If it was banned we could call those who kept moaning about it going ‘re-drummers’ and tell them to respect democracy and stop being so ‘woke’. And go around football grounds saying ‘we’ve got our stadiums back!’. And then get lamped by the drummer populists. Probably…
Aye, I don’t think it’s ‘moaning for the sake of moaning’ personally. I think more people than we perhaps realise are really against it. I’m happy to stand / sit well away from it, but I appreciate others who just may not want it full stop. If you take a look at what’s out there on fans discussion groups, outside of the Iron, a fair amount of football supporters want drumming in stadiums gone.
That’s the common sense approach. It’s Not as if Halifax didn’t provide us with 2 stands and the largest away end in non league to move away from it.
Can recall as young kid having a football rattle. Fair few had them and they could make a good noise. Don’t remember anyone complaining. Apart from one when tried it in our kitchen and my mother effectively indicated that it ought to stop. Also remember celebrating a goal at Donny road end and removing kid next to me bobble from his hat. If anyone on here lost a bobble in that manner I apologise.
