Our lower league defender got us as far as international super striker Mark Hughes and did better than hard-man midfielder Robbie Savage.

Position once played has sod all to do with it.

    Really?
So the defenders mindset has no bearing?
Can you point your any evidence?

A different mindset will only happen when both parties move on, and hopefully that’s where more money will be forthcoming.

Which “both parties” would that be, Awaywego?

Connor Smith 1 in 5 at Hamilton this season!

    Not played much.
    Here, I mean.

Only you and Butler think Pat Jones is a WB (I hope)
Do you have inside info on 3-5-2 for next season?

With Chester, strike rate one goal per four games.
Not quite achieving that with us.
    Why not?
And does anyone remember the other guy we bought from Chorley as a striker/winger?
He didn’t score as he had before coming to us…why not?
    What are we doing wrong?

Butler isn’t going anywhere and it is absurd to be thinking of replacing him right now. He is not beyond criticism; he has a stubbornness, has a poor media presence and attitude to the latter third of the season was too carefree. However, regardless of what ifs and hindsight, he did get us promoted last season and got us into the playoffs this season, of which not many predicted.

People would take Butler critics more seriously if it wasn’t in the maximalist style of “he has to go”.

Not so much, “he has to go” but “I wish he would”.

Maybe we should sign Vincent Kompany as manager, former centre back whose Bayern Munich team win nearly every game playing attacking football, however he has the right playing budget to help him out a bit. Give Butler a York Ciy budget and we will be promoted no problem.

    I’m not sure you’re right.
He’s done the “sit on it, everyone behind the ball” too often for me, and often to our cost.

    He means “anybody but Butler”

    Not quite.
But an ex attacker as manager, yes.

Big decisions for AB defensively. Defensive frailties have been obvious and recruitment is needed clearly.
BUT – we have Starbuck for RB, JB, Rose & Barrows for RB/CB, Evans for CB, Horton for CB/LB and Denton for LB. Surely have to be some outs to allow for the necessary incoming improvements. But who?

    Butler?
    LOL.

Is this fella up for sale ? .. one game away from playing in the EFL with Dale quite how and why he would sign for Scunny is a a bit of a strange idea

Just basing the idea on his leaving Grimsby when they got promoted, chose to stay in NL

I wasn’t there, don’t go to away games any more since the death of my best mate, even if tickets were available.
But it sounded, and looked, as if we were lumping it long over the heads of midfield?
I’ve certainly questioned that at home games this season.

I was expecting a cracking end to end game but you cannot expect to turn up for the last 10 minutes and think you can win a game I’m afraid we looked very poor today a game to far, promotion next season? UTI

My money will be on missing out again.
    Because we’ve got Butler.

You mean the guy who got us promoted last season and really should not have got us into the top 5 this season on the budget and the predictions? Oh ok.

Yeah, the guy who cost us the championship last season through arrogance, stubbornness and naivety.
And the same guy whose stubbornness with refusing to accept we NEEDED a goalie, has cost us many points this season.
    That guy?
    Oh, ok

Good to see anti-positivity Alcazar back firing on all cylinders!

I’m positive I’d like to see Butler gone.
    I didn’t want him appointed.
I thought giving him his first two year contract was a mistake. I still think so.
I think giving him ANOTHER two year deal was beyond the pale.
The guy cost us the championship last season with his arrogance, naivety and stubbornness.
He’s done the same again this season. NINETEEN points dropped after the 88th minute?
INSISTING we didn’t need a goalie.
Curious, to say the least, substitutions…
Of all the above, I’m POSITIVE.

Please God let’s get an experienced keeper can’t go through another season with 4 inadequate keepers

No, no, I’m sure you’re wrong.
That nice Mr Butler assured us Maison was our number one for the season…

If we are to be honest, and we should be, if Rochdale don’t get promoted, it will be a travesty.

So far it is clear why Rochdale amassed so many more points. A better team in control with good structure. The stop-start nature isn’t helping us, but we have rarely threatened and only occasional moments from Jones or Roberts deliver some kind of hope, butn their final product hasn’t always been great.

    So our attack isn’t functioning?
Never mind, Butler can bring on either of our extra defenders…oh…wait…

    Is it the bluebird project?

If so, there is a playlist with 57 videos available https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzh8hnXYgfYJ5L5nydU5rbyBihgtAH_Qy&si=fFEyb6p7mcEHc3Hm

That’s EXACTLY what I was trying to find, thankyou.
But YouTube just kept asking for money before it could show it me.

Those around me felt that we tended to sit back and invite pressure in the second half.
Given the number of times we’ve chucked it away doing exactly that, does he never learn?
The opposition can’t score if the ball is in their penalty area.
And we still seem reluctant to shoot.

Ref good first half. Less so 2nd half!

We reckoned he could only point south.
Gave us loads in the first half and almost nothing in the second.
And nearly ten minutes injury time?
    Do me a favour.

‘She did look ashamed.’ TBH alcazar, that just makes you sound like a four letter word.

    Explain?
Or in your back to front upside down left wing world, is it ok for the rich to beg for money off the poorer?

BTW: I see my post got me rent free into your head again?

The Eastleigh game was all about not picking up any injuries.
If Southend watching the game they will think they have only to turn up.
Thats never the case in football !

You’ve beaten us twice this season, we’re not going to think all we have to do is turn up. Your game against Eastleigh, and ours against Wealdstone were purely about keeping players safe games. It’s looking like we will bring around 1000 supporters based on current sales.

My unofficial contact here at Scunny says we expecting you to sell out the away end.
And judging by our last few performances, I’m expecting you to get the win.🙁

My first hope would be for a decent referee, not the idiot we had on Saturday.
And why do assistants no longer flag for blatant fouls right in front of them?

Let’s also take into account that, due to the internet, most people now know that the people at the top of most charities are taking very lucrative six figure salaries.
The last time I was asked for money on the High Street I enquired of the young lady as to what salary the head of the charity she was representing, took.
When she responded, I told her I was on an oap.
    She did look ashamed.
And as for multi-million companies asking me to round up on my purchases for some charity or other? No. You do it from your record profits.
And don’t get me started on the BBC sitting on £millions of the money collected for Children in Need.

Well Whitehall’s due a goal that’s ten now without scoring, the good thing is they know when it’s a big game this season bar one and they’ve at least turned up, and that’s all we can ask for.
    Up for grabs for everyone.

Great crowd by the way for a dead rubber.

    Very quiet really
