2-0 up but could easily be 3-2 down…defence looks awfully shaky!

Had an injection and back on Saturday according to Butler.

Not quite sure about the lineup tonight, guessing it’s a 4-3-3 with a forward line of Farrell, Jones and Beestin.

Absolutely we want promotion. Is the current squad good enough for that level? Possibly.

Teams going up from the NL playoffs have generally performed well in recent seasons…just look at Bromley.

1 win in 8. With 10 games left and form like this, will we even reach 70 points? Playoffs are in no way, shape or form nailed on!

Hope he’s better than Smith, shocking again thus far.

Carlton will always be a club legend for that goal but sadly I think NLN is his level. Hope he does well!

From what I’ve seen written online by Chester fans and others this Jones fella is a bit of a coup! Not sure how many wingers Butler thinks we can fit in the squad though (Roberts, Smith, Dausch, Hurst, now Jones, Beestin started there most recently at Aldershot, Howe if/when he comes back).

I miss George Kerr’s regular updates on the 15:08 to Doncaster.

First half was awful and Yeovil were extremely lucky to not go in ahead. Whitehall shithousery and general falling over strategy eventually got us a pen but we did not deserve to be ahead at that point of the game.

However, Dausch and Farrell changed the game when they came on, particularly with Dausch stretching Yeovil’s defence and getting in behind multiple times. Farrell was a handful, moves around well and should have had a hat trick. Smith did nothing, looks a different player to the one we had previously. Barrows awful (again)…gave the ball away at least into the double digit figures. Some in the crowd cheered when he got taken off which isn’t a great sign.

Overall, good away performance in the end and well happy to come away with 3 goals, 3 points and a clean sheet.

Farrell on the bench.Shouldn’t he be started. ??

Switched back to a 4-3-3 so not unless you drop a striker who scored a hat trick last weekend.

Does anybody truly think that with the attitude and mannerisms shown by AB that he will in any way, shape or form take on board any sort of constructive criticism aired towards him and his team via this forum? I certainly won’t be holding me breath.

If Roberts doesn’t get offered/sign a new contract then we won’t be doing shit next season. Pretty much every decent attack we have goes through him.

Boston need a defender, they sign Jamie Grimes on loan who’s won the National League as Chesterfield captain. We need a defender we sign a kid on loan who’s never played a senior game of football before.

Better second half massively helped by the red card. But why oh why as soon as we went ahead did we start creeping back into our own half? There was no need!

19 goals conceded in 6 games, with 3+ goals conceded in 5 of those. Defensive shambles!

Absolutely dreadful so far, and I really do mean dreadful!

What is this awful formation and lineup with no wingers? Two big lads up front with no wingers to put in crosses for them when a couple of weeks ago we signed 3 of them!! Butler is coming across as not having a clue what he’s doing.

Throwing 2 kids into the lineup with zero experience at this level (and pretty much none at all!) is obviously not the answer.

Absolute shit show today. We just cannot defend at the moment, not helped by Mahady handing them the first goal (again). Powder puff in midfield, Ewing couldn’t get near anyone (what’s happened to him since the turn of the year!?).

1 win and 15 goals conceded in the last 6 games (with the 1 win being a total smash and grab against Southend). New signings have so far contributed the combined sum of zero. The wheels have well and truly come off, something ain’t right in camp Scunny.

Regarding the penalty, just had a look on the FA website at the rules…any “illegal feinting” results in an indirect free kick being awarded and a caution (yellow card) being shown to the kicker.

The ref got it spot on, Dieseruvwe clearly completed his run up and then stopped, i.e feinted. Don’t think he touched the ball and he didn’t need to for the refs outcome to be correct.

If we can go back to the performance shown at Boreham Wood away then we’ve got every chance of getting a result. Play anything like we have since that night and Rochdale’s goal difference will probably increase significantly.

6 in the league (from 15 starts), 10 if you include the cups (including the Mickey Mouse NL Cup).

Starbuck always takes soooo long to get the ball out from under his feet, like he’s in slow motion and gets caught far too often.

Not sure if we can say if Smith is a bad signing or not yet but what have Hurst, Smith or Dausch done that Dec Howe wouldn’t have done? Absolutely nothing.

I’ve always liked Brogan, works hard, not shy of a tackle and can clearly pop up with a goal out of nothing. He’s never really been given a run of games to settle into the side.

For all of Ewing’s strong points, 1 goal from open play this season (on the opening day) is pretty poor for a more advanced midfielder.

Don’t understand why Bellahoun doesn’t get more of a run out at full back. Denton is a real concern for me. His passing is awful and his defending leaves a lot to be desired. He seems to switch off quite a lot in important situations. I would feel confident meeting Carlisle in the playoffs if it came to that.

Think Belahouan is injured. But regarding Denton’s passing, it was his peach of a cross field pass that setup our only goal Vs Southend.

The funniest lines were around Horton being “vertically disadvantaged” and the offside law should be changed so that if you’re in an offside position when the ball is played but then receive it in an offside position, you should be deemed onside as it’s “just clever play”.

Real amateur hour stuff. DAZN should give the option for either commentary, Ollie Turner and Torps do a stellar job.

Has this Carlisle commentator ever watched a game of football before? Spouting some absolute horse manure!

So poor from Mahady, 64 will be loving that.

The double standards being applied to Mahardy mistakes are as evident as the disgraceful bullying of Campbell. As for Beck there was a lot of online noise but I remember him scoring and the majority being genuinely pleased for him personally

If you’re going to keep bringing up Mahady with comparisons to Campbell, at least get his name right.

There’s a reason Mahady has been signed for the rest of the season and Campbell sent out on loan to a club THREE divisions below us.

Howe has done fairly well this season but he doesn’t really fit the system and Butler now has Smith and Dausch that look better suited to the role.

His goal return has been ok considering he has not played through the middle, but he is a bit limited and lacks a bit of quality. He could easily be sitting on 20 goals as he’s missed a hatful of easy chances.

Much will depend on how Dausch gets on but I think Howe will probably be quickly forgotten.

Seems like the one who’s been quickly forgotten is the one who’s actually starting in that position at the moment…Kyle Hurst!

Their squad size is irrelevant, he went back to Coventry because he clearly wasn’t deemed good enough to get in FG’s team (managed to make 11 appearances off the bench so couldn’t have been that seriously injured).

He worked hard today in his brief cameo but that’s no different to what Dec would have done. Still find it a very strange decision unless Dec forced the move himself.
