How many people have played right back this season ?? We were shocking down that flank yesterday. Beestin came on too late for me, we had them rattled in the latter part of the game. They won by an own goal and a goal that could have easily been prevented. Small margins. The linesman on our side, we were right in line with his wrong decisions. Did their keeper carry the ball outside the area ?? UTWI

In my opinion our right back position has been a problem most of the season, today was no exception. UTWI I can take defeat but today for me it was a damp squib

In the bad old days Scunny fans used to sing ‘Workington’s got a ***’ about Peter Foley. Then he signed for us !! Now MBE for services to racial equality in football, or something along those lines. UTWI

Saw them marking out pitches at Liverpool AXA with one of these when Grandson played there ( for Hull City) Amazing, chap sat there with an iPad. That was about 3 years back.

There was no segregation. We travelled down ( or was it up in railway parlance) by special train, I think there two of them. I was sat near the half way line. At least one of our number was sat on a loose chair near the touchline, Nigel actually sat on his knee at one moment and lathered him in mud. By the way it was the same day that George Best scored six at Northampton. Scunny fans were singing ‘Fertiliser, Fertiliser’ to the Swindon fans. After the game we were pelted with coins at Swindon Railway Station, I was picking them up !! Don’t remember much else, sheer joy when we scored. UTWI

There are two others on the touchline with him, when their goalie went up for the corner he/they perhaps should have brought two of ours to the halfway line ??

Most seasoned defenders would have brought him down before he scored, at that stage in the game it would have been futile. Reminded me of the great Keith Walwyn, why didn’t we sign him when he played for Winterton Rangers ??

I seem to remember us playing Kyle as a left winger at times !! Earlier we tried Steve Cammack as a right winger, square pegs. Kyle has scored some magnificent headers again this season, I wish him well. UTWI

Barrie’s first hat trick in League Football was in a First Division game for Leicester City against Bolton Wanderers on the 4th May 1955, he was just 17. Barrie mentioned the opposing centre forward that day was one Nat Lofthouse ( England) who congratulated him at the final whistle. A proud moment for him.

I had an hours chat with him in the afternoon at the Wortley before his ‘Evening With’ with guest Jimmy Greaves. Should have recorded it, so many great stories he had. 22nd Sept 2000 that was.

I am Treasurer of the Winterton Iron Supporters Group. When we started we got flak from some parties, some suggested we had no right to even exist !! Well 18 years later we are still here, supporting the Club, various charities and local youngsters involved in sport ( after written application & approval) We plough our own furrow. Many of our membership are members of various other Supporters Groups, we have members all over the UK and one or two abroad. This year we are raising money for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, joining fees are going in that direction. We don’t like to fall out with anyone. UTWI

Was that the 5-2 win ?? If yes I was there but should have been somewhere else !! I thought from memory Nigel returned a goal kick from the Posh Keeper from quite a distance into the DRE end net. That’s all I can come up with, sorry. UTWI
