Based on yesterday he wouldn’t get in their team.

If he wants to consider 3-5-2 as an option he needs to sign WBs. Somebody like (but not him) the Southend RWB who’s scored 17 or 18 this season would be useful.
Rose came to us as a CB but, as with JB, hasn’t had a chance to show what he can do there. Could be the answer? I also thought he had a decent game when he had a go in MF.

Take out Roberts and Whitehall and we struggle to score. How many goals have our much lauded MF of Ewing Westbrook & Rowley scored this season? Possibly less than one MF would be expected to contribute. I agree with WG (rare) that Brogan should have been an option yesterday and maybe even Beck if Whitehall’s fitness was not assured. Howe & Beestin next in scorers list I think and neither are regular starters. A lack of goals from our back 4 also doesn’t help, I know it’s not their primary function but the forwards are expected to help in defence.

“Do we need Barrows, Rose and Jb for RB position ?”You forgot Starbuck. JB came as a CB but hasn’t featured much there, him & Horton in their proper positions could work.

Nobody as good as Roberts will want to play NL. Jack Nolan would be my choice.

A timely distraction maybe?
” Barnsley plot move for Rochdale manager to replace Conor Hourihane “
Jimmy would probably have played him as a WB. Completely out of his depth at our level.

Midfielder, 6’4″ gives an added dimension.

Know nothing about Inniss, it was only Bunker I was suggesting.
Don’t forget the fiasco last year where they were going on general sale at a certain time but ended up not sticking to their announcement
Maybe they learned from their “mistake” last time?
You do try hard to b a khd
Whereas to you it all comes naturally.

I still think the ticket release was a reasonable timescale. You, of course, would have had the staff working through the night. The terms of the ticket allocation is where I see an issue.
Wasn’t it Dale who decided on up to 6 tickets max?
An explanation as to why Rochdale have control over the way we sell our tickets might be appropriate.
Tickets on sale about 20 hours after we knew they were needed, within 1 working day. They’re not bloody magicians you know. Pleased you were never my boss.

Opinion only:-
For a change, instead of setting up to match the opposition, Butler used (IMO) the best system for our players, played to their strengths and let Southend management worry about us and react. Something that, in their fans opinion, they failed to do.Has to be the way to go.2 users thanked author for this post.
He’s developed really well since being given his chance. And been given a new surname.
Who’s Kian Johnson?
From the OWS 13 September 25:-
Scunthorpe United can announce the acquisition of goalkeeper Kian Johnson non-contract terms.1 user thanked author for this post.
“I wasn’t sure what I was expecting from Scunthorpe but what I will say is this. You are the biggest nastiest and direct side we have faced this season.!
I don’t get this at all, I think we have 3 outfield players over 6 ft.
(Apologies to any that I’ve undersized)1 user thanked author for this post.
He hasn’t, I think you’re mixing Louis Jones and Kian Johnson up mick. (Still recovering from Prediction League celebrations?) Well done BTW, is that 2 in a row?

Just had a look on their fans forum, ref and manager to blame it seems (That’s unusual!) However one up for Butler from a sensible fan:-
” I believe Scunthorpe have a significantly lower budget than ourselves and have completely outplayed us this season, they’ve been poor recently and now it looks like great management as when the time came they rose to the challenge and gave us what we deserved.”3 users thanked author for this post.
One of their star men, Scott-Morriss got a yellow card in added time. I reckon he was lucky not to get two in the first half! Dark Arts my a***!!!!!
They could have had a pen first half (Denton shove) we could have had a pen second half (Ewing) but should have had a definite pen when their defender tried to swap shirts with Whitehall before the game finished. Hope somebody got a picture.3 users thanked author for this post.
Sorry to post something negative after a nights sleep. Great result and good performance, no doubting that. However I did feel that 3 or 4 were not at their absolute best (no names) Fortunately others stepped up resulting in a solid team performance. Maybe roles will be reversed on Sunday resulting in a similar (at keast) performance and hopefully the same result. UTI.
Right players picked, just needs to use the best system for them. If Pat Jones starts at RWB or plays there at any point of the game my dander will be well and truly up!!
Thanks for reading Andy – you know it makes sense.
Brilliant result, well done everybody, well deserved and on to Sunday.UTI!!!!1 user thanked author for this post.

I don’t care what happens to Rochdale and I have no idea what punishment will be handed out. I just don’t want us to be at risk.

On the OWS:-
“Scunthorpe United would like to remind supporters the importance of their conduct when we host Southend United this evening.
Supporters are reminded that entering the field of play is strictly prohibited, and the use of pyrotechnics and the throwing of objects all constitute as criminal offences.”All well and good as long as fans look at the OWS and can read. Regular tannoy reminders for an hour before KO might help and certainly remove the “I didn’t know” response. Absolutely crucial that no encroachment or pyros tonight. Start next season with a 10 point deduction? No thanks!!
Clutching at straws to see if you can catch mick?
Everybody loves a trier. :-)1 user thanked author for this post.
High opinion justified based on his time with us.

Do they need to be on the pitch to celebrate? You surely saw what the York player did.
