Isn’t he a touchy boy. “ MISGUIDED BY WHO”, he bellows.
Reminds me of the never popular “AHA” popular music group, and their song of 1988 vintage.

“There’s Never a Forever Thing”, I suspect!
February 25, 2026 at 4:17 pm #316725Just heard Butlers video comments and he said we have had a bit of a blip not winning for five matches. You are joking.Don’t know when the next win will happen Bogey team on Saturday

February 25, 2026 at 7:48 pm #316731It was a difficult listen and he cant seem to pull his head out of his arse at times. Its all well and good praising the opposition but we’ve rolled the red carpet out for boston and york at home maybe its to try hide the state of the pitch at times.

February 25, 2026 at 7:52 pm #316732The pitch should almost be an advantage, it’s atrocious but a great leveller against better teams. It just feels like we’re running out of ideas, that and we probably need 6 decent players

February 25, 2026 at 10:23 pm #316741What Andrew needs to concentrate on is coaching his players to pass to a teammate instead of blind flick-ons and hopeful punts upfield.
Really wasteful again last night.

February 26, 2026 at 12:18 pm #316762Was not impressed but he doesn’t rate others viewpoints anyway – hence sticking to something that is not working !
February 26, 2026 at 7:05 pm #316776Well that’s another arrogant and conceited interview from him on Humberside, certainly trying really hard to endear himself to the fans.

February 26, 2026 at 7:12 pm #316778Nothing wrong with his interview. A bit prickly in places. Certainly not arrogant and conceited IMO.

February 26, 2026 at 8:12 pm #316780“We’re far way above where we should be” If that’s not being conceited I don’t know what would be.
“Have an option when them people run a under 11s team” no arrogance!
February 27, 2026 at 12:16 am #316788Well he got us out of the abyss of National League North and against my expectation, we’ve a good chance of making the National League playoffs. “Arrogant & conceited” or not, I think he’s doing a great job

February 27, 2026 at 9:20 am #316807He is doing a great job. Rough patch but with players upping their game, a few decent recruits and returning injured players, he has a fighting chance of turning it round in the run in.

February 27, 2026 at 9:20 am #316808Arrogant and conceited are not necessarily drawbacks for a successful football manager.
See Ferguson, Clough, Wenger, Shankly and Alf Ramsey for evidence. Bill would probably add Laws to that sample.Andy could do with a bit more of it then perhaps he would be a bit less sensitive. None of the above gave much of a toss what anyone else thought. Football fans moan about stuff. On odd occasions a few make valid points but mostly it’s just gripes that we don’t play silky football and win every game by at least 3 goals whatever our circumstances.
Any 3 or 4 from York, Rochdale, Forest Green, Carlisle and Southend will be looking for new managers in the summer when they don’t get promoted as Andy probably would have been had the Iron not been promoted last season.
No worries about relegation this season means he has done OK. Top ten means he has done reasonably well. Playoffs means he has done very well even if tht means limping into 7th place. Promotion and he’s a miracle worker and he will be looking at offers above our budget.
Hopefully once we get our customary beating by Solihull out of the way we can get back on the playoff train.February 27, 2026 at 9:24 am #316809Arrogant and conceited are not necessarily drawbacks for a successful football manager.

February 27, 2026 at 9:36 am #316810Not a moan but some advice which of course he will ignore. Quality trumps form. Pick the highest Quality players in their correct positions and stick with them for the run in.
Injuries aside that would currently be:
Mahady
Rose Evans Belahoun Horton
Westbrooke Rowley Ewing
Roberts Whitehall SmithFor now Barrows for Rose and Boyce for Belahoun.
Beestin would be the only sub worth using (for any of the front 6 that might be struggling). Get Howe back as a second option but any other potential substitute weakens the team significantly. But then I’m just an ex U-11 and Sunday League manager.

February 27, 2026 at 11:43 am #316814Well Barrows and Rose are still injured and we have no choice but to play Boyce, it’s not ideal with Boycey being outpaced nearly every game, any opposing striker with pace and we look very exposed ATM.
February 27, 2026 at 11:57 am #316816I did expect to be in the playoffs from the beginning of the season, I would have excepted far less and still been happy.
To be have the playoff spot virtually nailed on after the Southend game with 18 to go, then yes he’s done exceptionally well, even with the latest run of poor form.
Playoffs are just a lottery as we’ve seen, not many times have the best team in the group gained promotion.
Shame he comes across like he does.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 27, 2026 at 12:06 pm #316817No shame in being defensive and a bit tetchy in interviews, keen to protect his players. Give me that over Dean’s meaningless drawling waffle any day.
February 27, 2026 at 2:21 pm #316826We need to beat Solihull tomorrow and not a Southend type lucky win. And no pass backs to Mahady, if Butler does not want boos from the home fans.
A convincing win please, with players in their correct positions.February 27, 2026 at 2:21 pm #316827I liked them, cracking version of ‘I’ll do my crying in the rain’
February 27, 2026 at 3:09 pm #316829‘And no pass backs to Mahady, if Butler does not want boos from the home fans.’
Seems harsh. The occasional pass back to the keeper does no harm. Not if it becomes the go to move though
