Only a somewhat pointless game vs Stoke youths, but he does look to have something about him. Good run and fantastic ball across for Shipstone, good movement for a tap in which was ruled out and a good run and finish for the 3rd goal. He looks half decent, and has some ability.
Looks a bit gangly and ungainly at times, but looks decent with the ball, willing runner and has some pace about him. Bit raw, but it appears he’s a player we can work on to improve.
He definitely isn’t a player who looks to be way short. Needs training and game time to improve, but at least there is something there to work with.
August 18, 2026 at 8:53 pm #324900Let’s hope Andy Butler doesn’t keep playing him in midfield, like he did at Southend!

August 18, 2026 at 8:59 pm #324902Stick him up top, drop Dec and get the wingers in to feed him crosses, might aswell give it a shot.

August 18, 2026 at 9:01 pm #324903I watched on national league stream. It looked like him and Brennan were interchanging positions between wide attacker and striker. Looked promising anyway. I’m not going to stupidly claim he’s about to be the next Sellers Flemming, but definitely has some substance to him.
As I said above, he looks half decent.
August 18, 2026 at 9:42 pm #324905I enjoyed the game. Looked a lot sharper after subs presumably to save the players for Saturday. Campbell no mistakes in goal and one excellent save when Stoke lad should have scored. Gale two goals and didn’t seem to fall over too much.
Personally managed to complete match without plastic bracelet or mug and no thumbs up. Might feel a little positive though. Will be pleased to be back in DRE.August 18, 2026 at 10:00 pm #324906Can you see anyone stopping us winning the league now.

You’re as funny as Rosie Jones.

August 18, 2026 at 11:09 pm #324909Have to agree, Gale looked very promising when he came on could have had a hat trick if not for being marginally offside.
Hurst also looked much better when he switched out to the left, which is a bit of an issue I called out before the season started…all of our wingers are predominantly left sided! Not one has looked comfortable playing on the right so far, which is bizarre considering replacing Roberts was probably our biggest priority this summer.
August 19, 2026 at 1:07 am #324911Quite like Gale, has a bit of everything and despite being tall/gangly has some pace and he’s mobile. Looks like a baby giraffe at times and a bit ungainly but pleasantly surprised. Looks to be a fairly good finisher.
Granted it was somewhat of a pointless game, but chances still have to be taken no matter who you’re playing. Those minutes for Rose were brilliant. Fingers crossed he doesn’t suffer any after effects. We need him back A.S.A.P. Looked more than solid as a defensive midfielder.
