It seems the relegated teams will be Barrow, and one from Harrogate, Newport,Crawley, Tranmere. Budget wise, a much more level playing field, though Carlisle, Rochdale may remain. Prospects better I reckon, if we can push on.
April 25, 2026 at 9:52 pm #319834Who’s going to come up with Fylde from the NLN?
April 25, 2026 at 10:43 pm #319836I guess Shields. No big threat.
April 26, 2026 at 5:08 pm #319855Hope it’s SS for obvious reasons but I think they’ll bottle it!
April 26, 2026 at 5:24 pm #319857Worthing up from Conference South. Bound to be away on a Tuesday night.
Assuming we don’t go up, need to keep the midfield intact, offload the fringe players, recruit an experienced goalie, RB and two CBs. Plus a striker. Recruitment is key, but we know we need better and bigger squad depth.

April 26, 2026 at 5:49 pm #319859Don’t you know saleiron the NL take into account travelling distances for midweek games lol.
Every season They consider at length midweek fixtures knowing clubs and fans don’t want to travel large distances.
Then they announce the fixtures the very next day and woe and behold our first midweek away game is Eastleigh away. Along with Carlisle and Boreham wood.April 26, 2026 at 7:51 pm #319863PS If we don’t go up, I hope Carlisle or Southend do.
I’ll select the Shrimpers to go up if we don’t make it. Similar plight, same time and all that.

We don’t have the money for a large enough and good enough squad.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 28, 2026 at 10:28 am #319949I’ll take “we don’t have the money for a large enough and good enough squad” in division 2.
With the expectation we only have to be better than 2 other teams in that league.
With one win in the league cup that gives you the chance of playing a premiership team ya know like the cods did playing man u, that then comes with all that extra revenue that said club went on to make through gate receipts and TV money.
With the money given for an academy again.
The enormity of the playoffs is immense and the overall rewards negate “we don’t have the money for a large enough and good enough squad”2 users thanked author for this post.

April 29, 2026 at 5:03 pm #320052Should it happen and next season is in Div 2 the club will manage the boost in league revenue properly and not get carried away.
One thing it will do is make the club more attractive for higher clubs loanees.
