Beestin equalised, poor crowd 1512 considering it’s the only home friendly for 2 years. 202 away fans.

The main thing you need to know about the game is PAT JONES was the Starman.

    Very harsh les.
Hurst, Rose, Smith, JB, Butterfield, Denton & Richards will be pushing your selections I reckon. Wouldn’t be too unhappy with any of them as starters.

He was layin’ down some rock ‘n’ roll, apparently.

If you were judging purely on last night’s 120 minutes Campbell would be wearing the number 1 shirt next Saturday.

Jones made 2 cracking saves that he brought upon himself being slow to come and collect through balls comfortably within his reach. Had that nervy look he showed in his early appearances last season.

Campbell made 2 or 3 cracking saves from chances that he didn’t contribute to creating.
Punched with authority 2 or 3 times and came out decisively at the feet of one of their forwards.

One swallow a summer does not make but if you knew nothing about either and just watched that game the choice would be simple.

Pitch looks fantastic by the way.

We certainly have a stronger squad than last season when the starting 11 was pretty much nailed on every week. Some nice selection headaches for Butler to work through.

Enjoyable game, everyone played well including both keepers, Hurst looked a different player from last season, win ose or draw it’s going to be a difficult decision picking the team for Yeovil
Also an excellent response from the players and spectators for the applause for Kevin Keegan, but didn’t think the Chesterfield fans were going to stand up until his name was mentioned, hope they do it again on Saturday for the fans who didn’t go last night to pay heir respect

I thought we looked solid enough for NL level but a little bit ordinary, until the changes which meant Smith and Jones were on the flanks. Really impressed by Jones, could be absolutely key this season, and Smith looked leaner, fitter and sharper than last season.
