This pitch situation is puzzling me. Our pitch is terrible, we all agree on that, probably unique in the league in its condition. We play on it regularly, for the opposition it’s a one off. So why is it not proving to be the massive advantage that it should be? Have our players decided that they are such good footballers that they can’t possibly play on it?

Smith hasn’t become a bad player. Lacking form, fitness. confidence maybe all three but still a top signing IMO.
£1 for the pitch and a fiver for yourself?

He still managed to score with little or no service.

WRETCHED!
Play like this in the 2nd half and we’ll lose against one of the poorest sides we have seen!Buy a lottery ticket les.
Absolutely terrible, “not us” (again) will. no doubt, be included in AB’s post match. Sadly it’s very much us lately.
WHEN WILL WE SORT OUT OUR PASSING!!!!!!!!1 user thanked author for this post.
Maybe, if he’s got enough wingers, he’ll stop playing non wingers there.
Might be controversial but I’d start the same team. I rate Smith and can’t wait for him to hit the form we know he’s capable of. Farrell to relieve Danny when he’s had enough or when the game’s safe (6-0 with 10 minutes left)
It’ll be interesting to see what the Sutton boss does after a home thrashing by a team below them.
Does he make loads of changes (if he has the players to do that) or continue to pick his “best” players and hope Saturday was a one off?
Who’d be a football manager eh!1 user thanked author for this post.
I see Bob covers Iron matches for the NL paper. Never anything in GT/ST on line though. Can’t believe they’re still banned from GP so is it that they can’t be bothered with NL teams or do I have to buy a paper?

Better than Shep!!!!! You must be a youngster.
March 8, 2026 at 2:51 pm in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #317228We all know there is more to the Howe story.
If Carlton Uba.. had gone out on loan that would be fine.
Pardon me AB but if Howe had an attitude, i have never noticed it in all the great games he played for the iron, and put 100% effort in.AB said Howe wanted to go out on loan to play games that he couldm’t guarantee. I don’t recall him ever questioning Howe’s attitude, that seems to have come, unsubstantiated, from anti-Butler s***stirrers.

I think we all (bar one) accept him for what he is. I, for one, am much happier he’s playing with rather than against us and his scoring record speaks for itself.

DISCLAIMER
I did earlier post my exit to this forum due to plan of retirement in the middle East .. alas Trump etc have derailed this so moved back to my Thai home. Apologies to all Bru members who were pleased to see the back of me.
Well I’m glad you’re back but, as a very happy retiree, I’m sorry that Trump has messed yours up.
2-3 new signings said AB recently. Another rabbit out of the hat tomorrow?
“With the signatures now sealed on the dotted line for the management team, Scunthorpe United can confirm it falls within the football management’s remit to commence among players in the squad as we reach the business end of the season as they look to aim for a positive end to 2025-26 and shape their squad for the 2026-27 season.”
Roberts by Saturday and on from there.

To be fair to Musselwhite, he is the one shouting instructions when we are facing a corner, while AB sits in his chair..
Yes, but he’s shouting “stay on your line” to the keeper.

What’s Musselwhite done to deserve a new contract never mind improved terms.
Encouraged every keeper he’s worked with to stay on his line?

It is a sad day when a move to Oldham is worth preserving yourself for.
Is this Ewing, is the source reliable?
(I also believe that one of the three remaining “reps” has only attended one home game this season, so I am not sure how they keep abreast of supporter views?)
If this is true them I am puzzled as to how this person was selected to represent fans. Unless, of course, he/she goes to all the away games and presents the views of travelling fans.
Defensive organisation I hope.
Shooting from outside the box wouldn’t be a waste of time either.1 user thanked author for this post.
We called it “standard pass” – different part of the ground.

I posted a few comments on this thread without mentioning Farrell who I thought was excellent on his debut and gives me optimism (a bit) for the coming games where I’d hope to see him more involved.
(Not sure how keen Danny will be as Farrell got the Iron Bar MOM. Maybe if you’d nailed that header and got 4 in a 4-3 win you might just have edged it Danny!!)2 users thanked author for this post.
I see it took them 99 minutes to scrape a win against Morecambe who had 10 men for almpst half the game. Just saying.
Whilst we’re on passing again, what was Barrows success rate yesterday? 1 from 30 or so aimless punts down the right touchline. Sorry to pick on Ross, passing was abysmal overall, but he was the one that seemed to stand out as they were all so similar.
Was that in another interview Cass? In the one with Humberside that I posted he said ‘first half we were miles off it…’ and then proceded to explain why in great detail.
SUFC official Deerey, haven’t listened to the Humberside yet.

Just listened to AB’s post match.
“The first half wasn’t us”
Look at recent games Andy, that first half was exactly us. Don’t kid yourself. So was the best of the second half performance not the real ‘us’? He can’t do right for doing wrong it seems.
I didn’t mention the second half. I was merely pointing out that AB’s quote suggested that, in his view, the first half performance was a one off. It certainly wasn’t and if he thinks otherwise he’ll pass it off as “just a blip”, recent matches confirm it’s more than that. It needs sorting and he’s the only man that can do it.
