Absolute shite! Southend making us look like a pub team.
August 15, 2026 at 3:28 pm #324666Flashscore has us with only 19% possession 🙁
Please don’t tell me he’s trying to sit on a 0-0 ???August 15, 2026 at 3:30 pm #324667Flashscore has us with only 19% possession
Please don’t tell me he’s trying to sit on a 0-0 ???We’re already losing alcy

Please don’t tell me he’s trying to sit on a 0-0 ???Trying to hold on to a Shrimp 1-0 Iron
:-(August 15, 2026 at 3:38 pm #32466919% possession is probably being kind, can’t get near them.
August 15, 2026 at 3:51 pm #324673Changes needed, midfield is terrible and lopsided. Our two best footballers in Rowley and Butterfield on the bench with Gale and Richards chasing shadows. Hard to watch so far.

August 15, 2026 at 4:05 pm #324674Whitehalls not playing because of his performance against Yeovil. He did absolutely nothing
August 15, 2026 at 4:21 pm #324675So now we’ve gone 3-5-2 with Ogle (not a wingback) and Pat Jones (not a wingback) as our wingbacks. Butlerball at it’s best.

August 15, 2026 at 4:27 pm #324676Watching on TV. It’s like Rochdale away in the play-offs this.

August 15, 2026 at 4:56 pm #324678According to RH they could not understand why Southend did not score three or four although Lewis Jones was our man of the match
August 15, 2026 at 4:56 pm #324680That was bad, like, really bad. Could have easily been 5/6 nil. 0 shots in the 2nd half when you’re supposed to be chasing the game…awful.

August 15, 2026 at 5:11 pm #324685It’s been a while since we had a season of mid table mediocrity.
Just when we had 15 minutes of holding our own in the game poor man’s Pep comes up with a master plan.
If you’re going to park the bus why pick an attacking line up?
We have 1 defensive midfielder so obviously we don’t need him. We have 1 wide forward with defensive discipline so don’t even put him on the bench.
Rowley and Smith in case you’re wondering.
One of the biggest 1-0 hammerings we’ve had in a while. They’re a very good side with a very good manager though (says Butler,PD and nobody else).
August 15, 2026 at 5:11 pm #324687Your gloating is hard to bear,Rene.

August 15, 2026 at 5:20 pm #324696Poor goal to concede, totally avoidable. So we could have come away with a draw which we certainly didn’t deserve.
Team looked unbalanced. Pat Jones playing far too deep. Sloppy play from both fullbacks. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Barrows and Denton back against Eastleigh.
Pressure on Bultler if we don’t get three points next Saturday.

August 15, 2026 at 5:30 pm #324697Sarfend have noticeably improved last season’s side.
The Iron have not – and this is compounded because AB hasn’t a clue what his best side is. (I am not blaming him for that – I have watched the Iron over 60 years and I’m far from sure.)
GK needs several kicks up rear even though he helped in preventing a massacre.
CBs great.
Working to a plan? – Not much of a plan.1 user thanked author for this post.
August 15, 2026 at 5:41 pm #324698Rene is a realist. Two games in and we are struggling to create chances. That needs fixing first or mid table mediocraty will be a good season. Ourselves and Carlisle are the early doors fall guys, whilst Hornchurch and Sutton are the surprise packages! Eastleigh will be interesting, lose there and we will be struggling. Difficult to see us beating Harrogate or Borehamwood at home.

August 15, 2026 at 6:00 pm #324700Reality will bite this season, will be an abject season and a long one at that.
Apparently from WG’s statement to me the league is not as good as last season. B’s it’s equally if not harder and will never be easy as there will be always a few teams spending to get out.
That appears on last season the only way out.Unfortunately we don’t have the ammunition to do such things.
Early doors but to start on the back foot ain’t great. And abject performances won’t help.
I’d say give it 5-6 games more and we are mid to lower table gates will fall.Don’t get this manager doesn’t know his best 11.

August 15, 2026 at 6:01 pm #324701A very good turn out from your fans, but it ended there. Once we scored there was only one team in it and a higher score line would not have flattered us. I really was expecting more of a challenge.

August 15, 2026 at 6:08 pm #324704What did we learn about Parker?
eg) Is he better than Smith?August 15, 2026 at 6:46 pm #324708I think we will have to give him the ball before we learn if he can do anything with it Les.

August 15, 2026 at 7:34 pm #324713What did we learn about Parker?
eg) Is he better than Smith? Not a lot but why would you compare him (a striker) to Smith (a midfielder/winger)?
Some things I have learned over the past two games…Richard’s ain’t a patch on Westbrooke and must have something on Butler to start ahead of Rowley, Pat Jones is quick but has almost zero technical ability, James Gale is not a number 10.
Big improvement needed at Eastleigh.
