I see they are putting down a Hybrid carpet pitch. Does anybody know what this is? Is it temporary or is it the finished product? Does hybrid mean part plastic part grass?

It’s permanent, a great move.
The club would like anyone with a watering can to help out in the hot dry weather. 🥵May 26, 2026 at 10:47 am #321129On the face of it, this looks like a very positive approach. Does anyone know what level of work it represents based on the “Pounds for Pitches” fundraiser?
May 26, 2026 at 10:54 am #321131For a full-sized professional pitch, total installation ranges from £500,000 to £1.5 million, depending on drainage, shock-pad layers, and stadium specifications
May 26, 2026 at 11:12 am #321132May 26, 2026 at 11:24 am #321133“Pounds for the pitch” another failed effort looking at raising £100,000 they didn’t get to a quarter of the first target of £10,000, (there were 6) billy the squib never took off I’m afraid.
Their pitch squares faired better with over £13,000 raised so far.
Glad to see they’re going the right way with an hybrid.May 26, 2026 at 12:33 pm #321136Definitely a good thing. Forest Green have a hybrid pitch and it looked bloody fantastic all season.
May 26, 2026 at 4:31 pm #321141The club need to make the most of it, get a premier league team to officially open it in a friendly after the world cup finishes, Hull city will do, go for the holy trinity and get the cods and Lincoln here as well.
Money to be made certainly more than the Weekender or the family day. Obviously class them all as category A games to pay for stewarding and policing.May 26, 2026 at 5:18 pm #321146Didn’t Rochdale go down this route mid-season?
May 26, 2026 at 5:22 pm #321148Images on the club website looks impressive.
Are we old enough to remember Acksminister carpets … ?? i miss a nice carpet, im told Whetherspoons do some nice options also.
May 26, 2026 at 7:53 pm #321157Looks good progress on the pitch
Did I miss something but wasn’t the perimeter wall supposed to be removed surely we wouldn’t lay the new pitch then bring machinery in to remove the wall and replace with whatever is going thereMay 26, 2026 at 9:07 pm #321160Appears the grant is being put to good use. About time after last seasons debacle.

June 11, 2026 at 10:55 pm #321823Do we have to repay any of the £750 k or is it just the additional £250 k the Club have to find ?
June 12, 2026 at 9:05 am #321830Do we have to repay any of the £750 k or is it just the additional £250 k the Club have to find ?
It’s a £750 k grant not a loan, you don’t repay a grant we just need to find £250 k.
June 12, 2026 at 12:20 pm #321844£750k Grant is fantastic news !
£250 k will be harder to find.June 12, 2026 at 1:09 pm #321846£750k Grant is fantastic news !
£250 k will be harder to find.True but it’s easier to find then £750 k, it’s a good financial deal for the club for a pitch with a ten year guarantee , as many have already said the club needs a financial restructure because going cap in hand to fans time after time is wearing thin and will ultimately weaken support IMO.

June 12, 2026 at 2:54 pm #321849I think a 750k grant is wide of the mark. The panel that decides how much we will get hadn’t sat as of last week. There are also parts of the work that the grant does not cover, so I would imagine the short fall is pretty significant.

June 12, 2026 at 4:25 pm #321858So if the Grant has nt been decided yet then we have gone ahead with the work without knowing exactly how much we will have to finance !
Doe nt seem the right way to go about things to me.June 12, 2026 at 4:28 pm #321859I think a 750k grant is wide of the mark. The panel that decides how much we will get hadn’t sat as of last week. And once again, we are talking Scunny.
Anyone else remember us applying for a grant to extend/rebuild one of the stands,?
We got nowt but moneybags ManUre got £millions to put another layer on one of their stands.
One rule for the rich clubs, same old same old.June 12, 2026 at 7:31 pm #321860So if the Grant has nt been decided yet then we have gone ahead with the work without knowing exactly how much we will have to finance !
Doe nt seem the right way to go about things to me.What was the alternative? Continue playing on a farmers field?

June 12, 2026 at 8:14 pm #321862With the talk of grants of £750 k plus the Club having to put upwards of £200k towards it , that’s the best part of a million pounds !
So where’s the extra money coming from if we don’t get the full grant of £750k ?June 12, 2026 at 10:12 pm #321863Positivity Dave’s Only Fans Account.
June 12, 2026 at 10:14 pm #321864Fair point. Pitch is non negotiable though and previous lack of investment and poor planning have resulted in this big spend. Borrow the funds if there’s a shortfall I guess?

Xxx’s duty surely? May as well serve some purpose.
June 13, 2026 at 11:11 am #321873Quite a bit about the pitch from George Achingbrain in the new interview on BBC Sounds. The most significant investment in the pitch since it was first laid in 1988, and there should be some contribution to it from an outside source (which, I paraphrase, has not quite been signed off yet).
June 13, 2026 at 12:24 pm #321875‘Not quite’ sounds like they expect it to be. Unlike a cheque that’s ‘not quite’ signed, and is completely useless.
June 14, 2026 at 11:25 am #321902As the old saying went ‘ The cheque is in the post ‘ !
