Not sure where the CODs are getting information about our ticket sales from as we cannot find out ourselves about them, probably more close season bullshit I’m guessing, who knows who cares what codheads think anyway.

Heard somewhere we had sold about 2,200 a couple of weeks ago. Might have been the Butler interview.
Don’t know if that’s good or bad relative to last season. Not the sort of thing the club shares as it doesn’t have a sponsor.
Suspect every Scunthorpe fan is disappointed at Roberts departure but whilst that might stop the odd casual attendee most fans willing to buy a season ticket are those that support through thick and thin.
Was reported by the club just before deadline day for early bird,approaching 2000, at the the same time on tuther side some random said 2300.
I believe sales will be down, some probably sitting on their hands at the moment, given no marquee signings as of yet, Butler and the fans, and Butler 70% effort sides. And the Club letting fans down again with ticketing for the big games.
Club said last year just under 2600 sold.Lots of other clubs as we well know give a running commentary on sales alas not us.

Just read from the club, of June the 8th nearly 2000 sold, so that could mean anything north of 1500 but below 2000.

Seriously need players in. The better free transfers are going already. From the buying already of certain clubs in this league, we’ll be lucky to finish midtable.
No doubt we would have been in for some of those already snapped up but the budget is killing us.
There wont be any signings announced until the latest Sparks brain fart ” transfer Announcement sponsor” is contractually locked and and paid up as any transfer dealings announced wold negate the platform on which this idea is based.
Say it again ..the club have little interest in keeping fans updated on most things club related unless its based on donations sponsorship or freebie services which for a professional football club BUSINESS is both wrong and embarrassing.

If you go on their forum, they’ve got a thread on Us, Hull and Lincoln pinned at the top. Only one missing is Grimsby’s most popular team, Liverpool.
500+ pages. Forever on their mind, but many of us think a lot about them, to be fair.
That said, the radio silence from the club is annoying. After last season I thought it was vital the club air something to build fan morale, but it has been the usual lack of communication which builds fan paranoia and concern, which will impact season ticket sales. And any questions gets the eye rolls and disdain from the board in favour of vague positive vibes from Positivity Dave and co that tell us little.
I, like many do find a reluctance to give any bits of interest provoking information.
They have names signed – could easily have said some intro vids being worked on. I am sure little teases could have been said.
The close season is the most important time for the club to really engage with the fans – yes it would help boost season ticket sales.But to qualify the ‘season ticket boost’ – we have to remember the economy is not healthy and some regulars may actually be worried about their job coupled with rising bills.
All many have had is literally watching ‘Grass Grow’ !

And yet they test fan loyalty by increasing prices by 17% and then introducing category games in the National league FFS.

Probably a few hundred down as of last year, however last years ST sales, and average attendance was higher than the historical norm. If we hit 2500 we will still be selling more than we did for the majority of our time in the EFL.
Could the club do more ? Absolutely. Personally I don’t think there has been a big enough push on social media nor the around the town to convince casual supporters to invest in a ST. Something to work on next year as 3,000 is doable under the right circumstances. Although I don’t buy into the notion that signing players by now would’ve made a difference, people get desperate for signings earlier every year.
Also it’s a bit rich coming from the cods about crowds when the were averaging 3,000 year on year in the national league after basically abandoning the club because fenty ran them on shoestring.

Agreed. Definitely something for the club to look at for next year.
Just listened to the interview with Michelle on Humberside whom states the figures on par with last year which is reassuring.
