I think most fans would vote to keep it and I certainly don’t think the drummer should be banned.
This post has taken off on the Facebook group. “Miserable so and so”, fxxk the lefties says iron bru will have the drummer “stooped”, and there are complaints of slander against Positivity Dave.
I’ve seen some of these comments. Amazing how some are still bitter towards Bru for embarrassing themselves so spectacularly in the past.
That’s fair. When I have been to Alty and West Didsbury & Chorlton, the songs have been far more inventive than you hear at league and ex-league grounds.
‘it’s a damning indictment of the modern game imo.’
I think that’s a bit general. More EFL and ex-EFL clubs in my experience. There are numerous non league clubs below us with a rich canon of amusing and inventive songs and and chants. Often self deprecating. Though they tend to be more left wing, liberal fan bases.
WD&CFC are a good example, though they can also be a bit too right on and preachy at times. The other end of the spectrum I suppose, but at least there’s some uniqueness to it as opposed to regurgitated chants of other EFL clubs.

I still saw plenty of it Les. Less but still too evident. Some woeful passing still abundant too. I can see what they’re trying to do with some of the more exciting moves and if they come off, great. 7 times out 10 they don’t and it’s frustrating to watch. Just work on passing please. Could have easily been a draw and would have been annoying as Halifax created barely anything. Ref wants sacking for not giving a penalty. Not denying another good performance and result overall though. 4 weeks can make such a difference. Credit to Butler and the boys.

Not too bad but not a patch on Rovers
March 28, 2026 at 10:11 am in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #318450Conspiratorial racists are out.
I’m not suggesting they’re being spoon fed updates, more like assuming they are spokespersons for the club and not being discouraged from that mindset. As someone said the other day, ‘useful idiots’. I don’t particularly dislike them either, they do some activity that benefits the club, rather than just their own profiles, it’s more an observation. Though I’m not a big fan of it either. Prefer if they maintained a bit of distance and independence.

Why are they ‘cheeky bastards’?

As each week goes by it feels to me like Dave and the Iron Hour gang are the unofficial spokespersons for the club.
Haven’t watched it yet but don’t worry about ‘violating any community guidelines’. Most violators hsve left in a huff.

March 26, 2026 at 9:09 pm in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #318399Whitehall’s looked well off it last few weeks moving like a snail. I wouldn’t mind seeing Howe staring up top with Beestin behind. Can’t see Butler doing that though.

March 26, 2026 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #318391Lol, you claimed numerous times one of the clubs was lying.
Anyhow, hopefully it works out for him and the club, if he really wants to come back, which I assume they’ve had discussions about before making a decision?
March 26, 2026 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #318387That’s nice to hear, and obviously no rift between him and Butler.
Maybe you won’t be so ready to believe an opposition club’s comms in future? And keep wanging on about it almost every day? ;)

In comparison to neighbours Oldham and Bury, who I’m pretty sure fare much better.
They had some fine riders, Pusey, Booey, Cartwright to name a few.

Final ball did let him down a bit last night but their defence hated him running at them. Danger man.

Do kids still throw stones down on away fans from the top of the speedway embankment terracing like in the early 80s Tezza? Only joking, probably woke a few of our lot up :)

Harsh on Ewing. Thought he did okay. Not amazing but good enough. Struggled more second half. He started Alfie the previous game and he wasn’t the best. Seems to be playing better from the bench. Harsh on Jones too. He beat players numerous times from what I saw, but not as effective as previous games. You’re a hard one to please Bhuna.

Great game and performance to watch on DAZN. Shame about their goals and Jones error of judgement but agree he pulled off some decent saves. Dausch deserves praise again. Some very smart touches and thinking. Love to watch him. Unpredictable, in a good way. Think he’ll go far.

March 25, 2026 at 11:35 am in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #318306I thought Beck had been and gone? Or is he there and back?
Criticism / doubts about the Weekender and it’s timing compounded the attitude of club to certain sections of supporters I think. Again, another lame duck backed by some who have been elevated. I’m not saying it’s all bad by any means but if Butler is going to be selective in praise, then let’s get some perspective. Or are we supposed to believe these ventures would have been successful if everyone was more ‘positive’?

Keep getting caught out by slow defending that high line. Butler should anticipate and recognise that. He’s the one who knows the fitness levels of players and if they have the legs to keep up with counter attacks. And if not, don’t play such a high line or get back up in. And if we can’t afford more players, defend to our strengths.
The disdain towards the Trust / Bru all seemed to stem from the 100k club fiasco (or whatever nonsense it was called). That was the impression I got from their responses during the fans forum anyway…they honestly still thought that it was a great idea that had the rug pulled from under them because of “noisy” fans.
The antipathy from the Board towards Bru and the Trust noticeably increased after that episode (not forgetting some of those that have been elevated since were signed up to the promo add) but they surely saw the outcry about entertaining fc1000 went way beyond Trust and Bru. It was heavily decried from most quarters
