Sports bar?
In no way related of course, but interesting reads all the same…

Not sure if they approached him or not. Seem to recall he magically appeared like Mr Benn.
Martin Carruthers has insinuated that there are interesting stories to come on twitter.
I found the recent long X interchange between Forever Iron and ‘Francis Austin’ quite entertaining when I read it all last night.
Might be busy arranging to take on the MTFC Sports Bar? That or buying a used car off Arthur Daley.
Been in ‘end game’ mode for weeks. Something’s triggered it is my bet. The heat’s on. Keep moving.
Lol, what about this – you couldn’t make it up:
‘Are you ready to run your own business?
Operate the Darwin Lake Sports Bar in partnership with Matlock Town Football Club
This is a rare opportunity to take over a newly refurbished, ready-made business with a strong guaranteed revenue stream and significant growth potential.’
Careful with the comments.
Funny thing is Ironawe twas only 4 games before you were supporting the boo boys that is you NI and Deerey amongst others when KVV was booed onto the pitch on 84 mins on the first day of the season.
Who’d have thought that hey.Took longer than I thought it would for you to wheel out that history re-write.

Probably. Not that he’d ever return to the Iron the way he was treated by the boo boys
Chatting to a County fan earlier who attended last night. Think Kyle was standing in at CH. Bit of a hero to them: they sing ‘two Kyle Wootons, there’s only two Kyle Wootons…’ acknowledging he’s a striker and defender. Good for him.
Heard it on R5 being reported last night. Played CH they said. Might have took a deflection.

Well at least two of us have expressed interest in your initial post earlier on.
Just for clarity, had to walk the dog earlier, hence ‘tatty bye’. And yes, I am a Trust member, for what it’s worth.
Deflection
If you made sense you might get taken more seriously. Tatty bye.
Nah, not that arsed tbh
Who’s Shermon?
Okay Jerry. Just a guess.
‘No! They’re bloody useless’
Shame because you’d be able to complain to them direct. They’re more likely to listen and act on the gripes of a member.
Exactly

May 13, 2026 at 1:00 pm in reply to: Football Governance Bill, The Iron Trust and Puppet fans Group #320749It’s all well and good pointing the finger at the Trust to do more awaywego. But it takes two to tango, and you know full well the relationship situation between Trust and current Board. Does the Cods Trust have a healthy relationship with the GTFC Board? Maybe they do.
As Jerry seems very interested, perhaps he could volunteer his services as a mediator? :)
Have you joined the Trust yet awaywego?
May 13, 2026 at 10:34 am in reply to: Football Governance Bill, The Iron Trust and Puppet fans Group #320737Rubbish. The Trust had no part to play in the ticket allocation. It’s cheap and lame of Jerry to deflect attention to the Trust. ‘What could the Trust do differently?’ More relevant to ask ‘what could Unity Iron do differently?’ given their closer association with the club.

Whispering Grass.
The good will in general. They still show plenty of appreciation to individual and company volunteers, unless I’m mistaken?

I think it’s fine to seek and secure labour, materials and funds from fans during particularly difficult times, but it isn’t sustainable long term. Sponsorship is different of course as is contributing to gain a collective say in the running of the club in a fan owned model.
Generally agree but I’d also question, what is really sustainable? Sponsorships need sourcing and renewing, new investors are only as sustainable as long as they’re interested and around. Volunteer and gift in kind support is perhaps more sustainable, if the good will continues. Just playing devil’s advocate.

More CBB than VOF.

Not as satisfying as weed.
Are you still talking about the pitch here?
