Two to start, both when driving.
First off, the (usually aged) driver on a country road, doing 45 mph in a 60 limit.
Difficult to pass him, but here’s a village limit 30 mph, through which matey continues at 45mph.
Second, country road 60 mph limit you are doing 60, so is matey 1/4 mile on front. No worries.
Then matey catches the 45mph dodderer.
Does he overtake when it’s safe to do so?
Does he hell… he’s now seemingly happy at 45, meaning for you to overtake, you now need FOUR car lengths, not just one.May 18, 2026 at 9:45 am #320891Middle lane hoggers on the motorway!

May 18, 2026 at 9:51 am #320892Followed many of these along the road through our two villages. Limit is 60 along the open sections but 30 through the village streets. They continue doing 40/45 all the way then get caught on the speed camera.
Always makes me laugh!

May 18, 2026 at 12:05 pm #320900All of the above plus people who do not indicate when turning left or on roundabouts when they turn off whilst you are waiting to enter and they shoot off the turn off before. Also people who have shite roundabout protocol in general, stopping and then looking instead of looking when approaching to see if they can continue without stopping to keep traffic flowing. That’s what roundabouts are for people 🙄
May 18, 2026 at 12:44 pm #320905An increasing lack of indicating, Union / England flags at roundabouts, and drivers in front gesticulating about the driver in front of them instead of concentrating on the own driving.
May 18, 2026 at 1:10 pm #320906Phones videoing gigs,we all like a momento photo of our nights out but why do some halfwits spend entire sections of gigs distracting other with their phones?
May 18, 2026 at 3:30 pm #320909People who think indicators mean “I am moving this direction right now” and not “I am signalling my intent to move that direction very soon when it is clear for me to do so.”
Phone zombies walking while scrolling, moving erratically, making it hard to go by and sometimes just stopping, forcing people to either just stop (if somewhere narrow) or squeeze by.

“Mom”
” Goal involvements”May 18, 2026 at 4:31 pm #320912Another motoring one.
Unlit dual carriageway, good visibility, little traffic.
So you settle at 80mph 😳
But what’s this? Someone catching you? Is it 5-oh?
Slow to 70 then.
They catch you… And sit behind you.
And you can’t shake them off. Slow gently to 40, still there, accelerate briskly, still there. Seeing it’s not 5-oh, up to a quick , 90… still there.
The only way to shake them off is turn off or stop on a layby.

They don’t come in my garden, Mr Webley keeps them away.
May 19, 2026 at 8:25 am #320919Drivers who see a “lane closed / merge in 800m” sign and immediately move over, creating a much longer queue, then get angry at other drivers who continue using the open lane properly and merge closer to the closure.
That is literally how a merge point is supposed to work. Use both lanes, merge in turn, keep traffic moving. It is not “queue jumping” just because someone understands the sign.

May 19, 2026 at 9:00 am #320920Drivers who run the taper at the last minute are a danger mind you,in well flowing traffic thinking ahead is easier
May 19, 2026 at 2:30 pm #320927I agree with SODiron. The lane isn’t closed until you get to the cones or end of lane. People moving to the next lane before the end of lane causes more congestion further down the line; if everyone utilised both lanes traffic would be more flowing. The only issue is if the traffic is flowing normally and there is a person going faster in one lane. If the traffic is flowing normally, the cars in both lanes should match speed and there should be no issue, where there can be easy adjustment for when lanes merge.
This driving instructor lays out the case for it:

May 19, 2026 at 4:05 pm #320929I can tell you now the 200 yard taper and 200 yard safety feels very short when you’re working on these roads, fast travelling traffic getting over well before the final 200 yard plates is safer for those working, heavier traffic naturally slows and nobody wants an idiot crossing several lanes at the the the last minute .
It’s better to be behind a car for 800 yards than kill a roadworker.
Ps had a very scary time once when an ambulance with blues came through and an idiot swooped out of its way in front of our crash cushion while I was installing,Nearly hit me .It’s nice to allow emergency services through but remember that big lorry is protecting workers in the roadMay 19, 2026 at 4:32 pm #320930That’s why it’s speed dependent. In the video, he says it’s different on a motorway when it’s high speed and makes a mention of those bombing down to the end. However, if the traffic is at a slow speed, it is perfectly ok for both lanes to be used and it is what should happen. Yet I regularly have seen endless queues at a standstill, when we could have half the traffic in one lane and half in the other, still at slow speed, filtering in as it is intended and with less clogging of roads.
May 19, 2026 at 4:55 pm #320932It’s there to protect workers 1st and foremost,

There is no rule against merging in turn. The road doesn’t end 800 yards from closure. As long as people aren’t driving at ridiculous speed, use common sense, it’s fine. When cars are often travelling at less than 10 mph, there is no need to be moving lanes long before closure.

Often with urine stains in the crotch area.
May 19, 2026 at 5:59 pm #320937People who think it’s ok to fare evade and those who excuse it by making out that they’re sticking it to the big wigs. The only people this will affect are customers who will have to pay more for fares or low paid workers who need a wage from the company. It won’t be the CEOs.
May 20, 2026 at 9:19 am #320947I’m a regular watcher of Ashley Neal, he’s made me a better driver, ‘pocket of space, make it a non-event’ etc.
As an aside his dad is ex Liverpool and England player Phil Neal.1 user thanked author for this post.

I also hate the new rule that necessitates plastic bottle tops to be permanently attached.
They get in the way when pouring, and are awful when trying to drink from the bottle.May 20, 2026 at 1:57 pm #320983The ones that flip to 180 degrees are okay to drink from. If some people didn’t throw rubbish everywhere there’d be no need for them. The amount of discarded plastic bottle tops I’ve seen over the years is disgraceful.

As an aside his dad is ex Liverpool and England player Phil Neal. His driving fail clips are always good because he nails the real issues and isn’t scared of calling out the dashcammer when required. Which is more than what can be said for the ‘driving fail’ channels which just present the cammer showing a supposed fail from another when it isn’t always the case. Which brings me to a pet peeve – dashcammers who cause incidents.
Dashcams are great for posterity and providing evidence, but it gives some drivers a sense on righteousness and feeling they can not accommodate errors or actively intimidate others when driving. Roundabouts being a common occurrence where it is noticeable from these videos that cammers accelerate across the roundabout or drive over a mini-roundabout to cause an issue with a driver who may have been late in emerging. We all make mistakes, but we should all accommodate them from others, instead of trying to cause and escalate issues for self-righteousness and getting a video on a youtube compliation. Many would be non-events if they did what they supposed to in not accelerating around roundabouts or over instead of around mini-roundabouts. I don’t get the mentality of let’s create a road rage situation, instead of just letting the mistake happen and getting on with your day. Angry reprimands won’t lead them to change behaviour and sometimes people have brain farts and aren’t inconveniencing you because of their selfishness.
I have had it to me. I remember a roundabout I am familiar with (a fairly large one) where I saw a car approaching on the lane perpendicular, but knowing the roundabout I judged I would be fine in getting across if the other car kept at a steady speed. Instead, as soon as I emerged onto the roundabout I saw the car immediately accelerate, then brake and start honking his horn aggressively. If I held back it would have been a non-event, but equally if he had not sped up it would have been a non-event, since I would have been around. I have been past that roundabout since and been in a similar position to where that car was and seen cars emerge from where I was and I had no issues with being cut off because I travelled at a steady pace. I don’t know if this guy had a dashcam, but it’s this kind of behaviour that dashcams have caused among some.

I also find that if you have the lid perpendicular to your mouth then it doesn’t brush against your upper lip and is like normal.
