I would support the Cods rather than wear a PD wristband.

Extreme, but I get that sentiment.

    ✌🏻

Just not feeling it this season. Hopefully results will make me hanker to pay GP a visit.
Football has been relatively boring tbh. Can’t stand the sideways and backwards passing just to come off the field to hark on about that we had 60/70% of possession.

    Been watching Scunny since 77.

Footballers should be paid solely on results and not just for turning up.

Think the Rochdale match No show and the World Cup debacle by our home nation shows that sometimes a reset is needed.

‘Footballers should be paid solely on results and not just for turning up’

Can you or Alcazar, who’s liked this comment, explain how they would make a decent and secure living when results aren’t going their way or are unused squad players? Or are you advocating they go part time and supplement their income with other jobs? Should we just become a pub team club?

It should be more heavily biased towards results in the wages rather than as I put it ‘solely’ just for you DM.

I know there are win bonuses, clean sheets goals scored etc.

But it’s far too easy to go missing in a match or as we have heard on many occasions when you’ve made the effort to travel away but your team hasn’t turned up.

We see players on over 300k a week not putting a shift in.
    Far too easy

Agree with all of that, if their pay is not ‘solely’ based on results.

They started 25 years ago as PredictA. They were so s**** at predicting that season that they changed their name to PredictB hoping that people would think they were a new company.

    Part time, yes.
Some of ours had other jobs in the old D4 team, or previous, I’m sure.
Before footballers wages got out of hand.

With the inevitable drop in quality and league level with simultaneous dwindling gates and inability to afford to run GP, would you be happy with the club as a level 7-8 operation playing at Quibell?

Here is how I see it going tomorrow. We will set up 433 with Whitehall and two wide players as our front 3, possibly Hones and Brennan. Butterfield will be centre mid, with Rowley and Richards either side. Yeovil will possibly set up similar and will look for a quick ball over the top, our out wide. We will start well and create a number of chances, including a stonewall penalty or perfectly good goal ruled out by Shit refereeing. One of Yeovil’s quick balls ( at least) from which they will score. We will continue to be frustrated in front of goal, possibly riding our luck to be a goal down, until AB makes his first subs which will be Beestin ( for Butterfield) and Howe( for Brennan). Cue equaliser, in which one or both subs play a major part. Further Butler subs, possibly going to a back 5, winner in the last 10mins from Dec Howe. Performance: lots of effort m, but to little quality, especially in final third. Defence shakes with glaring lapses in concentration at times!

Interested to see this from Yeovil, a fair assessment?

“If you wanted to genetically engineer a striker that you’d love to play for you, but hate playing against you, you’d probably end up with the genes of Scunthorpe’s Danny Whitehall in your test tube. The 30-year-old opened the scoring from the penalty spot when the Iron won 3-0 at Huish Park last March and picked up a booking – standard. He’s someone who will probably empty Jos Barker’s water bottle at the first opportunity, is guaranteed to be in the referee’s ear when he’s hurled himself to the floor when the Yeovil defence looked at him sideways, but give him a chance in front of goal and there’s a good chance he’ll take it.”

    I think it’ll be 2-1 to us.

I’ve had a win to us in my NL Acca.

    But;
    I’ve had £2 on 3-3 at 50/1

There’s often a goal fest on the opening & closing weekends of a season.

Never saw that starting line up coming out Butlers magic hat … very strange , changing my prediction from a 1-1 to a 1-0 loss ..

Barrows starts … OGLE , ROSE and SMITH not involved.

Where will Dec Howe play in this line up is also open to conjecture.

Barrows surely 5th choice right back but starts ahead of Ogle, Rose, Starbuck and JB. Very strange!

I think Starbuck and Rose are carrying knocks. No Idea why Ogle is in the frame, although I will say Barrows had a reasonably good preseason. Also, the lineup only has 2 debutants ( Cal Howe and Richards) which would be good. Howe will come in from the right. Beestin in midfield makes this an attacking team for me!

It may be an attacking team Phil, but the link up play is awful.

Yeovil come for a draw, playing 5-4-1, seem to be going to nick it🙄
