Farrell is match sharp and very good, but not a Smith replacement, more likely Dausch would be and Farrell in theory replaces Whitehall – which isn’t going to happen
Bang on. Farrell isn’t a wide attacker, but Dausch is. I don’t think we’ll see the very best of Connor Smith until next season. Smith had been playing in CM this season when he was up in Scotland so will take him a fair while to adjust. I don’t think Smith’s fitness is there either.
Either we’re patient with Smith and give him game time until he clicks into gear or stick him on the bench and play Dausch who looks like he’s ready to contribute right from the off.
March 8, 2026 at 12:00 am #317206First half was awful and Yeovil were extremely lucky to not go in ahead. Whitehall shithousery and general falling over strategy eventually got us a pen but we did not deserve to be ahead at that point of the game.
However, Dausch and Farrell changed the game when they came on, particularly with Dausch stretching Yeovil’s defence and getting in behind multiple times. Farrell was a handful, moves around well and should have had a hat trick. Smith did nothing, looks a different player to the one we had previously. Barrows awful (again)…gave the ball away at least into the double digit figures. Some in the crowd cheered when he got taken off which isn’t a great sign.
Overall, good away performance in the end and well happy to come away with 3 goals, 3 points and a clean sheet.
Having just watched the match on DAZN, Likely Lads style, I think that’s a fair assessment. Night and day halves. Much of the passing and link up play in the first was dire. Second half was a delight to watch. Happy with game management and subs. Smith struggled. Whitehall was worrying me after his first half yellow. I’d have been tempted to take him off sooner rather than going down to 10 but he cut out the shithousery second half. Looked like a pen from the footage. Some great link up play, movement and guile second half. Well happy with that. Onwards and upwards. Or play off cementing. UTI.
March 8, 2026 at 12:09 am #317208Also enjoyed Radio Somerset commentary. Unbiased, honest and an easy listen. Refreshing compared to some of the idiots I’ve heard. Can’t beat Ollie and Torps mind. The real deal.

March 8, 2026 at 12:18 am #317209Seen a comment on the Facebook group about Ewing being back to his best. Gotta be kidding me. He was chasing shadows first half, powder puff and ineffective. Better second half but hardly back to his best. He did put a shift in though.

March 8, 2026 at 5:03 am #31721010 of the 19 games have being won by a 1 goal margin.
5 games ended in draws.15/19 have had tight outcomes.
It’ll be a tight scrappy game.
I’ve seen a 0-1 and a 1-2 AI prediction for the game… we’d be happy with either!
0-3… tight & scrappy… lol

Maybe your choice of words about your pre match assessment should read “ light and crappy “, lol.

Danny was lucky to be on the pitch to “win” the penalty never mind take it.
Many refs would have given him a second yellow card for his simulation. The fact it was out by the touch line and not in the area probably saved him.
March 8, 2026 at 11:18 am #317216Only been sent off once and that was for us, luckily he seems to get away with it.
So your wrong NI many refs wouldn’t have given him a second booking history proves it.
Obviously he’ll get sent off very soon so you can all hang him.March 8, 2026 at 11:58 am #317217I don’t think fair criticism about his ‘methods’ means anyone wants to hang him.
March 8, 2026 at 12:34 pm #317221I think we all (bar one) accept him for what he is. I, for one, am much happier he’s playing with rather than against us and his scoring record speaks for itself.
March 8, 2026 at 12:54 pm #317222Doesn’t it just.
Fans on here drooling over Josh Stones the other week, I’d take Danny every time over him.March 8, 2026 at 3:00 pm #317229Can’t beat Ollie and Torps mind. The real deal.
The best ever Scunthorpe commentator on RH, imho. Pairing with Adkins for the Yeovil match was fantastic.
March 8, 2026 at 3:32 pm #317231Better than Shep!!!!! You must be a youngster.

Ollie is an excellent Journo and doesn’t shirk the tough questions. They’re a good group on Humberside, Ollie for us, Matt Dean for them and Mike White/Alex Burgess for City
Shep and Tondeur were superb on their day but Ollie deserves credit.

Hardly.
I just think Ollie Turner is better than we’ve ever had – a decent commentator, clearly does his homework, and after a match is not afraid to ask potentially very difficult questions.

March 8, 2026 at 9:48 pm #317245I was speaking to Shep the other day, sadly he is not a well man. “Dinky-do it’s number two “ was his famous catchphrase!

March 9, 2026 at 9:02 am #317248Shep was a legend, some of the biased comms on DAZN could learn from the master..
I remember dinky-do it’s number 2, and that was in league daysMarch 9, 2026 at 9:18 am #317249Shep along with Bob Steels were in the exec lounge a few weeks ago for a chat to the fans, unfortunately Shep has been quite poorly recently but full credit it to him for giving us his time.

March 9, 2026 at 10:14 am #317250I see Bob covers Iron matches for the NL paper. Never anything in GT/ST on line though. Can’t believe they’re still banned from GP so is it that they can’t be bothered with NL teams or do I have to buy a paper?

Both Telegraphs like all Reach plc papers are just paid advertising boards now, no news
When I nip up to my home town I pick it up in the newsagents, quick look, put it down again
