Well if we don’t have a club we can all do something else then, like reminiscing, actually I’d rather we have a club thanks. Look it’s about money and yes we need extra funding and if it doesn’t arrive that’s just tough. Life will still continue and our club will keep playing somewhere in whatever division. I know I’m stating the bleeding obvious but it is what it is.

If a league club doesn’t come in for Ewing perhaps he’s not as good as we think he is. And lets be honest there wasn’t great excitement when we signed him to think play-offs here we come. Lets see what we start with in Aug before we give up on the season

Yes an early one for me Deerey, Butler asked if I’d do a bit of scouting in Crete going to look at Georgios Dropalote he’s currently playing in under 14 schoolboy team.

They really are. Kind of bizarre that ‘at least we have a club’ has become the devil’s spawn.

That’s what young lads have to do iron64 go out to a smaller club and believe in your ability and yourself, and prove Leicester maybe got it wrong.

I think he was a good player for us, I think for a while he changed the dynamic and brought energy that we were missing the previous season, similarly Dec Howe .He was one of our better players over all.

3 goals (including a pen) and only 2 assists might suggest he wasn’t as influential as perhaps we thought..especially going forwards.

Never judge whether to buy a season ticket on who may stay or go, been watching the Iron since 1964 so I just keep renewing because it’s cheaper and they are my team. What will be will be.

Pre Xmas/New Year, yes 100% agree. After that he looked like he was playing in treacle and chasing shadows. His best game for us was on the opening day of the season away at Tamworth which says a lot!

Didn’t expect him to move to another national league club not pulled any trees up for us.
Hopefully AB has a couple of signings up his sleeve ready to surprise us with their quality

Not overly fussed Ewing is leaving as since a move was mentioned a few months back (i think it was Oldham) hes looked like he really wasnt bothered and his early season form dropped off massively

Despite what’s written here, along with Robert’s and, arguably Westbrooke they were in the Top 5 performers for us last season. No one has taken the slightest interest in our dross at the back. Lots of work to do in the market

There’s a lot of rewriting of history going on atm. Turns out that Ewing and Westbrooke were terrible players. If these are ones we can’t afford, don’t expect much next season.

They were both decent having promised to be better than that when they first arrived.
Agree with Ironawe they were top 5 performers but nowhere near as important to the way the team played as Roberts, Rowley or Whitehall for whom we didn’t have able deputies.
Beestin when properly fit is better than both of them because he creates things and has a goal in him. Not quite as defensively disciplined as Westbrooke and Ewing so our cautious manager never started him unless he had to.
Butler does not have a track record of bringing in goal scoring or assist generating players. Dec is the only exception and Butler can’t work out what to do with him.

Butler has his work cut out to replace Roberts, Ewing and Westbrooke from the bargain bin or he might be delivering post again by Christmas.

Neither was terrible – but neither was good enough to win the NL Belehouan d’Or.

Agree with all of this. They were decent enough, but neither Ewing nor Westbrooke really lived up to their early promise, or their potential. I feel like Ewing’s head was turned around January time and he didn’t get it together until towards the end of the season – by which point I would imagine he already knew he was off to the land of almond milk and manuka honey.

Westbrooke a bigger loss than Ewing in my opinion (although he wasn’t really ours to lose). We’ve had all this before, our midfield was supposedly doomed after we lost Butterfield but things haven’t turned out too badly since he left.
