First January wish granted.
“Scunthorpe United is delighted to confirm defender Ross Barrows has put pen to paper on a contract extension until the end of the season.”1 user thanked author for this post.
I didn’t realise Ross Barrows was your grandson.

Agreed, E-Wing and Horton outstanding, Roberts best game for a while, if only he could find last seasons shooting boots. No negatives from the starting 11, top notch.
Subs:-
Barrows – steady
Howe – great goal, other 3 almost invisible, a huge difference in ability between them and the ones they replaced.
Fully expecting their manager to get plenty of criticism for not bringing their goalscorer on at HT.All the best to the expectant parents, yourself & granny. They’ll never notice you’ve gone, set the priorities early NI.

Merry Christmas from CT. Peace on Bru and goodwill to all Bruers.

And you are seldom disappointed.
But instead we’ll set up to deal with them.
A surprise for everybody, organised by MI5?
They were pretty good in midfield but didn’t have much quality in either box. Their tallish midfielder (think he was 14) was very tidy in midfield.
He could be really good when he’s older then.

From NL News:-
“Grimsby Town are lining up a January move for Championship forward Ty Sellars-Fleming, who is currently on loan at National League promotion-chasers Scunthorpe United.”
From Wiki (so it must be right) he left TNS by mutual consent which would suggest he had something lined up. As BLT says he can’t have been on much there so either he or his agent are over ambitious when it comes to his worth. Also he’s never played more than 30 games in any season.
Presumably loan extensions not permanent transfers?
Very harsh AWG – I’d give him “sometimes” or maybe “occasionally”

He’d have needed Pickford, Rice and Kane as well.

But isn’t starting a thread promoting a phrase you hate due to its overuse counter productive?
It’s a phrase I hate ,often patronising too.
Yet you start a thread about it!
Better performance, some passing still poor but some of the close, one touch stuff was very good. Using Starbuck & Denton in advanced roles gives a good indication of how AB rates Eze & Chadwick, square pegs again. Chadwicks loan until January but Eze here for the season unless we can persuade Bolton that he’d be better off somewhere else. We need to make room for at least one to challenge the starting 11.
Beestin needs resting to get fit, looked like a lost sheep yesterday, not fair to ask him to play on.Credit to Butler, he got the starting line up/formation wrong but realised quickly and changed it.
Wrap Roberts & Ewing in cotton wool!
Rowley sub a surprise, not injured I hope.Who’s fit?
Not Evans or Ewing and Rose as well it seems.
Any news on Roberts & Whitehall? We have Starbuck, Rose and JB for the RB position. Are we in a position to support 4 RBs?

experienced striker – do we assume Whitehall out for a while and this is No9 cover
More of a Carlton/Howe type than a Whitehall though. We’re lacking a bit of physical presence in front of the back 4.
If Eze isn’t starting in this then will he be on after 2 minutes or is he really that far down the pecking order.
Which four players out of Saturday’s squad would you start with tomorrow, not totally sure but I think it’s only outfield players that count.
If goalies do count Mahadey up front with Jones in goal.Doesn’t it have to be 4 players that started?
Presumably 6 of Saturdays subs will start with Barrows. Then maybe Boycie who’s just had a rest, Carlton, Horton (sub Shipstone 1 minute) and Denton (sub 7th sub from Saturday 1 minute) Can Brogan & Beck take part?Eighty five. Yes, he must have missed the first 15.

Although I thought we were better than last week the same problem was clear for all (except AB) to see. He continues to praise the quality of his squad when only the “first 11” and a couple of others are good enough for this league.
Replacements for Evans are the nearest to being satisfactory but weren’t at their best yesterday. Westbrooke looks decent but a step or two down from Ewing. Roberts and Whitehall are simply irreplaceable from our current squad and probably within our current budget. (Disclaimer :- would Whitehall have scored the Carlton goal yesterday? No but he would have affected the game more, we were short of height when defending set pieces, a job Whitehall does well.) Keeper situation well covered elsewhere.
For supposedly one of the the fittest teams in the league the last 5-10 minutes seems to be a big problem, why is that?4 users thanked author for this post.
When all else fails we return to 5 at the back.
Unless Boycie goes up front! (Maybe not)
Has it ever been so quiet on here on a matchday? Worrying.
