Time for more 3-5-2 experimentation?
What a belting game!
Watched the first half hour and Hartlepool were terrible.
Maher made a lot of changes but still put in a performance for the 168 fans who travelled.
Rather not play Southend having beat them twice already but we’re there and at least at home.
Monkey Magic! 🐵
Route to Wembley
QF – Forest Green or Southend (H)
SF – Rochdale/York (A)
If we play to our best Wembley is achievable…unless its York. Think we’d be in for another spanking – they’ve dropped 2 (two) points there since we did them in October. eek.

But we did do them – and we can again.
They will be well aware that we were the last team to beat them at home.
Wembley here we come 😁
(We’ve got to be optimistic haven’t we!!)
If we can win the Eliminator then all the pressure is on Rochdale or York.
They have the massive budgets. They have been very good but just not good enough. They have just failed to win a one off game that would have had them promoted as champions.
Arguably York will feel the pressure most. No one wants to be the Arsenal of the National League.
We have to consider the potential impact on failing to get automatic promotion for York or Rochdale. If I recall last season, York finished second to Barnet, and were knocked out in the semi-finals by 5th place Oldham Athletic. Oldham then went on to win the final and return back to the EFL…
Here’s hoping history repeats itself, and the 5th place team win the play-offs.
None of which matters unless we beat Southend Green Rovers.
