore him now, that said Stu does have a point re Daves recent offering with KK and just a pic of KK without Dave would have been a better option perhaps.

Times are hard in paradise .. i NOW have to shave my soap into weekly packs of slip n slide fun.

What makes a Scunny legend …
    Who is a Scunny legend…
Keegan , Brownsword , Thomas … ADD YOURS HERE

My reason for asking..I see on the FB pages Cal Roberts has now been elevated to legend status though im not sure the period of time he was at the club and where we were playing NLN mostly really warrants such a tag, might just be me being cynical but IMO its a tad premature and used to garner more income for the UG mega shirt raffle.
At least a bit of clarity on where UG funds raised will be spent gives punters a better idea if to join in or abstain.

WHILE ALL REMAINS DEATHLY QUIET ON THE SUFC TRANSFER FRONT …
Its a double swoop by Macc T .. as well as Finn they just signed Kiddy shot stopper Dibble , if i recall he was a dam good keeper and surprised Kiddy didnt keep him ..much the same as Shrimpton at Chester .. 8 goals in 8 games he was a big part of them slipping in the back door for the play offs , a lot of Chester fans cant fathom him being released also.

I’ve swapped my boxers for a thong, does that answer your question?

Indeed it does Cass … a scary thought and one that should never be put into picture form just in case you were thinking of posting them on here.

Too hot to work so I’ve been looking for something to do and found these disturbing stats.
    1. We had easily the worst defensive record in the top 7.
    Conclusion – we need defenders.
    2. 7 defenders made a significant number of appearances (230) and managed to produce 2 goals.
Conclusion – we need defenders that can score a few.
    3. Our much praised MF trio made 125 appearances and scored 6 between them.
Conclusion – a couple of goalscoring midfielders might be useful.
    4. Top goalscorer gone and his quality unlikely to be matched by any replacement.
Conclusion – the defenders and midfielders will have to step up markedly in the goalscoring department. Is it unreasonable to expect 10 or so from the defenders (especially if they can’t defend) and maybe 20 from MF?

Daft question Cass .. is it hot in the UK now , ive not checked but seen a few ppl on SM seemingly even taking off cardigans, string vests and even socks .. can this be true ??

There is an order to things at SUFC
    1. The announcement of the retained list.
    2. The announcement of out of contract players signing elsewhere
    3. The announcement of a draft pre season friendly programme
    4. The announcement of a marque signing/re signings of OOC players
    5. The announcement of a finalised preseason programme
    6. Players reporting back for training
    4/5/6 may be interchangeable
    7. The appearance of triallists ABCDEFGHI and J in said pre season games
    8. Start of Season
    9. The announcement of Triallists ABC and D signing 1 year “bench warmer” terms
    10. The announcement of season long loans for players you have probably never heard of.
We are only currently of step 2 of the process!

Whilst i admire your idea of how things SHOULD happen Phil its not that black n white ..

The better players will all be long gone by the time we get to SUFC step 4 .. so pecking about for the crumbs is about it.
Maybe down to finances but why do so many other clubs like Yeovil seem to make early statement signings while Scunny always leave it until the last chance saloon .. we are always so slow out the blocks its like we re sweeping up other clubs player litter.

    no money no honey

    no cat fixtures last season
York Dale replaced by Barrow n Harrogate
    so whats changed ??? ..
Will extra stewards police be required if thats the reason its BS
    or
Is it just a back door slippery way to squeeze a few extra quid from fans who have not purchsed a season ticket

Either way appears a tad strange to me
