Agreed. If we are not sustainable we need a different model.
The need for a reliable extra income stream becomes more obvious with every volunteer request by the club, our current board have done a great job with the limited funds they possess.

I don’t disagree. Charities and many public services could not function without volunteers. It’s also great citizenship. (These are not businesses).
Seeking and using them in privately owned organisations is a different matter imo. The worst examples are those profit making businesses that use unpaid interns and work experience students as substitute labour. I am not putting the club in this category btw.

That’s a specious argument, given that we seem to be seeking help from small businesses most adversely impacted by those measures. I think it’s fine for grass roots and fan owned clubs, but doesn’t feel right for a professional and privately run club.
Let’s hope that those coming forward get free advertising in return. I don’t think we have sponsors for the paper towels and bog rolls.

I am afraid the club’s approach to leadership and performance management is several levels of sophistication below what you describe. And that is on the playing side, and in the backroom and the boardroom. That’s not to say that we don’t have good, hard working and committed people, but (from owners to manager) they need a different mindset for us to kick on next season.

I don’t subscribe to the view that because your fanbase isn’t as big as others below you in the pyramid, you don’t deserve your place. We and others are where we are for a reason regardless of what we might think of smaller teams in EFL League 2 or 1.

Let’s agree to differ. It came across as unnecessarily terse at best. In McCann’s shoes, I would have ignored it, but maybe there is some history?
It’s not a capital offence, but AB does need to polish up his approach to comms, media, engagement.
He could have said: “What a career he’s had and I wish him all the best in what he chooses to do next. But, no, we are not interested in bringing Billy back at this stage of our development as a club, and at this point in his career.” Same response in essence, but entirely different tone.
It’s the right decision, but he could have found any number of other ways of responding in a more professional way.
I didn’t think it was unprofessional.

Worthing up from Conference South. Bound to be away on a Tuesday night.
Assuming we don’t go up, need to keep the midfield intact, offload the fringe players, recruit an experienced goalie, RB and two CBs. Plus a striker. Recruitment is key, but we know we need better and bigger squad depth.
