I’m certain I said this on another thread, but for some reason I have a strong suspicion he’ll go to York – the geography / travel from Newcastle…

None of my sauces have come up with any credible answer to where Cal is heading ..but im gonna say either Barcelona OR Rochdale… although i hear the Cods, Rotherham and Bradford were in the hat.

Can only wish him the best. Been a credit as a professional and stood by the club when others would have have not had
    a second thought.

The fans will back his decision 100% and down the road he knows where this club and fans are.

Not too bothered about Roberts going,I’m glad we had him but think his one footedness and Whitehall’s statue impression were a bad combination.
Let’s hope Butler builds a team

People online saying it’s a club in black and white who are signing him, but not of the fishy or Geordie variety.

Yeah the 80 odd goals between them showed what a bad combination they were.
Tis it cos Hilton and Dean signed them you have that chip on your shoulder.

Was inevitable but still a bit of a gutter. Just look back at some of the games this past season where his individual moments of brilliance have won us the game or got us a point. There are games where we quite literally wouldn’t have created a chance if he wasn’t on the pitch.

Will be very difficult to replace and I hope it’s not with Kyle Hurst but have a feeling it will be.

LeftToe, if we get Sellars flemming on loan with Jones on the other side we’ll be fine. Connor Smith may actually turn up this season !

A great player for us however, if he is to be successful at the EFL level he will need to learn how to use his right foot.

A former work colleague and Notts fan has told me there are some Pies fans who are not happy due to his previous injury record while with them. I think the may have a point. It’s a bit of a gamble I reckon.

Leaving money aside you can’t blame him for taking the chance to move up two divisions and I wish him all the best. Now AB must move quickly for Jack Noble.

Aye, but they’ll change their minds if he stays fit

What makes a Scunny legend …
    Who is a Scunny legend…
Keegan , Brownsword , Thomas … ADD YOURS HERE

My reason for asking..I see on the FB pages Cal Roberts has now been elevated to legend status though im not sure the period of time he was at the club and where we were playing NLN mostly really warrants such a tag, might just be me being cynical but IMO its a tad premature and used to garner more income for the UG mega shirt raffle.
At least a bit of clarity on where UG funds raised will be spent gives punters a better idea if to join in or abstain.

Roberts nagh, Keegan nagh, Keegan at Liverpool I would imagine so.
Got to have put the years in or score some important goal, Byrne and Garcia did both.
Kevin van Veen for his goal at Grimsby the only time in my 58 years of watching we won at their place.
Goalies, Barnard and Murphy deserve to be there imo.

Someone mentioned Keegan, I see today he’s confirmed he’s stage 4 with his cancer, such a shame, genuinely nice bloke and a great ambassador for the game, I still remember Kevin fondly from his time with us as a player, I was only a young teenager but my mates and I thought he was brilliant, great example to follow for any young player wanting to get on in the game.

Weren’t you there when Nigel Cassidy scored the winner in 1969?

Also, did anyone go to Blunder Park when we “tonked”the Mariners 3-1 with David Sloan scoring a hat-trick in 1966( i won’t mention the match I went to the following season in 1966!!)

No first Grimsby away was in 71 on a good Friday, back then it was tradition being a fishing village but no real tradition for a day off in Scunny.
Trains in them days stopped at Grimsby town during off season, police lined us up outside station and told us to split up into no more than 3 people, got chased everywhere and it’s not a short walk from there.
They were the days, such a relief to get home safe from many a game didn’t matter where we went we were always outnumbered, and always went in the home end though, no segregation back then.
