    Fair assessment to be honest.

If you look at the recent games on Cafescore, the pattern’s pretty clear — we’re competitive for spells, but the drop-off when injuries hit is obvious. York just have that extra gear and depth that we don’t right now.

Roberts is carrying us, no doubt. You can see it in the goal contributions week after week. Westbrooke’s probably been the most consistent in midfield too. But beyond that, once form dips, the level falls off quickly.

I agree about getting a centre-half in on loan. We need someone who can organise and calm things down. Too often it just feels chaotic at the back, and that shows up in the chances we’re conceding.

The effort was better though — build on that, add a bit more structure, and we might steady things.

Chaotic just about sums up our recent defending certainly. But our defenders are all experienced, not kids and the manager was a defender himself. If they can’t organise an effective defence between them I doubt that bringing in a loan CB will solve the problem. A fit JB might but we don’t know how soon that’s likely.

Did you notice that alcazar gave a thank, first time on Blast furnace since Oct 22, I thought he’d gone on to the old show ground in the sky.
Nice to see he’s still here.

Another one who left in a huff because people have the temerity to disagree with him. And apparently Bru’s run by Marxists. Idiot.

People come and go of their own accord. Couldn’t care less if people that leave in a huff after causing problems, and proceed to slag off Bru with a number of untruths on other platforms return or not. You’re welcome.

Don’t expect me to fawn over them like returning prodigal sons.

alcy turned up on tother side on the Mandelson thread but it was purely to give 64 a kicking about something or other about Starmer from years ago . Still retains plenty of acid though and like Awaywego says I too believe he had kicked the bucket.

Disagreed with 95% of Alcy’s posts but he used to add a bit of life to the debate.

I don’t know what I’m more incredulous about – watching York’s third goal on Tuesday night or reading Ian Sharp’s reaction to it:

‘As painful as it is to watch us concede I can’t deny that’s not a spectacular goal with an incredible fans reaction. The national league is criminally underrated for the level of clubs and fans who watch and support week in week out. Needs more attention from the higher ups.’

Yes Ian, it’s painful to watch. End of. No need for the rest.

Most seasoned defenders would have brought him down before he scored, at that stage in the game it would have been futile. Reminded me of the great Keith Walwyn, why didn’t we sign him when he played for Winterton Rangers ??

I see it took them 99 minutes to scrape a win against Morecambe who had 10 men for almpst half the game. Just saying.
