Now your making that up CPRP lol.
Spent convictions are just that “spent” and don’t disqualify a person from being an owner or director. But the wording is “previous history” The conviction might be “spent” but historically it still exists.
January 2, 2026 at 10:47 am #314907Your naeivity, or complete ignorance could be the 8th wonder of the world awaywego
January 2, 2026 at 11:33 am #314908My nativity lol,
And still the unanswered question of how he funds the clubs he goes to, I’m betting on the tooth fairy.
Of course his conviction still exists but he’s served his sentence and should have been allowed to move on.January 2, 2026 at 11:51 am #314909Not according to the rules. No point having rules if they’re not enforced.
January 2, 2026 at 12:23 pm #314912Looked at the rules again of the fa and the EFL owners and directors test, and so long as it’s a spent conviction it’s ok.
Is the words “previous history” mentioned in the rules themselves I haven’t seen them myself.January 2, 2026 at 12:39 pm #314914I’m with Cliff-anyone he shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a football club. Same as Swann.
January 2, 2026 at 12:50 pm #314915If spent convictions for the exact type of offence the test is meant exclude are allowed then surely that only again reinforces what a complete farce it is.

January 2, 2026 at 6:39 pm #314931Hilton and Swann should never be allowed to to put frost covers on pitches let alone own a club .. blooming pair of slippery buggers if you ask me.
January 21, 2026 at 12:02 pm #315558Hilton just appointed ex Ireland keeper Paddy Kenny as goalkeeping coach.
Attempting to buy promotion and failing badly.January 21, 2026 at 2:27 pm #315561In Evans’ recent interview for Humberside, he made a point of saying how much more inspiring it is playing for a club and owner who loves the club through and through and isn’t just ‘pumping’ money in to it. Sounded like a night and day comparison to Hilton / Harness

Hilton didn’t pump money in.
January 21, 2026 at 2:44 pm #315563Not my words. It was a current player. Thought it was Evans but might have been a different one. His point was about the contrast, how the players are playing for the club more nowadays, not about what Hilton did or didn’t do regarding funding.
April 30, 2026 at 8:41 pm #320177Having sacked Adam Clayton, they brought Ryan Cresswell back and now they’ve sacked him again.
April 30, 2026 at 9:27 pm #320182Who’s he lining up next? Bono?
April 30, 2026 at 9:32 pm #320183They still haven’t found what they’re looking for.

April 30, 2026 at 10:23 pm #320187Good job really – he moves in mysterious ways.
May 1, 2026 at 4:01 pm #320203I see poor Dave is getting flak from Matlock fans. Why can’t they be ecstatic that they have got such a generous soul who works hard for creating a good image for his family? That’s his only motive, after all. Very ropey off pitch decisions? Can’t be; I heard he built them a wonderful bar, so surely they will all love Dave!

They better be careful or a handful of mean comments will give him the right to not pay staff and it will be the fault of Matlock bully boys.
May 1, 2026 at 4:47 pm #320206Graham Drury the new manager. He’s done alright at Stamford but not as much as they would like you to believe. Sounds familiar

Always thought he had mental health problems for real.
May 2, 2026 at 10:12 am #320223Should appoint Raz Clayton… he’d do a good job.
Personal opinion is that if someone doesn’t pay their lawful debt, then they shouldn’t be allowed to run a company. Defaulting payments is a slippery business and sees good, hard working people and their families lose out.

May 9, 2026 at 9:52 pm #320608Club Statement time.
Matlock Town Football Club can confirm that our owner, Mr Hilton, invested £20,000 into the ladies setup this season.
Late in 2025, we were notified that the Ladies First Team Manager had stepped down due to personal health issues. The Ladies section Treasurer also stepped down at the same time.
Following this, Mr Hilton informed the Development Squad that the club’s current infrastructure could not support the administrative requirements of running a Men’s First Team (our main revenue generator), alongside two ladies sides. As a result, the Development Squad would need to operate sustainably and independently for the 2026/27 season. The Ladies Development Squad Manager was notified of this in November 2025.
The club has provided ongoing financial and administrative support throughout the season, along with guidance to help the squad become fully self-sufficient. This has been successfully achieved, and the Development Squad will continue next season on a standalone basis.
After the First Team Manager’s departure, Mr Hilton appointed a new manager and continued to provide significant financial support to the Ladies First Team.
This included covering the costs of training venues, kits, balls, match pitches (due to our own pitch being unavailable for large parts of the season because of poor weather), all FA fees and fines, and even a coach for their FA Cup away trip.
Club staff, including the Club Secretary and an accounts assistant, also handled all administrative paperwork for the team.
Unfortunately, the Ladies First Team has been relegated to a lower level of the pyramid, where all clubs are self-funded, independently administered, and typically run by volunteers with funding from sponsors and player subscriptions.
After discussions with the current management team (who themselves receive expenses from the main club), they have confirmed they are unable to continue operating the side without the club’s ongoing financial and administrative support. While the option to continue on a fully sustainable, independent basis (as was the case prior to Mr Hilton’s investment) was offered, it has not proved viable.
We can also confirm that the club has not received a single penny in external funding, sponsorship, or grants for the ladies section.
We are deeply saddened by the false information being circulated on social media by one of our players’ mothers.
Matlock Town Football Club remains committed to the long-term development of all sections of the club and thanks everyone who has supported the ladies teams this season.
May 10, 2026 at 7:51 pm #320641All beginning to unravel now: spats on social media; threats on social media: and even back to using his favourite trick of issuing a shareholder scheme to raise funds.
No sympathy with the majority of Matlock fans I’m afraid, knew full well they were inviting the fox into the hen house.
May 10, 2026 at 8:06 pm #320642The shareholder scheme: lol at the certificate and folder gimmick. Classic Dave:
It’s the ones who didn’t want or vote him in that I feel for Cliff. Like our guest on here for a year or so ago. Be good to hear from them again, if you read this.
May 10, 2026 at 8:19 pm #320644And our club flog virtual pitch patches at top dollar more than most other clubs, that’s not like scunny is it lol, and you only get a digital certificate and very little else plus it’s only for one year.

Aaaaand he’s gone
Requested to leaveMay 14, 2026 at 9:19 pm #320802Lol, what about this – you couldn’t make it up:
‘Are you ready to run your own business?
Operate the Darwin Lake Sports Bar in partnership with Matlock Town Football Club
This is a rare opportunity to take over a newly refurbished, ready-made business with a strong guaranteed revenue stream and significant growth potential.’
Careful with the comments.
May 14, 2026 at 9:22 pm #320804Does it mention Dave’s cut is 95% of the take🤔
