Howe and Chadwick are both capable of running on to his flicks. Provided they go where they should (the flick-ons that is). Likewise the chest downs can’t be played back to a midfielder if they rebound off his chest and go to an opposition player.
He’s a trier right enough but not quite John Toshack or Niall Quinn.
The only time you used to see the St George’s flag was on St George’s Day!
Those of a certain age who remember 1966 will recall that World Cup Willie sported the Union Flag.
Been on a bit of a UK road trip over the last few days and have seen quite a few attached to Motorway bridges.
Middle of last week they were looking pristine. Today most were hanging limp and tattered.
Not sure whether it is worrying or comical.
Certainly won’t go down well on here NI, Ironawe, Deerey and many others thought it was alright to boo a certain substitute onto the pitch, they all defended the right to, ya pays your ticket money and all that.
What the hell are you on about?
Seeing as how a football team is compromised of eleven players should we not blame the forwards for not keeping the ball at the other end of the pitch?
If it is our Torps, they’ve got his age and place of birth spectacularly wrong! And he’s had some amazing plastic surgery.
SST will be along shortly to sort you heretics out.
Always worries me when a team has been hammered the game before we play them.
Often get the backlash.
Don’t know how practical this is to implement and we don’t want to make extra work for Matt, but in the PL prediction league at our pub we have a “default” score (mine is 2-1) that comes into play if you miss the deadline.
That way you could still pick up points though you’d be extremely unlikely to hit the jackpot.
Cheers Sanfran.
Just a question of getting into the swing of things for the new season. Do a PL Saturday prediction league in our local so tuned into the weekend fixtures.
No Iron game last night so out of sight out of mind, but should have realised. I blame old age.
Crap! Too late for me.
Really need a heads up on the midweek predictions.
Anthony Patterson on a season long?
I’ll have a word with Reg!
Man Utd can afford to go out and buy Donnarumma. We can’t!
Is the Lawyer Honest?
Isn’t Rory carrying a thigh injury?
Probably resting key players before Tuesday.
Oh, hang on..!

Just had a squint at the NL top scorers list. Okay, very early days but Whitehall and Howe up there at the top of the scorers and Roberts top in assists.
Butler has got his lineup right for the first two games at least. Personally I’m more interested in how the eleven perform as a team rather than the weaknesses of one or two.
Would you drop DW for Beck to teach him a lesson? I wouldn’t.
ALL football shirts look crap if they’re being worn “down town”.

And at the other end played three, scored seven!!!
Just saying like.
So it’s Whitehall = bad. Campbell = good then?
Nowt positive to say about six points out of six?
Looks like you’ve won your own competition Rene.
What are you giving yourself as a prize?
On a roll but no game on Tuesday, unlike the rest of the league.
Hope it doesn’t break the momentum.
Same starting lineup as last Saturday.
So unsurprisingly no one impressed against Sunderland U21s. Even goal scorer Dawson who doesn’t even make the bench.

This caused Conservative and Reform politicians to brand the decision “two-tier justice”
I wonder if they would have done had it not been a Labour councillor?
Once you’ve been there you always have an interest in what’s going on.
Would like to see ex FL clubs like Chester & Macc come up. Kiddy seem to be bottlers and I don’t think Hereford or Darlo are near enough yet.
However you’ve got some battlers in there like Chorley, KLT and the Nash that could crash the party.
I’ll go with top three of Macclesfield, Kidderminster and Chester (not necessarily in that order) with Chorley my outside bet.

Yes, but there’s a difference between wanting to wear the shirt and being good enough to start in it.
Not got a problem with the competition per-se, but the organisers must be pretty naive if they think that clubs are not going to use it to give game time to their second/third string players.
Or could there be a better way of doing that?
Can’t disagree with any of the above.
Also, we avoid playing on the new pitch until we have to, then sign up for another four home games before Christmas!
Yes Mick, you have to start with four players other than the keeper who either played the last game or will start the next.
However the decision to take them off after 19 minutes makes a mockery of the ruling.
Very strange!

Chadwick shouldn’t have been in that position. Better out wide where Eze was playing. Eze can’t tackle, Denton bailed him out on several occasions. Not sure where Dawson was playing either?
Don’t suppose there really was a formation after half an hour.
Sunderland lads’ first touch infinitely better than ours. We gave the ball away far too often, positively sloppy at times. Why does Beck try to chest the ball down only to lose it? Better off winning the headers.
Basically another pre season friendly. Nothing to see here, move along!

Well I learned a lot from that. I hope Butler did.
There was no price increase for season tickets , the price increase was for casuals like you NI.
Hope you mean “casuals” in the occasional attendance sense and not the tribal sense.
