I didn’t think Beestin was effecting the game as much as he has done when coming on as a sub. I wasn’t surprised to see him getting subbed tbh. Seems to play better when Rowley is on the pitch. Don’t they all.

Has anyone ever suggested he’s not clever? I don’t think so.

Blimey awaywego, I’m not going to waste the time and effort going over all that nonsense we covered years ago with screenshotted evidence. All I’ll say is the test has been proven time and time again to be not fit for purpose and convicted fraudster with no record of filing annual accounts with any of his numerous companies over many years. Fill in the gaps.

‘I don’t think there is any great expectation those loans will be paid back, especially int the short term. They are unsecured and interest free.’

That’s my understanding. They’re all dedicated and committed supporters not investors looking to call their loans back in, surely?

Tend to agree Rene. I’m no financial expert either but didn’t Kieran Maguire say it was his understanding that the debt will be brought down to £400k this year and could be met with some decent sponsorship and not leaving the showers on? Yes, I know the last bit wasn’t literal but his point was, it can be met given careful planning. I understand the loan aspect but wouldn’t like to see any of the Directors scoot off due to perceived criticism leaving the club in the mire again. This is just musing btw.

Just to add, any ‘new investment’ needs to be the right investment selected with due diligence. Deals that continue towards a sustainable model.

‘my mother effectively indicated that it ought to stop’

If it was banned we could call those who kept moaning about it going ‘re-drummers’ and tell them to respect democracy and stop being so ‘woke’. And go around football grounds saying ‘we’ve got our stadiums back!’. And then get lamped by the drummer populists. Probably…

What happened to the last drummer? Toddy I think he was called? 20 odd years ago.

Aye, I don’t think it’s ‘moaning for the sake of moaning’ personally. I think more people than we perhaps realise are really against it. I’m happy to stand / sit well away from it, but I appreciate others who just may not want it full stop. If you take a look at what’s out there on fans discussion groups, outside of the Iron, a fair amount of football supporters want drumming in stadiums gone.

Definitely someone who spends some time looking at the front of a fella’s shorts. Not that there’s owt wrong with that, if you’re that way inclined. Good to see so many supporters with liberal views and supporting diversity.

This was your first post. It doesn’t seem to be the best opener if you were really seeking rational discussion.

Some of these comments are hilarious.
You all look like clowns. Just hate speech and jealousy.
I have no inclination to clarify any of your misinformation.
The unity group will be at the hut as usual on friday . Uti

Indeed saleiron. I would add, if you want to engage in rational discussion Rob, calling Matt Ellis, ‘Saint Matt’ won’t help your cause. I’d wager there’s no one on here who agrees with everything he says and posts, and some of us have had a few recent issues regarding posts on goalkeepers, but the bottom line is we all have a great deal of respect for his views and fundraising efforts, as Mick West pointed out. As a group, we don’t always see eye to eye and have the odd fall out, but that’s the nature of healthy debate and being on a forum. Being ‘yes’ men and women, we are not. And long may it continue. We also do our be best to moderate the site and don’t hesitate to act if we see potentially libelous or defamatory posts, as awaywego pointed out.

You may be better served disassociating yourselves (the Unity Group) from those sorts of threats and online comments then because at least one of your group and members of Iron Hour seem happy to court it, or turn a blind eye to it.

An increasingly apparent reason for respecting member anonymity is the increasing thinly veiled threats of physical violence from some supporters that the Unity Group and other groups and individuals seem to align themselves to. Threats from individuals with a track record of physical violence so not to be sniffed at. You can wax about ‘hiding’ but some of us want to speak our mind and still attend matches without fear of getting lamped by thugs.

The only problem with that was when Howe came on there was a noticeable gap in the centre of the park as he was playing more as a second striker. As long as we don’t get over run in midfield and start playing more hoof ball…

‘I believe the post Deery refers to was about the dinghies?… it wasn’t my work and I can’t remember the context in which I posted it (think I’ve possibly got ES Alzheimer’s?)’.

‘Dinghies’? Not far off. It was a regurgitated comparison ‘joke’ about people now being fined for illegally entering football stadiums and illegal immigrants entering the UK. That’s fine if you want to do that but you can’t not expect some to take issue with it. It’s an anti-immigration trope. Maybe you’re more offended than those you claimed might be?

‘We live in such a fluffy, woke, H&S, Liberal / Libertarian, LGBTQalphabettysoupy world these days – that I’m sure that someone will unintentionally find it offensive as opposed to ironically comedic.’

Not sure why you wouldn’t anticipate some pushback posting that? Who’s the snowflake?

I deleted my post that didn’t applaud your AI generated ‘poem’ btw. Even though there was nothing remotely abusive in it. Wouldn’t want to offend you even more. You seem upset enough as it is.

It’s not for me so I keep well away from the din. A vote would seem fair and would be an interesting thing. Can’t see it happening though. It’s not been suggested by ‘the right people / groups’.
