Too big for this Non League….

So, especially this time of the season, there are commentators who will come out with ‘Scunny are too big/fan base too large/too much history to not be in the League’.

Others will replace the word ‘Scunny’ by York / Carlisle/ Southend/ Rochdale and a host of other teams currently.

So for those statements to be true, keeping the current structure, which teams aren’t deserving to be in the League and why?

PS let’s hope we can displace one of those teams with two decent Lord’s Day performances.

I don’t subscribe to the view that because your fanbase isn’t as big as others below you in the pyramid, you don’t deserve your place. We and others are where we are for a reason regardless of what we might think of smaller teams in EFL League 2 or 1.

Carlisle should be in the Premier League.

It’s all about money ultimately and nothing to do with how big or small a club you are. How many people wrote off Bournemouth when they made it to the Premier League but their multi millionaire owner plus the money available as a Premier League team soon shot holes in that club size argument. Probably now one of the most attractive footballing sides to watch in the Premier. Look at Wrexham what has put them in playoff contention to the Premier it’s money. We are bucking the trend this season but it happens a lot less when compared to the money issue. If we get promoted this season it will be down to great management and the players grafting their nuts off week in week out, enjoy it whilst you can I reckon.
