Has that international MF found a club yet?

He could last 90 minutes and make a difference if he stood in the centre circle just waiting to take corners and attacking free kicks.

” For a one-off payment per season, you can personalise a seat with your name, a dedication, or your business branding — visible to thousands of supporters every time they walk through the turnstiles.”

How many seats can you see as you walk through the turnstiles? Nobody in the DRE will see anything at all!

I’m pretty sure that everybody on here is a fan, why would they bother otherwise. I’d have thought that, as a matter of course, VoF would monitor the number one fans forum as an easy way of knowing what a significant number of fans think.

Have VoF passed these obvious concerns on to the commercial department do you think?

I think if he’s expecting to play up front with Whitehall he might be disappointed.
IF!! we go 4-4-2 then surely Howe would be first choice. Looks to me like a sub for Whitehall when he’s tired or injured.

Beck replacement? Guess that rules out a Farrell return.

I’d like Farrell back on a season long loan, he was turning into a really useful asset for us when the Barnsley recall came, he would make a big difference IMO.

Depends how the new manager rates him I suppose. Hopefully he thinks a full season in NL will help his development. Would love to see him back.

Maybe £6 a month isn’t too bad then?

“Southend United has always been built by its supporters. Through every generation, every challenge, every promotion push and every setback, you have been there supporting the club every step of the way. As we look ahead to the 2026/27 season and celebrate 120 years of this historic football club, we are proud to launch Only Blue; a brand-new supporter movement designed for those who want to go the extra mile. Only Blue is not a traditional membership scheme; it is a collective, fan-powered movement built to give you, our supporters, a direct and visible role in impacting what happens on the pitch. Every penny raised from the Only Blue membership programme will be ring-fenced directly into the football department. For just £10 per month, supporters can become part of the collective, helping to fund the football department, whilst receiving exclusives, monthly prize draws, priority windows in ticket sales and more. The Club will provide regular updates throughout the season, including quarterly communications and an annual Only Blue Impact Report, ensuring supporters can clearly see how their backing is helping drive Southend United forward.”

Do we NEED a player coach?

If he can convince the players of the advantages of being 2 footed and coach accordingly then he’ll be worth the money. Still plenty to offer as a player I reckon, but maybe not many 90 minute games.

James Moody’s are OK, Jake Pullen’s are terrible. He needs coaching to ask open questions and not give his own answer to the question he’s just asked.

Putting money into a football club should never be classed as an investment. People rightly expect a return on an investment, maybe links to sponsorship opportunities is more likely.

Because then the club will face the same criticism as last year. A “too easy” pre-season which doesn’t test us.
Worked out OK though didn’t it.

“Daft question Cass .. is it hot in the UK now , ive not checked but seen a few ppl on SM seemingly even taking off cardigans, string vests and even socks .. can this be true ??”

I’ve swapped my boxers for a thong, does that answer your question?

‘Too hot to work’. Sure you’ve said in the past you’ve retired?
And I said the same thing about midfielders and defenders needing to score more next season in an earlier post this morning. Royalties owed. Ta.

Well retired Deerey but the grass still needs cutting and bits of essential maintenance required.
Sorry I was too busy doing my fascinating research so I haven’t read your post, I’ll have a look now.
Sadly no copyright = no royalties but nice try. Hopefully you are Andy Butler and will act on what we both know is needed.

Don’t forget those coming up IFA, the mighty Hornchurch, Worthing, Fylde and, of course, Kiddy.

I thought Ewing’s contract for next season was done and dusted.

Have a listen to AB’s end of season interview on the OWS les, there’s some sort of explanation in there.

When was the last time we offered a 3 year contract? As important as money to a 29 y.o. I suspect. Would any club want to advertise the fact that they were not the number one choice for a player, better to say nothing and let the fans make up the “facts” maybe?

It should be somebody who’ll start every game, injuries and suspensions permitting, and with a sufficiently forceful personality. Horton maybe?

Possibly suggesting a “Best Ever Manager” list with you know who at number 1.
